It makes me a little sad that the few times I have considered joining and actually gone to the lodge or spoken to masons, I got the strong impression that modern masonry is dominated by hubris, elitism, and the worship of power. It's true the way to a man's heart is through his stomach! And the knowledge and wisdom those beautiful ladies discuss is a treat to participate in whenever I get the chance.
And in Minnesota we too have a masonic home for our older brothers that need assistance. And in our Scottish Rite lodge we take care of the widows of passed brothers if they need help with bills, or scholarships for their children.
