  • The new Prius is honestly a sight and an experience to behold for a car that has never been looked to as being “cool”.
Toyota’s design language for their hybrid lineup has certainly helped push buyers towards a more fuel efficient direction, but also now with a 7 second 0-60 time and a quiet cabin you could say the Prius is now inspiring as an economical daily driver.
In this video we'll take a deep dive into the 2024 Toyota Prius Limited to see if it's the ultimate hybrid this decade.
Huge thank you to AutoFair Toyota in Tewksbury, MA for providing this Toyota Prius for this review.

Very good review, you really cover the car and the context that it serves. Fantastic.

    Good review.
Toyota's new 5th generation Prius has undergone a major change in appearance, and I think it has become even cooler. It looks like a coupe style sedan.
Because the front pillars are large, the top of the instrument panel is deeper than the previous model, making it difficult to see the bonnet and the tip of the body. The rear seats feel a little cramped because the seating position is low.
Power performance has been significantly improved compared to the previous model. The hybrid system is now in its fifth generation and has improved driving force in the practical rotation range. Improved power performance makes driving easier and fuel efficiency is better.

The Toyota that basically exists only in TH-cam reviews. You have better odds of finding a Bigfoot, a unicorn, or a Dodo bird on a Toyota lot than a Prius.

Well, you are not far off. This redesigned model is very rare "on the street". It's been at least two years since the new model was introduced and to date, I've only seen three of them on the road. We ordered our Prime back in 2022 and, 21 months later it landed. Long wait for sure, but, on the bright side, we ended-up with the 2024 model. And that one as you know, has several advantages over the older car. We also lost over $2,000 in trade allowance as the 2012 Model C was close to two years older than when we ordered the new one (still got half of what we paid for it 12 ears ago though !). Plus, we had to absorb two model year price increases.
Still, we expect the 24 Prime to save us at least $ 1,600+ per year in gas. There's almost 1,100 miles on the thing and nearly half of the Dealer Fill-up tank is unused. We'll hit 2,000Km on the first tank (and, summer isn't here yet). This car is as good as a full EV but at less than 2/3 the price.

Unfortunately the new Toyota Prius way massively overpriced; Every dealer seems to add another $2000-3000 on the MSRP for this car. It's insane.

They’re priced at MSRP in the north east. I also got $4,500 off with a lease incentive.

Nice review Mike. Too bad this car lacks a spare tire… a deal breaker for me… waiting for the 2025 Camry….

I find it curious you don't mention that the steering wheel can hide the dash due to the display size and placement, nor the fact that rear window vision is nearly impossible due to the sloping. Other reviewers have also found the shifter difficult to work due to its cheap materials and mechanism. Good review otherwise

The steering wheel is tilt/telescoping, allowing for easy repositioning, while the seat height is also adjustable. Individuals who struggle with these basic adjustments and have difficulty viewing the instrument/gauge cluster may want to reconsider their readiness to drive. Regarding rearview visibility, the digital rearview mirror serves its purpose effectively, rendering traditional mirrors somewhat redundant. As for concerns about the shifter being "difficult to work," it's a matter of adapting to modern technology. Unlike older models, you don't need excessive force to shift gears; simply tilt it to the desired mode and release.

You can lower the steering wheel!
