We fully understand the the connection between Stark and this noble family. And Stark received the closure he needed within these 3 months. We also got the next step for Stark and Fern. They are gradually falling in love with each other. And I for one hope that grandma Frieren will watch over their children and continue to train each new generation of amazing heroes who will continue to protect this world.
Pretty sure Lindsay was nailing it with some basic good axioms there around 4:20 - 4:32 range in the video. Based upon the order of the party members succumbing to the curse and all other relevant information we had that Stark would be the first to fall, then Fern who would definitely be weaker than Frieren and then finally Frieren because while a powerful mage she is no Priest/Priestess.
You might miss this but Frieren incorporate anything she knows as humanity magic. This could partly stem from her master teaching who happen to be the founder of humanity magic but also partly because elf is probably so depleted as a race that they are pretty much just being absorb and incorporate into humanity in general.
There was a knight called "El Cid" - Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, he was so important for the army that when he died they couldn't let anyone else know that because there was a battle haead and he inspired his men so they strapped the corpse to his horse and went to war. Even though this is mostly a rumor created by the monks, strong warriors, soldiers and generals always inspire and rise the morale of an army and that is highly important, that why the son was important on that party. On times like that with no instant information like today you couldn't know a person died if it wasnt announced.
2:46 as far as we know there's no such thing as "elf's magic" in the frieren world. remember that both frieren and her enemies always refer to her as a user of humanity's magic! When Draht the demon tried to kill frieren back when she was imprisoned in her cell, he said that humanity's magic could never cut his wire.. he was not being stupid there, he realizes she's an elf, it's just that she's an user of humanity's magic. Also worth pointing out: in this world, elves, dwarves and humans all fall into the umbrella term of "humankind", and they are the natural enemies of "demonkind". In battles against demons you'll always see frieren being grouped together as part of humanity.
Two things about the German names: - my new favourite is the butler. His name is Gabel, which literally means "fork" lol - I believe the dead sons name is supposed to be Wild not Wirt. Wirt means innkeeper or host, Wild means wild and imo fits the naming scheme the series goes with way better. (Also German sub uses Wild too)
the relationship between fern and stark builds up so good imo nothing comes in an instant and you can see they slowly have some moments together... even frieren seemed to realize theres something going on, giving her smile at them^^
The Orden family dynamic seems to be like a "good version" of Stark's family. But damn poor eldest son dying in both versions lol. It was sweet that during the dance at first there were no eye contact, then Stark became confident which made Fern at ease eventually and enjoyed themselves.
It's nice to have a strait forward romance no wishy washy willy they won't they no love triangle doesn't feel tacked on non of the normal anime bullshit just a natural building romance also starck village stuff was great and per usual it doesn't say more then it needs to diolage just feels natural love this show.

The stones by the sided of the road aren't necessarily shrines or graves. Much rather, they remind me of the type of waystones that you can frequently find in rural parts of Europe. These usually have markings pointing to nearby villages or towns so that people wouldn't get lost. I grew up in a region like that. Many of the villages were more than a millenia old and the dirtpaths between them were dotted with waystones like that. I was specifically taught how to read those in primary school. Many of them are hundreds of years old, using outdated systems of measurement, but there's no real reason to remove them, so people just let them be or replace them when they erode over time. Placing food or other useful things by them (I even used to see rain coats or simple building materials for tents made from sticks and blankets) was frequently something people just did for local huntsmen or travellers. I assume you don't have these things where you are from? As for other things: "Klee" means clover. Doughnuts are based on recipes that were well known throughout the medieval period across Europe. But as you've noted, dutch migrants brought them to the americas and popularized them before they were refined into the modern sweet with a hole in the middle. So it's a centuries old recipe, but doughnuts as sweets are more of a 19th/20th century derivative.
You can speculate that Lord Orden's grandfather/ancestors disagreed with the ways of the previous warrior village and migrated to the North. It kind of implies that consideration and patience is more successful overall than strict and harsh attitude to training, which i definitely agree with. Really cool stuff.

Frieren and Fern are wizards, because they learn magic by studying, and use the magic they have mastered and learned during their training, they can write in their grimoire the amount of spells they want to "prepare" them for a specific situation, and also learn new ones. types of magic by reading grimoires or spell books. Unlike sorcerers, who are born with an innate ability to use a specific branch of magic, or were exposed to magic in a unique way that materially modified them. Sorcerers have a more limited use of spells, but they "know" their spells by instinct, they do not have an understanding of how their spells work at the level of wizards, because they do not need to study them to evoke them, they only need a channeler, as a talisman, a ritual, a mantra, or a prayer, etc. In this case Sein is a sorcerer, because his spells come from the grace of the goddess, and he was born with the innate ability to conjure holy magic but he cannot learn to use other types of magic through training or studying it.
I don’t think it was inherently an “engagement ring” in sense of she didn’t technically consent to being engaged and also it was more a symbolic gesture of love that Frieren couldn’t possibly understand at the time. It’s totally in character for Himmel to let her know how he feels about her without expecting her to reciprocate but to be able to understand him at some point

Every fcking Episode is brutal nuts. Complicated things become for both in this time not this heavy burden. Its a bit releasing.
