I basically just go through the standard process of buying a pre-built, transplanting it into a fancy looking case, and the adding a GPU. So far it has been working out pretty well, great video!

Big long Phillips screwdriver from a dollar shop, while you're there get a set of small precision screwdrivers, assorted zip ties and some WD40 or cheap 'multipurpose' spray. Thermal paste? DeepCool G5 is decent and cheap, keeps my 1700X and GTX970 nice and cool.

I don't know how to sell computers on Ebay. I only buy them. But based on experience here in Germany, I think I know what the formula is:
    1) Ensure the photo is blurred and with inadequate lighting (you don't want people to see all the scratches and yellowing).
    2) Don't give details in the description. Always refer to the photos for details.
    3) If it's a retro PC, don't include photos of the back of the PC. Someone might guess it is an AT rather than ATX case and bid much more for it.
    4) Always include a photo of some part of the inside of the PC. Make sure all part numbers are obscured.
    5) Don't accept PayPal (they might open a case against you when the find out it doesn't work).
    6) Don't provide tracking information. Don't mark the item as shipped. Don't reply to questions from buyers about shipping. Ship when it is convenient for you. If that's 2 days after the estimated delivery, that's not your problem.
    7) Remember that newspaper can be used for packaging. No need to use expensive cardboard boxes.
    8) Don't test anything. If you test it, you might find out it doesn't work. But always mention that you haven't tested it, in the description. Don't accept returns.
    9) Don't clean anything before selling it. A thick layer of dust makes it attractive to people looking to spend a few days cleaning it as a fixer-up-erer. Extra points for smudges of dirt, grass, hay, rust and spiders.
    10) If anything goes wrong, blame the buyer. After all, the buyer isn't paying the Ebay fees, are they!
    11) If you are selling motherboards, always sell the IO shield separately. Same goes for monitors: cables in another ad. Neglect to mention this in the description, but make sure the photo does not show any cables. And remember, there's quite a market for manuals, original boxes and the like. Sell those separately. Voodoo cards go without the pass-through cable. Don't forget to mention in the ad that it comes with no extra accessories though. You don't want a claim against you from a stupid buyer who doesn't understand that you are trying to make money.
    12) Mark all packaging as "Fragile". This will ensure it gets extra rough treatment during shipping, and you can get your money back for damage in transit. It's much easier than dealing with a claim because the item didn't work.
    13) Always remember that there a hundreds of thousands of buyers out there. For every buyer stupid enough to throw their money at you, there's thousands more out there. You shouldn't aim to get word-of-mouth advertising or repeat business, it's a waste of effort and money.

Lenovo makes some pretty decent stuff, I had a lenovo thinkpad that I got off a factory refurb deal like 5 years ago and it's still running strong. I've since passed it on to a friend of mine but as far as I know he hasn't had any problems with it. I'm hard on laptops buy they have excellent build quality, they're built like tanks.

I just got a dell Xps i7 at work to fix with a dead board. Looks exactly like the Vostro inside with the literal only difference being the amount of rams sticks and the gpu cooler. Such a innovative company making different model lines and just changing the plastic front panel. Great video, you never really think your going to sell your pc's but once you build one you end up building dozens. Then your running out of tvs to put pc's in, you already made a network storage out of one, you have a bunch of old ones with different Linux builds, using one to heat your basement by just running prime all the time, and your family all has one but rather use a laptop..... but it saddens you a little to see that computer your not using sit there cold, alone, and longing for its 780ti to be gamed on.

Picked up a similar PC to that Vostro a couple of months ago for the bargain price of £40... Acer Aspire M5811, i7 860, HD 5450 (stuck in a spare Quaddro K600 1gb from a Dell Precision dual CPU T5500 I picked up recently for a bargain too at £99), 4gb RAM, 600GB HDD... It had an old BIOS that was keeping the Turbo boost down to only 2.6ghz instead of the 3.46ghz which is probably why the guy was selling it so cheap, quick BIOS update and runs pretty decent.

How do people generally fell about case windows, I've never cared much for them. In my previous desk setup, the PC was on top at the right, so it could have shown a window, but now it's under desk on the left... The case for my new build has some LED front fan action, but that's about it - oh, and I went with the newer fashion of PSU low, just hope that doesn't bite me with the PSU cable length otherwise I'll be waiting for extensions, as the original system donates the 500W Silverstone PSU and gets my spare FSP 300W to keep it running - yeah, a X4 965 (125W TDP) and GTX 750Ti is a bit of a squeeze for a 300W, but it's a FSP that can do nearly all the power on the 12V, unlike some cheap and nasties!

Great content as usual the yes man. I'm sorry n the UK and I think being honest when flogging a PC best way to go, if I've I sold the GPU from the PC as it standalone value is better I'll let it be known from the get go, that I've sold the GPU separately and to be honest probably better for the buyer to know they can put whatever GPU they want for there needs in there

As for the white goo-ey stuff: I've had decent results with Arctic Ceramique 2, but it's quite hard to spread and usually would look a bit different ... the stuff in the vid looks like the cheap Coolermaster (IC Value or so) stuff.
Edit: As for parting out PCs: What I mostly swap around are HDD, Ram and PSU. HDD and RAM don't really make a difference unless they're actually used, as for PSUs I sometimes find PCs with hilarious overkill PSUs in them, which I swap for ones more in line with the PCs specs.

I love it when I see another 5820k in the wild, that's what I've currently got in my Asus X99a ii motherboard. I think I went over kill on the RAM though with 32 GB quad channel Corsair 3000 MHz RAM. Since I don't know anything about overclocking I used the Asus AI automatic overclock and it seems to run my RAM at a clock speed of 1333. the timings are 15-17-17-35. To anyone who is educated in overclocking, do these numbers sound normal? From my perspective 1333 seems really low... But I guess because it's quad channel, it's all added together or something. I wish I knew someone local to help me

I sell computer parts online for a living. Selling a fully working PC online is pretty much pointless. Installing Windows takes more time than you'd spend shipping out the various parts. You'd make just as much selling a motherboard with RAM and CPU installed and selling the GPU separately and scrap the rest, than if you sold the fully working machine. And shipping a computer case is a hassle I hate dealing with. Locally, refurbed PCs are worthless. A PC with a RX550, i7-8700 and a couple SSDs that would sell for $475 on ebay would be lucky to sell for $200, $250 tops locally. I pretty much gave up on the local market.
