That wall is done.Needs new wall board and a sheet or liquid waterproofing membrane before the tile

I’ve made many of these repairs removing the tiles and drywall then reinstall concrete backer and retile the wall and sometimes retile the whole shower or bathroom walls and flooring

You replaced a spout that was angled down so the water would not run back against the wall, cool.

I had the same problem but in my case the spout only leaked when the shower was turned on and the leak was in the wall and not visible from the tub side. A new spout fixed my problem. The old spout was unbelievably corroded. I installed a $11 access door to see the leak. I had installed silicone sealant all around the old spout which may be why the water ran down the wall and not on the tub side.
She needs cement board for sure. The old methods of tile install were a problem waiting to happen.
I would like to try some of that Portuguese grub. There seems to be a lot of it in your area.
How do you join 6 in. pipe to tub drain since you can't solder joint?
Try taking a file to the back side of the spout. File down those deposits. Sometimes that’s all you need to stop the water from rolling towards the wall.
Been watching a few of your videos trying to diagnose my bathtub leaking down to the floor below too. Was this leaking backwards the to the bad seal and going into the wall? Curious if it was running under the spout to the wall. How did it end up leaking under the tub?
It was going through the bad tile how did you miss that?
So changing that part will stop the leaking in basement?
we get these work orders all the time at work..the grout and caulking is gone and nobody calls it in until people downstairs are getting dripped on..we are slowly tearing out the tiles and putting in one piece surrounds as the apartments become empty.
Cheap and no maintenance.

Happened to both my bathroom. Problem one was the tub was clogged with hair. Problem two was what happened in the video.

Dude buy and inspection cam. shove it right up the hole and look inside the wall. Many times instead of blowing out hugh hole, make one little one just big enough to stick cam in. Screw the guesswork and parts swapping.

This clip helped speed up my SAME repair today. It told me WHERE to find the leak(SPOUT)& THAT was the cause. Thanx...Steven! I have a glass shop. Let me know if I can help U too. GO TRUMP!
