The time in my life when i was at my best thus far was when i was disciplined in doing this twice daily as well as the middle pillar, hexagrams, and spent much of my free time in meditation and reading. I fell out of it due to my own weakness during the most difficult part of my life. I am currently coming out of that and into what is going to be my greatest time. While difficult, it has taught me so many important lessons that i needed. I am now stronger than i have ever been and restarting my spiritual practices and studies. That’s pretty dope. I’ve noticed similar things with animals now too, prior it was always a wonder if something was truly alive! Now everything radiates, and animals in particular have a strange communicative quality. To be fair, I think this practice overflows you with sensory... gusto ¿ or, as some interpret it, psychic shenanigans, giving you a greater awareness to your body/brain’s local space. Him I am 16 years old and I do the Lesser Banishing ritual of the Pentagram one or two times at month. Every time I do this I feel all demonic entities go away and my room be cleansed and guarded by the four archangels in the four quarters. I think to try also the Middle Pillar ritual.

Not all spirits that are attracted to this energy are bad, some are just curious, but there are always creatures to be careful of; just as there are good and evil people. In easy terms, think of this like how bugs are attracted to light, most of the times just harmless flies come to the light, but there is always a chance a wasp could be drawn to it as well. Do you think it's possible that the Golden Dawn presentation of this ritual was purposefully publicized in a way that is not in alignment with the proper way on purpose so as the adept could find that Michael(fire) is in the East, and Raphael(air) in the North? is this the lesser banishing pentagram? I though i should draw it from left corner to up and to banish and from right corner to left down to invoke..wich is correct?
I have preferred vibrating at a higher pitch than what most people think is necessary. A lot of videos or masters vibrate a very guttural sound. It works for them, I’m sure. For me, personally I can hear the overtones in my voice at higher pitches. It sounds like more than one voice is vibrating with mine, which makes it feel like the divine is singing with me. I’m glad you pointed out the vibrations don’t need to sound barbaric. 😂
Could you possibly do a video on properly executing the gestures like the Projection sign and the Sign of Silence? I always thought the diagrams showed just one state of the movement, no?
Oh yeah that’s true but only like the sign of silence & enterer from what I’ve seen. Seems like Thelema puts a much heavier emphasis on signing... I’ve been trying to find information on why the GD attributes Raphael to the East & Michael to the south; when if you look at the elements on the pentagram & even the Sephirot, Michael should be in the East for Fire & Raphael North for air(unless you attribute them to different elements.) Thought to share and ask: This is pertaining the LBRP Battery. I had this experience not long ago and I am looking for insight. So I finished doing the battery LBRP as I chanted the name ADONAI HA ARETZ during the MP I sensed hands reaching up and I heard several knocks under my feet but from under the home! I thought it was my mind playing tricks on me, and I decided to ignore it. But it kept on happening so I stopped chanting and look at my feet, it feel as if the floor was being lifted from underneath. I thought to stop the ritual but then I decided to wait until I finished and after that I went outside the house to check if someone have gotten under the home, but the entrance was closed. This is the first time I experienced this particular happening.For a moment I thought I was going to be pulled down by some hands. In certain occasions when chanting the names during the MP I experience a sensation as if I was going to detach from the body. Do the names have the ability to absorb us to the point of separation of the soul from the body? I felt like I am in two places. So I been told with the LBRP things start happening (I am not new to paranormal events prior of practicing LBRP) Another thing I experienced is feeling a presence behind me, the energy is strong, sometimes is very close to me, I can feel it breathing on me. This still happens. In one occasion a black pentagram materialized in front of me with Spirit above and matter below/ standing on the two legs. It stood there in front of me and I observing it and wanting to touch it, but I didn't and after a few seconds it vanished. I wonder about the meaning of this. I was thinking maybe the home is built on top of a grave yard, but not sure. Could it be possible that chanting that name upset anyone below? But I have done the ritual in the same spot several times before, that's the usual space, and this is the first time I experience this, the knocks and the hands reaching up under my feet. Other times I have heard voices but I can't make up what are they saying. Should I worry? I guess worry will not solve a thing. I like to understand if is a positive thing or there is something else I need to do or to stop it altogether, the ritual. Do you have any suggestions, comments, insights? Hi magus, you dont need to walk widdershin to close this ritual. The closing will be done through the closing pentagram, which takes place in the individual cardinal directions. We hope this answer is helpful for you. All the best from the BOEL Team .
Would it not make sense to do each pentagram starting at the element assigned to that cardinal direction? For example, if the direction of Raphael is in the East and he is Air then the pentagram in his direction can be done starting at the Air point of the pentagram. Another thing, how about doing the banishing ritual counter-clockwise and the invoking clockwise?
Dear Abe, many thanks for the comment. What you mentioned is the advanced form of opening the individual directions with a pentagram. Here you proceed as described by you, starting in the east at the "air point" of the pentagram, in the south at the "fire point" and so on. To your question counterclockwise or clockwise, it is so that it can be used counterclockwise to close, and clockwise to open. We are generally have the opinion that you don't have to banish anything in magic. If you know how to deal with powers, you can bring them back to their proper place, but you don't have to ban them. Hi Xaldor, It is a protective ritual used to banish negative energies, spirits, and spells cast against you, hence, its common association as a symbol of protection. With this little ritual the magician wants to invoke powers or send them back. We dont like to title this banishing. Its more about putting unbalanced powers back to their correct place. The element of the north is used because it contains all elements. Earth is the result of the equal combination of the three elements of Air, Fire and Water. Both may work. It is a question of what you are intending. The archangels may function as guardians outside of the pentagram. If inside you may work with them in a ritual or meditation. Those aspects are taught in general in teachings from person to person. Hello 161157gor, When you perform a ritual, it is best to have your eyes open just to avoid knocking over anything ;-) In general there are of course moments - e.g. In a meditation during a ritual - when it is appropriate to close your eyes. The pentagram ritual in particular can certainly also be performed with closed eyes in the individual directions if you like. The main point is to visualize the Pentagram very well. Question: if I open a circle with invoking pentagrams, then say I put energy into a Talisman, amulet, Servitor or candle while n the circle, won’t I just end up removing all of that energy that I charged into those items at the end of the ritual, if I preform a banishing pentagram ritual? It is my understanding that a banishing will totally remove all energies from the circle , including the items that I just put energy into?

