Try using a strong adhesive packing tape first.. Smooth down a strip of tape over the cured resin patch, and buff down with a cloth to make it fully adhere, then slowly peel the tape back on itself, and it will pull the resin up with it. Repeat a few times until the screen is clean. After that, then go in with the Iso and cloth to clean up any remaining residue

But will not work really
At 1 minute you warn not to pour the alcohol over the printer because if you spill, it will cause problems.
If you are unaware, alcohol is electricaly safe. In fact, if you get water on a circuit board & under some of the ICs, pouring alcohol all over the circuit/motherboard is how you displace the water.
Unless I'm missing somevother reason.
I didn't know that! Thanks so much. I think I was more concerned with having to replace the tape around the screen and not that it would get to the electronics but its still nice to know thats not a worry. Cheers 👍
99% is electrically safe. 70% is not.
Hi AoV. Do you know about the secret forbidden screen cleaning method of the dark arts? You deliberately pour a small amount of resin directly onto the screen, spread it around, and then run a tank clean cycle to cure it, and then peel off the layer.
I've never tried it myself (yet) but it makes sense.
I have heard of it but if Im honest I have never had the balls to actually try it 🤣 I live in fear of it not working, lols.

@@herculeholmes504 Please do report back, I'm excited to hear. I don't know why I fear it so much, I use a similar idea to clean my FEP and thay works great.
I just did this. I felt I had nothing to lose after my big spill. Ran across this tip on Reddit and it does work. It doesn't get edges of course, but the main screen it does. I set my tank clean to 45 seconds and it worked first try.
do you put some more IPA on the cloth throughout the process of scraping it off? or do you use the same amount from the beginning?

Make sure your screen isn't like mine. Mine had a thin plastic coating on it that scratched as soon as I tied this. And where the scratch is the Uv light is on all the time. So I bricked my printer until I can get a new screen. I'm not blaming the video, I'm blaming myself for not researching enough
Just checking, that thin plastic sheet might be a protective film that some printers come with. Does the whole thing peal off? You then replace it.
@@ArtisansofVaul if only I was that lucky. Seems to be the actual thing that makes the whole screen work. Under the layer there's only a sheet of glass. And under the glass the Uv light is placed so the spot where there's a scratch the light shines thru and ruins the print

I probably should do. But I've found cleaning it so easy I never bothered/found it worth it.
I should have got a screen protector. I got a mess on my jupiter se screen.i got 2 small scratches on the screen.im thinking of of using a flat razor blade.then replace fep and test print something.if the scratches effect the print then I will buy a new screen
Found this video after doing something similar to my printer to clean it. But uhh, might of gotte. A bit of ipa alcohol under the screen, anything i could do to like fix that? I know ipa is hardware safe cause ive used it to clean corrosion on console motherboards before
I don't know this for sure but I imagine just wait for it to evaporate.
Does someone know if you can buy the glass plate onder the lcd screen?
I'm not aware of one but there are a lot of companies that seem to make generic parts so don't take that as it isn't out there.
Omg i just tried this really gently and scratched my screen 😭 how can i fix this ? Im unable to afford a new one so please dont advise that i just get a new one.
I'm not sure how this would have scratched a screen if done lightly with the tool I was using in the video. The only thing I can suggest has happened is that you either pushed too hard or your screen has a screen protector (thin plastic) on top of it and that's what's scratched. But without seeing the printer I can't say that for sure.
Yuo can change the polarizing film (much cheaper than buy the screen), or yuo can buy a new screen or yuo can live and continue printing with the screen , use other side of the screen , a tiny little scratch is not the end of the world , some times dont have too much efect , anyway good luck , next time , dont use metals or scratchy things with this , its better use a songe and hot water put the sponge with hot water in the screen for 15 minuts , then use a soft spatula to remove the resin , add alcohol help too

Why not a flat razor blade? I got a big mess on my screen.
The risk of scratching your screen is quite a lot. You could maybe try a plastic razor but I prefer this technique.
I got resin under the top glass screen layer because resin somehow got under the tape around the screen and seeped under the edges on the screen :S what shall i do?
Hmm... So depending on the printer that may be a protective layer so as long as the resin hasn't cured you should be able to take it off and clean the screen underneath. Then get a replacement protective screen. If that is the actual screen I don't know... you may need to replace the whole screen, I'm afraid. Burt I'd definetly seek help from someone that has more experience than I do.

Wood coffee stir stick or craft popsicle stick won't damage the screen
As shown the metal scraper also wont damage the screen unless you're careless, Ive been using it for years. Im also not convinced that would get the resin off. But if you feel more comfortable using it do with what you prefer 👍
Omg, just use ipa soaked tissue and then if you have gloves use your thumb nail. Dont use any metal. Ever.
I mean I've been doing it for years and never had an issue so I'll stick to that. Also using your nail and potentially tearing the gloves isn't a great plan.

I have used one of these and found it works pretty well. I've also seen videos about using tape but I'm too scared to give it a go 😅
