Hey Cameron, thank you for the review and excellent feedback.. I’ve been looking at this jacket for a while I finally picked one up looking forward to using it this coming winter . Thanks again for a great review 👍🏼
Nice jacket. I could be wrong but it looks a tad modern in its cut to me. I had a real Canadian Navy deck jacket (in another life) and it was a baggier, much more padded jacket in body and sleeves, the sleeves were baggier too. I guess US deck jackets were slimmer fitting, less padding.
@@CameronO I have a few Iron Heart N1 jackets. There insane. The fit is amazing. I live at the beach and I still wear it about 5 to 8 times a year. Makes me think of both my grandfathers who wore them in WW2. Miss them old men a lot.
@@CameronO I ordered it directly from the official website The Real McCoy's in London, they are re-issueing it. It's perfect, and super warm. I had minus -6° Celsius this weekend in the Alps in Savoy (France) and wasn't cold at all.
Nice Review - I love the one from the pike brothers just ordered a waxed version last week and own a standard version for about one year. I can just agree with you. It is the warmest Jacket I own.
@@CameronO I am 189 cm tall, but with only 75 - 80 kg I look more linke Mr Fantastic that mighty Thor = sitze L fits me fine - with enough room for a wool sweather - I stumbled over the pike brothers by accident and ordered my first jacket bye aero leather (check them out too it you don't allready know them) from scottland - just to realize they come from arround 100 miles from my plaze - hope you find his Information helpful
I believe my Dad wore one in 1942 as a USN Sea Bee, I'll have to pull out the pictures and check. There were Whites and Navy wools in his Seabag although no outer garments.
@@CameronO The IH pockets for me sit a bit high. I'm 5'9" and have a large in the jacket. If the pockets were around an inch lower, they'd be just about right for me.
@@CameronO Just saw this jacket that is similar to a deck jacket and it comes in Alpaca lined or unlined. The Mariner Jacket by Freenote. Not many sizes left but looks like a seasonal release.
Hmm... great review. Would you rather have this N1 Real McCoy or the Dehen 1920 Deck Jacket? Which one and why? Also, for city living, would you rather have a dark brown wool collar or black wool collar? Enquiring minds want to know. Stay awesome.
Love the channel, you deserve more subs. Have you any experience with Private white vc jackets? I've been looking at them for a while and there aren't many videos out about them. Would love to see your opinion on them.
Haha thanks man, appreciate it. I used to follow private white but have never tried on or even seen any of their items in person. I would love to review some, know anyone there? haha
Hi mate, personally i find the key with my one is the sizing. If you get one that is big enough for a layer or two then you're going to be toasty for a really cold winter.. snow, the works. But if you get a size that only lets you do, say a tshirt underneath, you will need to rely on the waist straps and hope it's big enough to be able to do the neck up. So make sure you try on or can return if you can. But also depends what you want it for. Around London mine is fine with a tshirt but if I wanted to layer and go out in proper snow storm weather then I would need to size up. Hope that helped?
@@CameronO Ah that makes sense. Thanks for the help! And by the way, since you're in London, if you ever were looking for some other nautical-inspired clothing, take a look at North Sea Clothing. Great quality stuff that would pair well with the N1!
Hey ! Need a size advice, I can have it in 40 and im 178 cm for 65 kg, what do you think about it ? As I want to wear it wheather with a tshirt or a Jumper inside depending the weather :) thank you
A bit late to this video, but thinking of getting one next fall, how does this handle rain? Obviously its not going to do well in a storm, but what about your average London drizzle or shower
Handles it like a champ. This and the Iron Heart one are perfect for most winters in the UK. I would try on the one from IH before you make a choice though.
Hey Rick, So up until a few weeks ago I thought i was 5"11, but turns out I'm 6ft / 6"1.. weight.. pre Christmas or post? haha. I'm about 80kg. As I say in the vid, def take into consideration that lining. It's deceivingly thick. The t-shirt is the UES Ramayana pocket t-shirt. Rivet & Hide stock it. So worth the money!
Hey Cameron, Thanks for doing this review. I've been considering the Buzz Rickson N-1 and the Real Mccoys. Looks looks like yours is a size 42, is that your normal size? Did you size up, size down etc...? I'm trying to figure out if they are true to size. I normally wear a size 40 in most coats with my chest measuring in at 41". Like you, I prefer just a t-shirt underneath and like my coat form fitting (not oversized or baggy). Anyhow, any additional information you can provide would be great.
Hey mate. Have you seen my latest video on the IH N1? if not check that out as I discuss this one too. This was a 42, but I bought it second hand off ebay. So I didn't get to try the other sizes. I think since this video went out and now my thoughts probably changed, especially since trying the Iron Heart sizes on. I think for RMC they are quite true to size, well at least the one i had was. 42 was good and was a medium-ish fit. I couldn't really layer.
@@CameronO Great, thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I'll check out your IH n-1 review. I own a few IH coats and like the build quality a lot.
Hey Cameron, thank you for the review and excellent feedback.. I’ve been looking at this jacket for a while I finally picked one up looking forward to using it this coming winter . Thanks again for a great review 👍🏼
Just got Pike Bro N1. Love it. Keep in mind sleeves longer than JPN versions in order to accommodate riding motorcycles.

THE N-1 USN DECK JACKET…WOW! Great review, just subscribed
Thanks buddy. Appreciate it. I actually sold it recently. I'll explain in the winter as I'm on the hunt for one from Iron Heart this year! Stay tuned!

Very cool review! I relate to your Navy story since I'm finishing a 30-year career this year. Keep the reviews coming.
Thank you good sir! Appreciate it and will do!
Thanks for doing a review on this. I was always interested in the special edition version.
No problem! Thanks for watching :)
I think I may pick up the special edition for my winter coat it seems it would be amazing if any better than this great coat
Great review Cameron, thank you.
Thanks mate. Really appreciate the feedback!
Great Vid mate. Hi from 🇬🇧 I love Schott jackets, but didn't understand the definition of the N1,N2, N3 so thanks for that. Liked & Subbed 👍

Nice, how is the fit? I'm now looking into other brands as I want to see if they fit any better, or have more room for layering

Good to know. It must be the design of the N1. Very interesting.

I got one of these last season and had to sell it because the alpaca was too itchy...
It won’t be the alpaca, more likely the wool. Alpaca fibres are much finer than sheep’s wool.

what's your height and how can you choice your size ?
Im 181cm 82kg, should I get 42? I dont want to too snug, please help
thanks so much for your insight
