That IMO is a better blade profile than the original.
I love the 25OT. Nice job reprofiling the blade and with general cleanup.

You need to try blue magic metal polish you will be amazed with the results you can get it at advanced auto parts it is high priced but works very good
Kevin, I'm so glad I found your channel bud. You are an Awesome teacher for this craftsmanship hobby. I have the same love of Vintage Knives too. I will eventually be getting into full-time knife repair and rescuing. I have the collection going and looking for the time to get moving. It won't be much longer. I'm basically retired and fixing to get the party started. I would like to meet you and go on a knife hunting day sometime. I'm in N.C. on Lake Norman I-77 North of Charlotte. Looking forward to more videos brother 👍🏻
Welcome aboard and again thanks so much for your support!!
Great job Kevin!!! Tell the folks who try to get you to do it their way to stay in their lane!!! Do they have any samples of what they’ve done? I don’t think so!!! Give them a “bless your heart” and let it go at that! Thanks for sharing this with us!!!
Wow that knife turned out awesome well done I wish I could find them where I live been wanting a knife like that for 20 years
Thank you and thanks for watching!!
Nice work! Really enjoy your videos. Keep them coming Doc.
Thank you!!
Man alive, that was night and day difference! You really do great work
Good save.😊
That’s a slick job! I have a Case Tested electrician’s knife that the blade is above the handle. I may work on it a bit. It’s pretty rough.
That video was brilliant, just grinding a little off to make the knife close that little extra bit, over in islamorada florida from wales, thank you for the video.
Thank you and Thanks for watching from over there!!
What a great looking knife! Nice job
Great job on the tip. I once thought that coming from the top when restoring a tip was correct until I watched one of your videos. Good job!
Thanks so much for watching!! It is the correct way on some knives. I like to try and stay with how the design of the knife was . You have to pick your poison. Bottom up stay with the design then create a new edge or top down/redesign the blade and keep original edge. I like the challenge and I like to make it appear as it once was. Thanks again for the support!!
Those work sharp sharpeners are great. I have 1 that's a step down from the "Field sharpener" like you have and a step up with the 3 sided bench sharpener. Both awesome. Glad to know that's what you use.
Good technique
Good job.
Just found your channel, i also like to refurb an old knife here and there, you may have already tried, but thought i would share i get great results from super clean degreaser as well as simple green on some parts, great content, i will learn stuff here
Welcome Aboard!! Thank you!
My pops has all that equipment we gotta get his knife making going again, I usually just get some to polish and clean the rust, I can't reprofile that good yet, i like to leave that old patina as well, I have aome case paste and I use rem oil as well, I picked up a bottle gun oil with the needle as well.
Skin a buck and run a trot line. Good job!
outstanding work ❗👍💯🏆🥇💪🇺🇲
Thank you! Cheers!
I just saw one of those at a flea market last weekend. I wanna go back tomorrow and see if it’s still there. Had a broken tip like that one 15 bucks probably won’t fix it up as nice as you did but I’m gonna try.
Awesome!!
Nice job Doc
What is your opinion from tramontina knives e other materials from Brazil?
👍🏿👍🏿
That Old Timer turned out looking great. The work and the love you have for these old knives really shows, you go above and beyond on each one you do, and that's why I subscribed. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving.
Hello cool video I have a knife like the one you fixed the blade on. It looks brand new but not sure on the number though
do you fix knives for the public i just came across your channel and have several in need of repair
No, thanks for asking though. I don’t want to be responsible for a mishap on someone’s knife with sentimental value. Plus shipping them back. They could get lost. Thanks for watching!!
🔪👌👍
And what are you going to do with all these saved knives? Keep adding and culling lesser grade ones? Sell some at an auction?
I think part of a collectors problem becomes quantity over quality. What’s your thoughts?
All my knives are quality because they’re all USA made, Swiss, France or German. I am actually thinking about having a monthly auction over in WHATNOT. It’s a live auction site. Thanks for the question. My sons and grandkids are going to have a huge knife collection to sell one day. Every day it gets harder and harder to find all the older USA made knives. Thanks again!!
You took the ever so rare old timer flathead screwdriver and turned it into a knife. 😂😂
Why, why do you need a lanyard on a pocket knife?
For one…I like it, I like the look. 2. It’s easier to pull out of your pocket. 3. If the lanyard is big enough you can put it around your wrist so you won’t drop the knife when using it. Thanks for watching!
👌👍🫡
