      In instruction dimensions are 51 cm long and 8 kg weight… Now it kit started sales in Portugal. 1-st number was 0.50 € price, just now 2-nd number price is 4.99 €… About 108 numbers must have for completing assembling car, it’s about 539 € cost for 2 year if price not be rising. But I not sure… Price will be more…

    hello good morning. I am about to finish it and I would like to know if you could tell me what type of battery it takes to make the electrical system work. I'm from Spain and I'm building it with the Planeta De Agostini publishing house but these don't include the battery and they couldn't tell me what type of battery it is🤷🏻‍♂️

    Warning I also subscribed for the 1/8 GT40. I received 14 months of subscriptions then they stopped arriving but was still charged. I’ve reached out to DeAgostini several times over the past few months. Their response they’re working on it. Still no resolution

    COOL!!!!!!!!! Im not fan of this kind of kits by suscription (are sooo expensive, their flaws) but your work is great with this one too. Congrats, I envy your mate 👍👍👍

    Hi, which parts did you use for the dash and carbs? Are they available to buy from somewhere? It looks great, thanks

    • @IanLawrenceModels
      @IanLawrenceModels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Phil. The dash and carb detailing bits were custom 3D printed parts I made up for this build. There maybe some folks out there who sell upgrade parts for the DeAg/Altaya GT40, I got the dash top vent of a seller on ebay so i'm certain there are others. All the best, ILM

    Do you have to paint any parts? Or are can you just fit them without having to do anything?

    • @IanLawrenceModels
      @IanLawrenceModels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don't have to paint anything, it can be built with all the parts as supplied. I only did a lot of repainting and modification as that's what I wanted. All the best, ILM

    How much does it cost to build the whole model after receiving all parts? And how long does it take to build?

    • @IanLawrenceModels
      @IanLawrenceModels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sharif, the whole lot belongs to my best friend who i built it for so not sure how much it all cost but at a guess, about £1000 for the parts spread ove 2 years I think. As for how long, I had all the parts so for me it was about 8 hrs a day for 10 days. All the best, ILM

    Absolutely fantastic details! And the "warmup lap" painting looks realistically good. How did you made it? Is it possible to do this by myself with 1/24th scale or smaller models?

    • @IanLawrenceModels
      @IanLawrenceModels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many thanks Rico. The weathering was just drybrushing, I used Vallejo acrylic German Grey and Medium Grey. I see no reason why it can't be done on 1/24th or smaller models. All the best, ILM

    Is the kit good for beginners?

    • @IanLawrenceModels
      @IanLawrenceModels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kalidos. That would depend on the 'beginner' to be honest and that's something that's impossible for me to judge. If a builder has done only a few models then I would usually say no but, It would be a good idea for anyone to look at some of the build vlogs on TH-cam and the like who have built this step by step and decide from there. All the best, ILM

    The worst part is the front roof line, so wrong.

    Be very careful buying anything from ModelSpace. They sold me something they didn't have. I was asked if I wished for the parts be sent when in stock but said they didn't know if they would ever be available. DeAgostini, CuttySark is now $500 worth of kindling for my fireplace. be warned.

    • @IanLawrenceModels
      @IanLawrenceModels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could not agree with you more Jess. DeAgo/Modelspace used to be very good but over the past couple of years thet have taken more than a bit of a nose dive in service quality.
      What with Eaglemoss going bust as well, it's not good for those who want things like this if there's no assurance you'll get what you're paying for. Last one I did for myself was the X-Wing, thankfully completed so done and done.
      All the best, ILM.
