    For those saying they just want to invest in the {ev Tesla} and not what Elon is cooking for the the Future, I say this draw a strong parallel when apple management fired Steve job because he was putting his effort in cooking the next product and they just wanted to milk what ever was selling at the moment. We all know how that ended? Thankfully, Elon is in control and he is driving Tesla vision and destiny and not the MBA(s).

      For every radical innovator that bets the barn and succeeds gloriously there are 10 other radical innovators that bet the barn and doomed their companies. This fetish to highlight one glorious success and assume that the recipe will ALWAYS be successful reeks of ignorance in statistics and data.
      Tesla going into bots is a natural progression given the expertise they've built vis-a-vis FSD. But household humanoid bots becoming a profitable business is long ways down the road. It is a completely NEW INDUSTRY. How much that new industry pans out totally depends on WHAT EXACTLY THE BOTS WILL DO. Right now Elon has only made vague statements like "dangerous &repetitive tasks". My personal thinking is that a 'cooking robot' is something people will be easily willing to plunk $25K on.

      Thats a poor comparison in my opinion. Jobs was working on things that were still in Apples wheelhouse. AI belongs at Space X . Tesla is acting like they already converted the world to EV. not even close yet. Jobs was fired because Apple was going under.

    For many people that don’t know, Hyundai (the car company) is just one of many companies under the Hyundai Motor Group umbrella. Some of their other companies are involved in machinery, engineering, steel manufacturing and just like Tesla; robotics. They also recently acquired Boston Dynamics - a leading American robotics company. Hold your horses before pouncing on Tesla and saying “they should just stick to what they know.” Companies don’t experience exponential growth without evolving and branching out.

    Why not start a separate company? One word: Dojo. The Learning power required will be insane, so why not piggyback on this cluster. Also once FSD learning is largely completed (I think it will be sooner than we think) it would be a waste to let is sit unused.

    • @TimDawson67
      @TimDawson67 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree that this is about leveraging Dojo - but FSD won't be "completed" with Dojo at any point. The thing about AI is you continuously feed in updated training data, so that it can keep learning new things (all the million:1 edge cases) - that's why Tesla having a continuous stream of data from the existing fleet is such a huge advantage. It's the edge cases that will catch out AI/FSD, and the more data, the more edge cases you can cover in training.
      But there's going to be huge cross-over between FSD and AGI, and for Tesla Dojo will help the two sides to learn from each other.

    • @twogirlzonemike
      @twogirlzonemike 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TimDawson67 I like to compare FSD to how AI trained in GO or Chess. At some point there will be a sharp inflection point where it's just provenly better than humans. Regulators & government seems against it, likely due to political agendas, but I think we won't be able to turn the on switch off when people realize they can relax in the car rather than be super stressed driving to and from work/gym/grocery store/ etc

    • @omnicurious2949
      @omnicurious2949 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Starting a new company with knowledge gained from Tesla would be immoral. The IP for AI hardware/software belongs to Tesla company.....meaning Tesla shareholders. Elon cannot just take that IP and start off a new company...unless existing TSLA shareholders automatically get part ownership of the new company.

      More importantly, Tesla is operating as efficient and productive as any leading startup. It was a painful experience to acquired SolarCity, which could be started as a division inside Tesla. Tesla has so much to leverage to create and develop the next bigger s-curve. Apple started as a company. No one imagined it would become a phone company, which is ways bigger than the computers. Dave, you seem to be posting quite a bit more often than normal. Great content. Are you also seeking to stave off further TSLA's drop in short term pricing? Curious. If TSLA keeps breaking through support barriers, the drop in valuation can continue longer than expected.

    I commented this on Steven's video
    25k tesla is achievable if full body casting, with structural batteries, with tesla bots for assembly. Could be even cheaper with Naion batteries vs LFP

    The move to humanoid AI controlled robots is actually not a startup. It could be considered just another Tesla model . As has already been pointed out, all the necessary engineering talent and knowledge for building autonomous robots already exists within the company. I am pointing out the bot is not a departure only an extension of the product line. The bot can be used for transportation moving product from A to B or pulling a rickshaw for that matter.

      Both FSD and humanoid bot are going to rely on Neural nets. Humanoid is going to build on all the knowledge gained developing FSD. So I agree that it is not a new startup but a natural extension to FSD. People fail to understand that FSD neural net is incorporating a lot of general intelligence that has applications across FSD. Tesla has basically accelerated the advent of humanoids. The likes bostondynamics are now left behind in the competition

      The humanoïde robot will not automatically be powered by AGI.
      AGI is a separate thing from the robots.
      Thank for the excellent videos Dave.

      This is just the first product to extend beyond the conventional. FSD and autonomy will likely be incorporated into all current and new product lines just like software, wifi, chips and bluetooth are in all smart devices today.

    Dave, I think you buried the lead. We aren't investing in a startup. When you buy into a startup, you stand to lose your entire investment. With Tesla, you get to invest in a fast-growing car company with very limited downside risk. On top of that, you get exposure to the leading energy storage company with a huge TAM. On top of that, you get exposure to a startup AI company with a larger TAM then the two others combined. In other words, you get the excitement and potential upside of investing in a cool startup with the stability of an established growth company. At these prices, I can't think of a better place to put my money.

    Even if there is a change of focus towards AI and the Tesla Bot their EV business is STILL a tremendous growth story and is really still just getting started. That’s hasn’t changed! It’s not all or nothing.

    Elon is a big inspiration to so many people. He’s incredibly wealthy but he acts a normal dude. He’s also smarter than most people that have ever lived and he has no fear of failure. He embraces failure and looks to failure in order to provide feedback to improve. If Elon sees opportunity then get behind Elon and see what happens. Even if he misses a target he still delivers more than what could have reasonably been expected. He’s a good person first and cares about people. I can’t help but love Elon. He truly inspires me.
