I got an old Romanian greatcoat and while it feels like it's made of sandpaper it does a great job at keeping me warm when it's cold and makes me stand out in a good way, lotta people compliment you for wearing it
Quick tip for anyone here reading. Soak your Great Coat in Super Cold Water one time and let it drip air dry. This will help smooth out the wrinkles in shipping and make your big boy size coat slightly bigger and longer.

@@pigboy77shrinking is caused by rapid heating of a cool wet garment. Letting it drip and air dry doesn't have such negative effects

I’ve been wearing a double breasted wool peacoat for years and still get compliments now and then about how cool it looks. 10/10 recommend long wool coats in the winter months
Russians soldiers in ww2 were not issued blankets. And so they took German blankets as soon as they were captured. And they would use great coats for blankets and pillows in the summer. Interesting history. Personally I think these coats are fantastic.

I just ordered one, it says wool fabric construction, do you mind letting me know if it is 100 percent wool or what other material it is made with, as the inner liner doesnt look wool, thanks

As a teenager in the 80's I used to do what would now be call as ultra-lightweight camping, everything in an old British 37 pattern largepack with a rolled up WWII British greatcoat on top as sleeping bag/foul weather gear etc etc. Epic pieces of kit but a git to get hold of nowadays, especially middle aged spread sizing 😅
In the 90's you could pick up Warsaw pact great coats for pennys, wish I'd invested in a couple of dozen.

it's beautiful, it's perfect for the winter it keeps me warm like nothing else and protects from strong winds
my gf loves it, pretty much anything I have looks stylish af with the coat over it
men, buy greatcoats, you can find old military ones for pennies and they will probably outlive you

The greatcoat is my favorite garment. I have many from WW2
The only time i hate being a big guy is when trying to buy surplus
I got lucky on a big size.
I commonly wear milsurp fieldcaps + my Great Granddad's WW2 Melton coat and get compliments all the time.
The fieldcap that people notice the most is my M65 Finnish fieldcap.
A random but very interesting video. Sweet. Wool also locks up carbon. Another added bonus.

I ordered a Large Greek greatcoat. Has a #3 on the inside. Measures 23” across the chest from seam to seam under the armpits. Fits me snug. If the #3 is considered a Large then they run small. I’m 5’10” 170lbs 42” chest
The blend of history and drip is immaculate
i would get one, but i live in 115 degree 100% humidity Texas where it snows once every 15 years a light dusting and the cold months are more like cold weeks or days here, then back on to summer
Get some XL in and I'd but at least one! Make my wife happy and let me buy more mid-century!

I find your comment about greatcoats declining because of car use amusing. I rather like wearing my greatcoat while driving because it isn't as bulky as my parka.
I got two, one of the soviet Tank Forces (the ones tghat were stationed in East Germany, where i got it. Cause i am from there) and one from the East German Army from 1980 Something.

would be interested but the only great coat that has these eyes, is the polish great coat. the best looking one. I only hope the one i ordered has the height right, since everything was to size but height was a few sizes short. Now I just need to find a polish trench coat to go over the great coat

On that was terrible. I think the market for great coats dwindled a little since they added full body scanners at cinemas to stop three toddlers standing on each others shoulders in a great coat sneaking in to movies they weren’t old enough to see. Sad times really.

You never have anything in stock when I check, even after announcing you've got a heap of stuff in. Idk whether you sell out THAT fast or what, but I'm 6' and nothing in stock ever fits me, it's all for 5'6" manlets.
yeah, all our larger sizes sell out same-day. after that we're left with smalls and mediums unfortunately
