That was a really great video, lots of good and useful information. Years back I did a GC widebody and the front factory steel fenders I gutted and used just a skeleton of them so I would not be bolting fiberglass onto steel at the hood line, I also used the factory steel turn signal pockets and cut out the side marker steel piece and attached them so the lights were again attached to a piece of steel rather than fiberglass. The rear quarters I cut off ALL the extra crap that covers the trunk and ran a straight line that transitions into the body nicely. Laying another layer on the quarter just puts the area and boot off unnecessarily. At the tail lights I cut back about 1.5 inches and then transition to the edge of the tail lights. I think the kits give too much material and if you are using carbon and not painting then you run into other issues. Thanks again! Subscribed! Oh yeah I also lay at least one other layer of glass on the inside of the panels which does add weight but cheaper kits are usually a bit light and if someone leans on the car and cracks it well that sucks.
@@johnleca thats sweet, appreciate you sharing your experience. I definitely will be reinforcing some of these panels for the flex factor. The rear quarters will be cut back for transition sake. Its nice how thin the carbon is compared to traditional fibreglass. Should be quick work on clean transitions! Stay tuned for the next progress vid!
I’ve been looking at body kits online and ABW kit for my RS! But I couldn’t decide since they are both around 2600 dollars but this was a good walk around for the BKO kit!
@@HelloMr.George ive used both brands, abw and BKO, for canada, the BKO kit is half the price of the abw and as you can see i was pleasantly surprised how well it fit and the quality.
How do they stack up against the Launsport kit? I have one sitting at home waiting for install. Also, I appreciate these GC videos , they're aren't many in TH-cam.
Same here! I have a compare vid with the launsport coming out in 2 weeks! Among the fibreglass kits, i feel the launsport is the absolute best in quality, fit and styling accuracy
Does anyone know what upgrades I can do to a 2013 Subaru Impreza sport? It’s not a Wrx sadly but I’m wanting to do an engine swap just not sure what will fit
@@umczeal3276 the 11+ impreza is a tough one. Not much available other then suspension, maybe a lip. Any motor will fit, but it is a massive job to make a turbo motor run in the 13 impreza
Its not about fitment its about the longevity, Ive bought BKO products 2 times and both times i was waiting 4+ months and let down. Never again, and none of the products made it to my car.
Composition is near same as abw, hate to say it but near on par at that. This bko kit bought used had sat for half a decade in a garage with crap piled on it. No decay, no spider cracking. What kit did you end up using? I waited 7 months for my launsport kit
Good day. The parcels we send are international and sometimes it takes a long time to deliver them, also we cannot be responsible for customs and various delays of parcels, so they can go for a long time, we try to send as quickly as possible, even if there are situations of loss, breakage or long delivery times, we find a solution to the situation with any of our clients. Thank you for your comment
