    • @truekurayami
      @truekurayami ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That is the Social Evolutionary difference between humans and Xenos in this story. It is in fact proven by how slow we are to get things done when there actually is no real time limit we can think of. Global Warming/Cooling is actually a good example of such a problem, as currently it's effects are seen as so minor most of us aren't in a hurry to fix it, and those of us that are working on it are divided from not being able to determine how much is caused by us and how much is a natural shift leaving the situation uncertain of how we can actually correct the issue so the earth or humanity isn't destroyed from it.

    • @kiritotheabridgedgod4178
      @kiritotheabridgedgod4178 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@truekurayami arguably, humanity being destroyed isn't that bad of an outcome, the being destroyed is.
      As far as we know, Earth is the only life bearing planet in the galaxy, if not the universe. Sapience can always rise again given enough time, if our species were to go extinct. There's no guarantee that life will rise again, should our planet die.
      Also, let's be fair, should our species ever get of this rock in any truly meaningful way, we're just going to spread across the galaxy like a fucking plague.

    • @truekurayami
      @truekurayami ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kiritotheabridgedgod4178 Our basic survival instinct says humanity being destroyed is the worst outcome for us, thus why it is one of the options to avoid, and as you have pointed out Earth is the only known planet that can produce life on the scale needed for our survival so it's destruction means our destruction until technology has grown to the point we can properly survive else where thus why only one of the two needs to fall to screw us instead of needing both hence the use of OR.
      Now us spreading like a plague that is up for debate since our knowledge and technology is so limited for properly analyzing beyond our own solar system it is quite possible once we start getting off into the galaxy/universe at that level it could turn out we are the life from earth is the most delicate lifeforms in creation making it suicidal to stray to far from earth. I seriously hope this isn't the case, and that there is other life out there that will keep us in check enough not to be a plague but I agree we need to look at the extreme absolutes in our preparations towards that developmental stage.

    • @clonechoopa31
      @clonechoopa31 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@truekurayami I like the idea that humans are the cause of global warming/cooling mainly because it implies that it can be reversed completely however, the facts prove otherwise. For instance the earth has weathered many desert and ice ages before life was a thing and has proceeded to produce such ages even with the dinosaurs and what would eventually become the early evolution level humans. Global warming/cooling is but a mere footnote in geological history of Earth and it has come to repeat itself with no regard to whom or what it affects. The idea of climate change in what the masses know about it is mere human narcissism, as if we had the means to truly affect the Earth in such a meaningful way.
      Although I will agree the microplastics thing is a huge bother in terms of human evolutionary development, soon plastics will be completely unable to affect human physiology which will be a big problem in prosthetic technology moving forward. Or perhaps we will become part plastic in genetic make-up... the possibilities just begin there, who knows what will really happen in the far distant future! That is to say if we have any at all as a species given the fact that Ukraine possibly started a M.A.D. level nuclear conflict between superpowers like the naive pro-nazi idiot it is.