hi in any banishing ritual you have to remove every thing that you ve charged, put it as far from the circle as you can, if it's close put it (wand talisman...) in a black cloth (black is good for prevent the item to be bombarded by the energy you use in banishing, but white still work do it with what you have), i suggest you to check the damien echols channel on YT he 's a true reliable source of knowledge in théurgie, and will answer more efficiently your interogations i'm a beginner and his work is more than helpfull he's a true master on energy work, you can go wrong with him. the vid here is helpfull too gestual visualisation and vibration are the fundamental in any ritual
My Tools are charged once when I begin working with them and they stay charged. I’ve never heard anything about the clearing of energies when you perform a banishing ritual and or a closing of a circle. The circle is not the tools. Much of this theory doesn’t make sense to me. The way I see how this works involves actually doing work outside the circle with the tools as they are “living”, I don’t expect them to becoming some useless object after I close the circle. What would be the point of that?
I heard some concerns related to LBRP: if you practicing only earth banishing(closing) form of the pentagram then you may have some troubles with material(earth) things such as money. So you have to balance it with the opening form(LIRP). Any thought? Thank you.

Hi Jemimah! You can use the pentagram ritual as the beginning (opening) and as the end (closing form) of a ritual which can help you get in touch with higher spiritual beings, e.g. archangels. You can gain spiritual development with their light and wisdom, or receive valuable insights, especially if you do some effort yourself. And yes, you may also gain access to the inner realms more easily, due to the quarters opened. For instance, if you want to use the pentagram ritual to support your meditations, to make them deeper and help you gain a better access to your higher self, you can do so. Just open the quarters, then meditate, then close. (Do not forget the Qabbalistic cross.) It is of course not necessary to open and close, because you can meditate without it (obviously), but it might be worth an try. AND it is a good way to put the pentagram ritual to a good use, if you like to practice it anyway! Where do Mantras like OHM or AUM or HU come into affect? Your opening EEHHHH and AHHHH seemed to reach deep into my core. I have been out breathing deeply when I chant to push everything out from my HARA.

Do you think it's possible that the Golden Dawn presentation of this ritual was purposefully publicized in a way that is not in alignment with the proper way on purpose so as the adept could find that Michael(fire) is in the East, and Raphael(air) in the North? I have preferred vibrating at a higher pitch than what most people think is necessary. A lot of videos or masters vibrate a very guttural sound. It works for them, I’m sure. For me, personally I can hear the overtones in my voice at higher pitches. It sounds like more than one voice is vibrating with mine, which makes it feel like the divine is singing with me. I’m glad you pointed out the vibrations don’t need to sound barbaric. 😂

Thought to share and ask: This is pertaining the LBRP Battery. I had this experience not long ago and I am looking for insight.
So I finished doing the battery LBRP as I chanted the name ADONAI HA ARETZ during the MP I sensed hands reaching up and I heard several knocks under my feet but from under the home! I thought it was my mind playing tricks on me, and I decided to ignore it. But it kept on happening so I stopped chanting and look at my feet, it feel as if the floor was being lifted from underneath. I thought to stop the ritual but then I decided to wait until I finished and after that I went outside the house to check if someone have gotten under the home, but the entrance was closed. This is the first time I experienced this particular happening.For a moment I thought I was going to be pulled down by some hands. In certain occasions when chanting the names during the MP I experience a sensation as if I was going to detach from the body. Do the names have the ability to absorb us to the point of separation of the soul from the body? I felt like I am in two places. So I been told with the LBRP things start happening (I am not new to paranormal events prior of practicing LBRP) Another thing I experienced is feeling a presence behind me, the energy is strong, sometimes is very close to me, I can feel it breathing on me. This still happens. In one occasion a black pentagram materialized in front of me with Spirit above and matter below/ standing on the two legs. It stood there in front of me and I observing it and wanting to touch it, but I didn't and after a few seconds it vanished. I wonder about the meaning of this. I was thinking maybe the home is built on top of a grave yard, but not sure. Could it be possible that chanting that name upset anyone below? But I have done the ritual in the same spot several times before, that's the usual space, and this is the first time I experience this, the knocks and the hands reaching up under my feet. Other times I have heard voices but I can't make up what are they saying. Should I worry? I guess worry will not solve a thing. I like to understand if is a positive thing or there is something else I need to do or to stop it altogether, the ritual. Do you have any suggestions, comments, insights? you dont need to walk widdershin to close this ritual. The closing will be done through the closing pentagram, which takes place in the individual cardinal directions.

