      @@ahmadaamer6 I have this one from WeldonWoods and it's currently my main carry. I keep coming back to it. I love how the main compartment can carry a lot of cards and bills are easily accessible from the side. Quick draw pocket completes the perfect design. I know some people claim this is a rip off of Das Offene Mer's 50/50 but this carrys more cards in main compartment so it wins there in my opinion.

    I got this back in April this year. Well worth the wait due to COVID impacting delivering to UK. Hands down one of my fave wallets. Excellent quality and design. Slim profile with 6 cards and some notes in the back. The patina on this wallet....priceless!!!!!

    I bought the Sienna version of the wallet initially, and I loved it so much I ended up going back and buying it in Shell Cordovan. The Johnny wallet wears in so well. I've had the Shell version for about 2 months now and I get comments on this wallet more often than I did with my Mitchell Leather MCW or the more flashy/gimmicky Secrid that I used to carry.

    • @walletopia
      @walletopia  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      To me, it's the availability in so many other leathers that make this wallet really attractive. I'm tempted to get one in Shell, so nice.

    Looking at the dimensions of the wallet, the Johnny does not look so big! Cards fit really nice in there for a wallet that is almost 10cm x 9cm... but maybe the dimensions are just approximate. I think its a bit smaller, but maybe I’m wrong, it’s only an impression. Thanks for your reviews! Your channel is a pleasure for wallet lovers.

    I like wallets like this. I prefer the Das Offene Meer ‘Top Slider’ though as cash stays unfolded until you close the wallet 😀👍🏻
    On the Loyal Stricklin, I bet you don’t even have to open the flap to get the cash out either.
    It would work as a cash wrap for UK notes though as they are shorter in length.

    • @walletopia
      @walletopia  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct, there's a side access into the cash area on the Johnny so you don't need to open it up. Such a nice wallet for usability.

      I have it on the list! Sven likes to play it up and the calfskin/deerskin is a nice material, but knowing Sven, he's marked it up a ton! From the pictures, the sewing doesn't look all that impressive and the construction is little sloppy looking.

I'm old enough to remember this wallet (it's not new), Garzini has re-designed it by added a few other features, but the fold open, hold cash, fold the opposite way, hold something else is a design that's been around for 35+ years and back then they were cheaply made.

    Good review, interesting wallet I do say, kinda old fashioned design with a bit of up today minimalist in the card holder department. Would been cool if they installed a small fabric to pull up your cards to take out like some leather wallets have. The cash insertion is ok but some what simple to put in and out. The price is not to bad, $45 pretty decent. But if some people are worried about of there money falling out on the side of the wallet then I should recommend the "Thin Fin" wallet, design by the lost Dutchman. Kinda the same design but hold everything due to the flap. Plus the cost is $40 .thats less then the Loyal Stricklin johnny. But thats just my opinion. But overall very good review 👍

      Can you show where people can buy (probably a 1 sq ft) piece of leather like this (or what the actual cost of buying a hide) where the math works out to $3 for each piece of leather? Seems like you just threw a number out of nowhere.

    • @JSGilbert
      @JSGilbert 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      MasMacho, I purchase leather from places like Montana Leather and Maverick Leather. Check them out and you’ll find a bunch of quality leathers (including those from well known tannery, Horween) for $3 - $6 per square foot. If you are a high volume producer of leather goods and purchase your supplies in bulk, the options increase exponentially. I think that any leather worker who prides themselves on their work would be just as disgusted as I am.

    • @JSGilbert
      @JSGilbert 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maverick has a number of Wickett and Craig sides for $119 - $125. At an average of 23 sq feet per side, you do the math.
