I like how he answered every questions firmly without any diplomatic pleasantries, especially about Papua, no matter what or how big media he met.

Five to ten years ago, no one would have thought that Prabowo could be as calm, composed, and meek as he appears today. Back then, he was seen as hot-tempered and ambitious, much like many military-background dictators worldwide. After all, he was the son-in-law of Suharto, the former Indonesian president who ruled for 32 years. However, one day he decided to become a minister under his presidential rival, our current president, Jokowi, a move that shocked many. Since then, he has changed; when presented to the media, he appears calmer, more insightful, tolerant, and even appreciative of many of his political opponents, despite their harsh words. He rarely utters derogatory remarks, and when he does, he publicly apologizes. It's as if a wild lion has been tamed, becoming docile and understanding. This transformation has touched the hearts of many Indonesians, almost like a story too good to be true, authored by a divine figure. Jokowi, whom I believe is the best president in Indonesia's history, is in a dilemma, as he cannot continue his presidency due to term limits. Amending the constitution would provoke protests from people of all backgrounds. Unlike clean countries like Singapore or Denmark, where prime ministers can remain in power indefinitely, having a leader without term limits could lead to never-ending corruption and authoritarianism in a country like Indonesia. It's unimaginable that Jokowi, despite the rivalry and two electoral contests with Prabowo, would endorse his rival as his successor. In summary, I cannot fully articulate all my thoughts in this writing. For me, it's remarkable, and Prabowo, I hope you can become the best leader you've always dreamed of.

This is the bottom line as I see it; this is his last chance in life to be described and remembered as he wants to be remembered; the person who fought tooth and nails for the people of the country. He has proven, and this is important, that nobody and no country can make him a puppet. As an observer of South East Asian politics, listening to President Subianto speak is refreshing. He speaks with purpose and with clarity unlike almost every other S.E Asian leader I have heard. He’s frank and upfront. As an example, His comparison with population size and the incidents in Papua in comparison to Europe and European population size and incidents there, makes those questions about Indonesia’s incidents so insignificant. But, he’s clear and not defending those incidents.
Indonesia and her people’s interests are in my honest opinion front and center for this new president.
You should try to read his books, he also a geopolitical enthusiast majorly speaking a lot from hard politics perspective

Lu baca berita anggaran negara udah habis banyak buat IKN, tapi merugikan warga lokal dan gak bakal bikin pemerataan ekonomi. Udah banyak kajian soal buruknya IKN yang menghabiskan uang itu dari pakar ekonomi, organisasi lingkungan, jurnalisme in-depth. PNS aja ogah tinggal di sana.