Would it not make sense to do each pentagram starting at the element assigned to that cardinal direction? For example, if the direction of Raphael is in the East and he is Air then the pentagram in his direction can be done starting at the Air point of the pentagram. Another thing, how about doing the banishing ritual counter-clockwise and the invoking clockwise?

many thanks for the comment. What you mentioned is the advanced form of opening the individual directions with a pentagram. Here you proceed as described by you, starting in the east at the "air point" of the pentagram, in the south at the "fire point" and so on. To your question counterclockwise or clockwise, it is so that it can be used counterclockwise to close, and clockwise to open. We are generally have the opinion that you don't have to banish anything in magic. If you know how to deal with powers, you can bring them back to their proper place, but you don't have to ban them. Why would you use the earth banishing pentagram only and not the banishing pentagram for each element respectively?

It is a protective ritual used to banish negative energies, spirits, and spells cast against you, hence, its common association as a symbol of protection. With this little ritual the magician wants to invoke powers or send them back. We dont like to title this banishing. Its more about putting unbalanced powers back to their correct place.
The element of the north is used because it contains all elements. Earth is the result of the equal combination of the three elements of Air, Fire and Water. Therefore, the Earth Pentagram stands in for all of the other Pentagrams.

Both may work. It is a question of what you are intending. The archangels may function as guardians outside of the pentagram. If inside you may work with them in a ritual or meditation. Those aspects are taught in general in teachings from person to person. Eyes Open or Closed during the Ritual ?

When you perform a ritual, it is best to have your eyes open just to avoid knocking over anything ;-)
In general there are of course moments - e.g. In a meditation during a ritual - when it is appropriate to close your eyes.
The pentagram ritual in particular can certainly also be performed with closed eyes in the individual directions if you like. The main point is to visualize the Pentagram very well.

Question: if I open a circle with invoking pentagrams, then say I put energy into a Talisman, amulet, Servitor or candle while n the circle, won’t I just end up removing all of that energy that I charged into those items at the end of the ritual, if I preform a banishing pentagram ritual? It is my understanding that a banishing will totally remove all energies from the circle , including the items that I just put energy into?

The opening and closing is to open and close the directions. During the ritual you must of course know what you are doing. Its not done only by closing the directions and everything what has ben done wrong is gone.

hi in any banishing ritual you have to remove every thing that you ve charged, put it as far from the circle as you can, if it's close put it (wand talisman...) in a black cloth (black is good for prevent the item to be bombarded by the energy you use in banishing, but white still work do it with what you have), i suggest you to check the damien echols channel on YT he 's a true reliable source of knowledge in théurgie, and will answer more efficiently your interogations i'm a beginner and his work is more than helpfull he's a true master on energy work, you can go wrong with him. the vid here is helpfull too gestual visualisation and vibration are the fundamental in any ritual
Well it would seem so.
My Tools are charged once when I begin working with them and they stay charged. I’ve never heard anything about the clearing of energies when you perform a banishing ritual and or a closing of a circle. The circle is not the tools. Much of this theory doesn’t make sense to me. The way I see how this works involves actually doing work outside the circle with the tools as they are “living”, I don’t expect them to becoming some useless object after I close the circle. What would be the point of that?
I heard some concerns related to LBRP: if you practicing only earth banishing(closing) form of the pentagram then you may have some troubles with material(earth) things such as money. So you have to balance it with the opening form(LIRP). Any thought? Thank you.

Hi Jemimah! You can use the pentagram ritual as the beginning (opening) and as the end (closing form) of a ritual which can help you get in touch with higher spiritual beings, e.g. archangels. You can gain spiritual development with their light and wisdom, or receive valuable insights, especially if you do some effort yourself.
And yes, you may also gain access to the inner realms more easily, due to the quarters opened. For instance, if you want to use the pentagram ritual to support your meditations, to make them deeper and help you gain a better access to your higher self, you can do so. Just open the quarters, then meditate, then close. (Do not forget the Qabbalistic cross.) It is of course not necessary to open and close, because you can meditate without it (obviously), but it might be worth an try. AND it is a good way to put the pentagram ritual to a good use, if you like to practice it anyway!

Chanting and vibrating of the holy names, as in the Pentagram ritual, is a similar technique to the mantras you mentioned. Its purpose in the Qabbalah is to call upon the Divine principles connected with the name used.

In general its better to have a special place for a ritual, but its not necessary.
