    There you are, in a warm, dark, though cramped, space, listening to the soothing beats of your parent's heart. Then, suddenly, without warning, you are squeezed, compressed, and forced through a narrow opening and out into a cold, bright, limitless space. A space that does not contain amniotic fluid. A space where you can no longer hear the soothing heart beat. You are scared, cold, and extremely sore from nearly being crushed. Your lungs fill with this weak dry gas, and your source of oxygen & food no longer works. Something may even have just struck you backside or foot. Your entire world has just been torn from you.
    No wonder your first instinct is to scream. A scream that is a mixture of loss, outrage and fear.

    How would you feel to be yank out from place where temperature is optimal for you and no loud noises or bright lights, food is delivered straight to your belly. Then you are pulled out of your comfy nest to a new weirdplace where all your sensors go overload. I think i would also cry, scream and kick.

    Our brains, and therefore skulls, have evolved faster than the rest of our bodies could compensate for. Perhaps if medical techniques hasn’t likewise progressed as our ability to think did, we would have had small birthing canals bred out of our genepool…

    • @alganhar1
      @alganhar1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Erm, how about no? You see the size of the Birth Canal is determined by several competing things, not just the size of the baby's head.
      For example, the woman has to be able to, you know, WALK. Too wide and that increases the size of the hips and pelvis, adding extra weaknesses to that area. Larger canal also requires larger muscles, which means larger tendons and attachment points.
      Even if the biomechanics made it possible (which they do not), there have simply not been anything close to enough Generations since the inception of modern medicine for it to have made a blind bit of difference.
      Until modern medicine approximately one in three women died in child birth, and that's been pretty much the case for our entire history as a species. It is one of the prices we pay for sapience.

    • @LordOceanus
      @LordOceanus ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alganhar1 Humans have the largest skull to body size at birth (and one of the largest as adults) of any animal on earth. As a result births are very dangerous and painful for both the mother and infant however even without any medicine the survival rates are high enough to sustain a population. Had we never developed medicine we would likely have far fewer people alive today who are medically unable to safely give birth without assistance as they would have died during childbirth. But it would be very unlikely to have any major changes to the human anatomy occur as a result of this issue. For most of human history getting to the age of 10 was a pretty good measure of if you would make it to adulthood. Surviving birth was very much the norm not the exception, there were just far more negative outcomes in general. You are however off by a factor of 10 when it comes to pre-modern rates of death during childbirth. It was 5-29/1000 not 1/3.

    Torture indeed! Human babies were not designed to come out of human wombs, that was the next step. Reducing the size of the fetus , so it could be birthed comfortably from a human mother.We jumped the gun, the female volunteers were larger ,with more room ,and more elastic muscles in their pelvis. The original error that got Enki throwing a hissy and cussing a blue streak. None of it was directed at humans, he was cussing out the nurses and security staff that failed to monitor the experiment properly.
    For a genius geneticist, the old man had a temper. Not that i blame him. When you half brother is a rule loving inflexible ice cube, it kinda makes you wanna cuss too.
    Inaccurate! We are born covered in piss and amniotic fluids, shit sometimes too, if the mother bleeds the doctor is a hack and should get their license taken away. They are there exactly for that reason. To avoid damage to the mother.
    9 out of 10 times the baby is fine and does not need medical intervention. If the mother is in any way damaged , someone did not do their job. Sue them! TF are you paying for? If they don't yet have the technology to make sure babies are born safely, then they should divert funding to that research ,instead of cooking up bio weapons to kill more humans.
    My money my choice, and anyone who says otherwise , better be ready for a fight!
    About time politicians started doing our bidding!
    Poll it on every social media you like, You wont find a single one who is in favour of spending money on bio weapons, instead of making sure babies are born safely with no damage to the mother.
    In case i'm wrong and you find some ..they need to be locked up ASAP! Just because they got a death wish, doesn't mean we got to die along with them.
