Did anyone see the dive watch on the shelf write there where the knives were? Black face black wrist strap, I would've asked about that too a long with the knives. I'm not sure but it looked like a Seiko diver, nice quality watch. Mr knife Dr brought in a haul of knives today. The first pawn shop had the best selection and best prices. Great job taken em down Doctor. Take care.😊

I wish that i had places to shop at like that, everything here as far as pawn shops, their inventory is guns , electronics, guitars, and jewelry. Id love to go to some of these places. It would feel like Christmas, my birthday and Disney World all wrapped in the same box

That big Victor’ is pretty minty sweet👍 I focus on trying to score cheap on old traditional folders and Fixed blade from the Old cutlery companies. Deals on those are seldom, but my collection is growing 🇺🇸 keep up the good work!
I love wenger knives, I have one I carry that has a lock main blade. I pack in in a leather sheath. I know Victorinox has better steel but I just love the wenger designs.

@@contraband1543 I am originally from South Africa so I have grown up always having a penknife on me. The laws here are that the blade cannot have any locking mechanism and must be under three inches. I have several Swiss Army knives (always one on my keyring) and I have a simple victorinox Swiss army blade only. Very non offensive so should not cause an issue if I am stopped with it. I also have a small Opinel and a small non locking Laguiole from france that I can alternate with.
Other than that I have a few knives from Sa which are considered Illegal here so they stay at home
I should also add that if I go camping I have a simple Mora fixed blade. This is technically not legal to carry but provided it is in my car boot (trunk) and I have camping gear it is a bit of a grey area and I should be fine.
I am loving this series and seeing all of the available knives in the states. It almost seems that you could pick up a decent bargain wherever you go as long as you are happy to spend some time looking. Thank you for your question

Recent sub here, went through some old gear yesterday and found two of my old trappers, 1 case and 1 western, they were in desperate need of attention, the dremel worked the case over last night and was the star of the hunting trip today, you got me in the mood to refurb and the western is waiting for its turn to shine again

Flea markets and pawnshops will work with you. But vendor malls are like eBay they are set on their price. Still yard sales are the best way to go.

That’s booth labeled “gator” at Joeys thrift mall is notorious for selling Chinese copies of American made knives

I picked up 2 Buck 703 like that one you showed from a local pawnshop for $10 ea. one excellent and the other very good with some minor handling marks from being carried. They both sold inside a day on eBay.

Kershaw will send you a torsion bar free doc...I just replaced one on my 2005 scallion. Bought in 2007 at a gun show for $18...think it went through hurricane Katrina.
This week I’ll be breaking this one down. I don’t think it’s the torsion bar, I think it just needs to be cleaned and new grease added. Thanks for the info though. I do need one for another 1620 scallion.

@theknifedr-edc I've been there a few times. You ever watched The Andy Griffith Show? He was from Mt. Airy, N.C. The town Mayberry was based on his hometown. We used to go there to watch drive-in movies. It stayed open until like 10 years ago. The Pilot Mountain is just before Mt. Airy. The Andy Griffith show calls it Mt. Pilot.

That ain't no ""thrift"" Store.....LOL. And just from one knife to another....there is no "A" in Victorinox. It's just as it sounds, Victor -Inox.

I agree with you on the ones made in China, but I love the ones made in the USA especially the vintage ones!!
They have recently started producing knives in the US again with better materials. Gerber knives used to be manufactured in Oregon and were well known for their quality at one point in time. Once they sold to Fiskars the quality of course went south.. They have a bad reputation now, but they’re slowly trying to redeem themselves. Hopefully it stays!
