    Why not just do it within Tesla? Why does it need to be separate?

    Also, if he built the AGI within Tesla, or any other public company, he would be obligated to maximize return for shareholders which will likely conflict with managing AI existential threat.

    Dave's more recent videos (such as this one) are starting to convince me that he's speaking to us from the future. Gone are the days where Dave churns out Tesla-specific videos, one after another, because the things that he has been saying since way back when are now materialising before our very eyes. All of this talk about AGI, LLMs and the like - while seemingly far-out and stretch-worthy to some of us now, may very well be the truth that we live in in 5 - 10 years time (

    Dave. Love this topic. Dojo as it is now can’t split work to multiple users with proper security. It’s also not needed by Tesla. X could build software to make it a proper cloud offering. Purchasing Dojo hardware would also cover some of Tesla’s development costs and making it cheaper for the company to eat its own dog food. Putting it on the cloud will make it self sustaining.
    Dojo may need to work better with tools used by AI professionals and not just Tesla’s use case. X could do this. Maybe working to make the hardware of Dojo an AI type ARM. ARM-ML so to speak.
    Finally, the a product offering blend between real world AI and virtual Ai with LLMs with AI agents, and long term memory models is needed but probably not for Tesla.
    Twitter could also offer some helpful use cases to add AI based community notes and features to deboost conversations against policy. Twitter could offer real world examples (access) while gaining shares in the company
    Twitter, Tesla and potentially Neuralink and SpaceX might be consumers of the Cloud dojo offering while also contributing

    It's also probably better to have separate teams working on AI and Tesla because the teams can focus on their own tasks independently and not be stretched too thin. You can essentially hire twice as many people to be working simultaneously. Then Tesla can borrow technology from the AI company.

    I think the main reason is is giving the Tesla bot conversation and analytical features. Corporations who buy the bots, could just tell them what to do, instead of show them. Also, in the future bots will get more and more human-like, so conversational comprehension is part of that, which will humanize the bots

    A bit of a beginner question here. Is there a difference between LLM and real world AI and the auto labelling done by tesla vision? From what I understand its just the training and data that branches of LLM into the various use case scenarios. Appreciate anyone's feedback in advance

    • @FrunkensteinVonZipperneck

      Tesla uses AI with a target- autonomous driving. Others have created AI software that has no defined purpose- letting the user plan how? and where? to apply it. Goals could be good or … The “generative” construct was framed in 1968 as having “good” results for humanity. But we all know what Trumps humans can be…

    • @Martinit0
      @Martinit0 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, a big one: as the L in LLM implies they work on language, i.e. text. Tesla AI is working on images or video streams and labeling here means giving the AI semantics about features seen in images or video (categorizing features). LLMs don't use labelling - they just make up their own internal representations ("embeddings") and work purely on those. Obviously, the training data must be different, too: LLMs are trained on text whereas Tesla's FSD AI is trained on video.

      @@kennyg1358 Care to elaborate? I’m a long-time observer/fan et al of Elon on the SpaceX side; been to SpaceX HQ a couple of times, worked commercial space, commercial crew, yada yada. The thing I’m zinging off of here, tho, is that Elon says a core reason he’s doing the new AI thing is for ‘truth’- and he’s only used THAT word in the last three years since he started watching Fox daily in early 2020, and been spouting right-wing, anti-factual stuff ever since. (That’s the thing about the ‘Bad Elon’ who bought/runs Twitter: unlike the Good Elon of SpaceX/Tesla, he’s not fact/data-based; in fact I tell folks, based on my knowledge these past years of SpaceX, that SpaceX Elon would fire the anti-fact, anti-data, Bad Elon of Twitter in a hardbeat as a non-reality based employee who could never make a rocket fly, or build an electric car). Hello Dave another highly thoughtful vlog , I have fears that AGI will not have the ability of empathy, to have a brilliant mind and no empathy is a recipe for a cold hearted killer, so with that said put that ability into any system that has control over our future is more than dangerous, for eg when such a system comes on line and evaluate the human race with its pure logic it’s going to be very puzzled why faith and religious acts, the real problem will come with Islam , it will consider these all a negative against its logic, there will be a huge problem for any software to solve on a logical basis, as you say Elon is pushing forward with his efforts to bring some human control over the AGI ability , question can logic and empathy fit together,

    It seems clear that this would not be in Tesla's best interest. In house would be better for Tesla. (clearly it is in Elon's interest, but they have a divide)
