A very nice person sent me a message saying that they wanted to practice qigong but there were no teachers in their town. This is a video for you, and anyone else who wants to balance their qi and feel full of vitality!

My pleasure! Are you a long or short haul driver? I have met truck drivers and they tend to get really "locked up" because of being in the same position for such a long time.
I'm sure Qigong will be helpful either way!

Thank you so much for making this video...I started attending a Qi Gong class in my town several months ago, but it folded after a few weeks, before I'd had the chance to memorise the full routine. I'd really been missing it, I enjoyed it a lot. I've just followed the routine in this video for the first time, and it will now be part of my daily practice. Thank you :)

I started qi gong a few months ago, for flexibilty, I'm 65, which is happening.
Qi gong, practice, the breathing and movements are changing, resoring my life in a way I could not have imagined, I find in a quiet way I am becoming more in touch with life.
I know when I drift in to my head thoughts, attending to both breathing and movements bring me back here, into life.
Best practice I have taken up. Big thank you Jeff. Your videos are so helpful , bright, friendly and clear.
I feel I have enough here and your approach not to need anything else. I listen to my own body, breathing, feelings , body and all feel like they are waking up, becoming alive alongside a quietness.
    Many thanks, Jay

Dear Jeff, I’ve been following your qigong sessions daily for nearly 4 weeks now, and it has been an incredible help. I am trying to cope with all the pain that comes with the break-up of a relationship and it’s hard. The wonderful gentle and energizing way you teach helps me every day. The healing effect and energy building are so amazing and I can’t begin to say how grateful I am to have found your teachings on the net. They now are the best start of the day .....Thank you for being there....

I got bad news today (& was freaked out), so I did the qigong work right away, & didn't hyperventilate (like usual)! I'm surprised how much it helped me (cuz I'm the overly sensitive type). Thanks so much😀.

I’m so happy I found these videos! I’ve had years of body pains and feel this practice could really change my life! It is so much more empowering than getting a massage even though that feels good too! I feel my hands getting warmer and a nice tingly sensation of healing in areas of major tension such as my back and head. Will DEFINITELY continue to practice! Thanks very much :)

Thanks so much for these videos. You are right. I am reenergized and revitalized after doing your Qigong routine. I look forward to it after a long day working remotely in my basement! I used to do it in my backyard among the birds and the trees but now it’s too dark and cold so I found a good spot inside. It’s a nice way to transition from work to home when you are working from home.

I have been to 2 chi gong classes and watched about 20 videos on
youtube. This is the best introductory routine I've seen.
I especially found it easy to breathe in the way that most reduces sympathetic tone
and increases vagal tone with this video. I just make sure the out
breath is longer than the in breath. When I am lying down or just
sitting, I do this by counting 10 in and 15 out.
To be able to continue what I call vagal tone breathing while carefully moving, I make sure
that I breath rhythmically in and out with deep abdominal breathing. I start the in breath by expanding my lower abdomen, then my middle abdomen, then my chest area. To exhale, I repeat this process in reverse.
First I contract by chest muscles. Then I contract my upper abdominal muscles. Finally I contract my lower abdominal and pelvic muscles. I really pull in my lower abdomen at the end of the breath so that I can completely empty my lungs and have the maximum lung volume available to breathe in fresh air.

Thank you for this video! I have watched several Qi Gong videos trying to get into it for relaxation and health benefits. This is by far my favorite that I've watched. I think it's because you're in an office setting giving verbal directions and it seems more realistic for me than some nature scene and calming music lol. I am young and have had so many health issues over the past year and a half. Numbness in my hands, arms, feet, legs and face, TMJ (asymmetrical jaw), migraines, sinus blockage, inguinal hernia surgery, cervical disc bulging and lumbar disc bulging, low energy, depression, anxiety, all over nerve and muscle pain... Trying to find lasting treatment and answers for the numbness even though I suspect my neck and bulging discs they won't give me a formal diagnosis... I am not currently driving or working and under such stress from everything. Acupuncture has helped some but I need to find a better practitioner for long term. I know my Qi is either lacking or stagnant it's just hard for me to get motivation to exercise because my neck starts hurting or my legs go numb. Sorry for the life story. Bottomline: This is giving me some hope! If you have any further tips for me please advise, thank you!

    • @ThinkVitalityQiGong
      @ThinkVitalityQiGong  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Thanks for your comment! I am sorry to hear that you are going through a rough time! One of the best things I heard in your comment is that you are really looking for improvement. Sometimes we can get so down when we are not feeling well and we just stop trying, but I can hear that you are very motivated!
I think you are doing the right thing by incorporating qigong. Often we get pain, then it causes tension, then the tension causes more pain - this is called the Pain-Tension cycle. When we are in it, it's hard to know where to begin.
Obviously, I can't advise what to do specifically about your pain, but I can say that focusing on releasing and unwinding any tension that is hiding in the body will be very helpful. Qigong with it's slow movements is excellent for this!
I suspect that you need an accurate structural diagnosis. It sounds as if there are some compression issues going on and perhaps a good physical therapist, physiotherapist, or osteopath may be able to figure out exactly what's going on.
Keep at it, you'll find improvement!

+ThinkVitality could you plz make a videio for pain or fibromyligia

    • @ThinkVitalityQiGong
      @ThinkVitalityQiGong  7 ปีที่แล้ว

Fibromyalgia can be a complicated condition, as I am sure you know. I would actually recommend this simple routine to begin with. Practice everyday for 2 weeks, even twice a day if you can. After that, there are more specific qi gong exercises to do.
There are many aspects to fibromyalgia. I am sure you have come across this already, but it's best to treat FM holistically. That includes, diet, exercise, sleep, and stress management. Hopefully you are working with a health care "team." Qigong can definitely help in the exercise and stress management area!
I will be making a full pain qi gong video available on my website at www.qigongforvitality.com/ in the near future. Feel free to sign up for our newsletter if you are interested :)

I loved this video. But can I do 5 reps, to start, instead of 10? (I'm having trouble being as "fluid" as you are, with the movements).

Of course! Start with 5, and increase the repetitions over time. There is no hurry, just enjoy the process and find that "flow state!"

This is the first time Qigong for me. The last exercise I felt quite reverberating through me. Is that normal? I feel relaxed after that though

I love this routine. Do you ever come to the Bay Area? How may I convince you to come to Sonoma County CA and teach? Thank you for sharing your gift.

Thanks for 10 min. exercises. I've started from this, but not sure if good to do it after food? Or it does not matter? Greetings from Belgium

      Hello Belgium!
It's best to avoid practice if you have a very full stomach. Most of our bodies energy goes towards digestion after we eat a big meal, especially if it has a lot of different types of foods and flavours. The qigong masters typically eat very simple foods, and never over eat.
You can practice after a light meal though, that's fine. Personally, I prefer practicing on an empty stomach first thing in the morning.
Let me know how your practice goes!
