- My Xbox One power brick stopped working and i was able to fix the issue by using my Xbox 360 slim power brick. Here is a video to show you what i did. I hope this helps others fix this annoying issue with the Xbox one power brick!

I actually just had to do this and it works!!! We had a power outage that killed our brick. Had an old 360 one around and so glad I found your video. We live in a small town and the new one would come Wednesday. My wife would not have survived

I used a random key to push the plastic piece out and a bottle opener to separate the plugs, it did not work however :D my console is from 2013 and i think it might have seen better days, have to buy a new one :(

Hey okay if you swap the cords like so..and spacing is done if I plug it up and the 360 box stays orange and only flashes green for a second when turning on the system is it safe to say it's probably the system? Also tried this with 2 other 360 power supplies and they both did the same...

I tried this like two years ago and now I'm having the same problems that I had with the Xbox one power supply. My Xbox one keeps turning off and the light on the adapter is turning red just like the Xbox one adapter was.
Red light means it detected a fault. It could be the xbox or power supply are over heating or a possible short or an issue detected. So it could be your xbox that's causing it because my 360 use to do the same thing till I fixed it

i used a flat head screw driver and placed it in between vertical and slowly turned it horizontally until the plug was spread. dont rush it and take your time.

I mean if the ratings are the same then it's fine. If the one requires less amps than the 360 this can damage your system. You need to check the power ratings from both units before doing this or you are going to fry your console and or your brick.
How do I check the ratings?
@@SanityIsPointless sorry I'm just now getting the notification from this but you will have to look online or on the power brick. It should say unprivileged and output voltage. Microsoft is notorious for changing stuff do you can't reuse old components. But just look for Xbox 360 and Xbox one power speck online it will tell you.
It’s the other way around.
If the Xbox One requires less current, there shouldn’t be a problem unless the voltage is significantly different.
If the Xbox One requires more current, the power supply is likely going to overheat…

did you made sure that the connection to the xbox1 is a solid one sometimes the plug since its modified does not fit perfectly and you have to wiggle it into place. hope this helps

@@specialyassine5452 I actually did try it I had an extra Xbox 360 console and an Xbox 360 power brick so I use that and I'm not going to lie it worked for about I would say a couple of times after me turning it on and turning it off and then one day I tried to turn it on and it just won't work anymore, the 360 power brick works fine but it just won't work anymore to turn on my Xbox One, what I ended up doing was getting a new cord from GameStop but I've been using that since and it's been working just fine for now does get a little hot tho so I keep a fan on it

I tried this and it worked but when i plug in my xbox one power brick in my xbox one the thing switches off which 1 is the problem my xbox or power brick ?
Check the brick to see if the light turns red if it does its most likely the xbox possibly the power supply because red means a fault has happened could be brick or xbox over heated or something was shorting out. Possibly a dead chip inside that makes the xbox thinks something is bad.
When I did this the box didn't turn green and I can't turn the Xbox one on
The the xbox has a dead component possible the mother board or plug

I’m having issues spreading the two
The way i did it was with a flat head screw driver. I placed the head vertically in between the two and then turned it horizontally but be careful not to do it too fast as you might break one of the plugs.
