Popped into a garage and needed to tighten a chain on the WR250R (yea you want one), so I decided to share it with you guys/gals out there.

I'm pretty sure you still have to smack it to bring the wheel forward and or put tension on the chain..the nuts alone won't move it forward.

The Notches on the left side of the axle the one without the nut, are different from the notches on the right side of the axle with the nut. so using them is not accurate at all

I did it the other day but was surprised to see that the tightness was actually in spec. Yamaha says between .3 - .5 inches from the bottom of the swingarm to the top of the chain when the chain is being pushed up towards the swingarm. I was around .5 and thought it seemed really loose.

So that nut doesn't need a cotter pin, how often do you change the nut to make sure it won't come off on its own.

I wouldn’t go 3 1/2 for the chain. I did it to mine and the chain almost snapped

You are in Orlando? I'm looking for locals to ride with. Both on and off road.

+DirtRider WR250R The Wr250R is not mine but from what I know it has to be stock since Michael bought and had it since new. The front tire for road use wears away pretty fast

He's running a T63 Michelin. It fits on the Honda crf250l 2012 to 2015 at least and also on the 2015-2017 Yamaha WR250R, perhaps more.
I recognize it as my buddy got it on his bike. It's not the stock tire in 2017, that'd be a Bridgestone tire.
I haven't had both tires on the same bike, but the Michelin boasts better traction in the dessert especially, while it's good for mud and rocks as well. I think it's a really good design.
The Michelin according to one review has 1 fault. It tracks into water tracks ahead of you on the street...I'd think other tires would do that too.
      Still very streetable.
