Black Mage Maverick Andy Blythe & Marten Joustra are the composers of Toy Story 2 game, A Bug’s Life game, Rascal, and even The Wrath Of Cortex. They created some of the greatest soundtracks I’ve ever heard and they’re my favorite video game composers, they’re right next to David Wise, a.k.a the composer of the DKC games.
Just discovered this channel today and I'm in love. The editing, comedic timing, the BRITISH....everything is so pure and I need this in my veins please inject GALLONS.
Well the PS1 library, for having spanned over 10 years, is still a finite library of games. Personally, while I miss the unique slaughter/salvage rating scale and the fact that his modern videos aren't as sweary as all the ones before the Twinsanity review, all of the humor, editing and overall charm is still there so far. Plus I think in their own right, his "The (Verb) World of (Adjective Noun) Games" videos are still good treats. Though I think they al could do without the brick talk and related imageries.
"Welcome to the caddicarious show, where I have to do the dirtiddiididdididitididiofdecideingwhetherornotagame deserves to be SLAUGHTERED or SALVAGED."
I recently watched the movie again on Disney Plus and i forgot just how good the movie was. Hopper was honestly one of my favorite Disney villans as he was scary for reasons I was afraid of my dad when he got angry. The expressions on his face, the tone in his voice, the sudden volume changes in his yelling, all of it just making him terrifying.
I just realised... 0:12 That's the *Rosie and Jim* intro music. Caddy's real name is James and his sister is Rosie... *HOORAY FOR OBSCURE BRITISH TV KNOWLEDGE!*

I am so happy that you salvaged this game. This game was one of the few I had as a child, fucking loved the soundtrack, fucking loved the gameplay, and I fucking loved 100%-ing it...................multiple times!!!! Seriously, I hope the rest of the internet changes its opinion once it sees this video :-)
Year 2026, March 25th: "Still waiting... Caddy still haven't made the Spyro video... been stuck on 800k for about... 7 months now... still gotta wait... dark days ahead..."
"Time to head into the GLORIOUS APRIL SPRING TIME and relax!" "Oh I forgot, I live in Britain." Oh Caddy, feel you there; I live in Michigan. Living here, the fun never ceases to end- ... our miserable existance! RAIN, SNOW, SUNSHINE, ON, OFF, ON, OFF, DAMN IT JUST PICK ONE ALREADY.
Very satisfying review. I basically grew up with this game and having recently played it, realized just how many things it got right. I have to agree that the soundtrack is one of my personal favorites on the ps1 as well. It didn't need to be as good as it was.
Well, gotta hand it to Pixar, they know which things to homage. Seeing as how the video game was Spyro the Dragon with ants and the film itself was Seven Samurai with ants. Looking forward to Bug's Life: The Broadway Musical which will no doubt be Hamilton...with ants.
I enjoyed this game a lot as a kid :) pretty good for a film tie-in game, the music's still burnt into my brain. Also I genuinely never knew what those coloured gas jet things were supposed to do, your idea of using them to show where you've already been makes a lot of sense :p
I heartily agree with you on your half sarcastic pat on the back. Your biggest strength is in your writing. Aside from the humor and personality, you really do write an intelligent, in-depth, and just all around damn good review. Cheers, Caddy. Keep brightening my Sundays, if you please.
I actually never finished Toy Story 2 for the longest time until years later where I got another copy. And I probably wouldn't have finished Bug's Life for years too.
Congratulations. You managed to make me take an interest in this game after watching a group I follow trudge their way through the game making it look stupid. So now my faith in this game is restored enough to try it for myself someday. Thank you Caddicarus.
Thank you for this video. I subscribed to your channel because you mentioned this game's soundtrack in your Top 20 PS1 soundtracks video. We got our PS1 all the way back in 1999, and this, Crash Bandicoot Warped, and NHL 98 were the first games we ever got.
I have been replaying this game lately; this is really in-depth for a 'just' a movie tie-in. I love the fact you never complete a stage exactly the same way. A lot of thought and love went into this.
I remember getting the PC version of this game for my 13th Birthday back in '99 and it just blew me away as full 3D gaming was relativly new back then and I was amazed at how I can explore & go in any direction I want intstead of up, down, Left & right in the 2D games I played before it.
Listening to you use the music from this game in other videos has made me go back and replay it so many times over the years... Guess it's time to play through it all over again...
A Bug's Life and Toy Story 2 are two games I've never put down ever since I was 3. And here I am, 21 years old and still playing them every few months or years. Thanks for showing off two of the best, joyful reviews of some good ol' movie game charmers. Also, when Flik gets the Mega-Homing Berry, I always somehow hear him call it the "MEGALO HOMING BERRY!!" and just stuck with it since. Don't know how that happens. XD
Dude the high contrast zoom in thing genuinely fucking KILLS ME (from laughing, not from Ringu curses or anything). I bloody love OTT hyperbolic humour! Also this game was my childhood - 289,000/10, would absolutely spend whole afternoons listening to the sound track alone.
Cady has officially competed my childhood collection. I just replayed this one recently... Oh boy. I loved it as a kid, man flick would will not shut up.
I don't give a fart what anyone says. Caddy is the funniest youtuber I watch, and I watch a lot of youtubers. No sleight to the rest of them, really, but the Caddicarus show is pretty much always a 100% match for my sense of humor and I'll keep watching it for as long as Caddy makes it.
I just discovered your videos today, watched quite a few, and had a couple laughs. But this one definitely made me laugh the most. Looking forward to perusing more of your content.
I am happy that you stayed on TH-cam. The SpongeBob SquirePants Battle for Bikini Bottom game is one of the best 3D platform games ever next to games like banjo-kazooie and Super Mario 64. Please review that game next ;)
I was about the same age as Caddy when I played this game, and that music down in the caverns when you have to fight those grasshoppers absolutely PETRIFIED ME!
Returning to this video after beating the game 100% for myself. Those last few stages were a bastard but I soldiered on and won. Fun times were had by all.
So I just noticed this, Caddy sounds like Frieza from DBS which is awesome when he does these reviews. Frieza is my favorite DBZ villain and the way Caddy talks its like Frieza talking about a game. Anyone hear that too or just me? Also love all of Caddicarus content he is hilarious and makes me laugh keep up the good work dude
It's kind of funny, in the day we all complained about how movie tie in games are bad and now there basically aren't any of any note made anymore.
huh, true dat. The last movie based games I remember where THe lego batman and ninjago movie.
Yea games based on movies never seems to be made anymore.
I would have liked games based on the many superhero movies we get nowadays.
Right now mobile phone are the go-to market for movie tie-in games
Don´t know if that counts but I thought Mad Max was a cool game
toongrowner1 what about the lego jurassic world game that was pretty fun
Fun fact: the Bug's Life game composer also did the music for the Toy Story 2 game and Wrath of Cortex.
I love the game soundtrack of A Bug's Life................couldn't remember a tune or give two shits about the movie soundtrack.
Oh come on, man. You got to remember, "WAS A BUG, LITTLE BUG, HARDLY THERE".
I just heard the composer group was called "Swallow Studios". I was never able to get any specific names!
Black Mage Maverick Of course, all those games were developed by Traveller's Tales, so it makes sense that they would have the same composer.
