I knew I would regret not doing it, just so hard to get everything done all the time. I do like to try to accomplish as much as possible every day. Thanks for watching, all the best!

      They are great old tractors, built to last. I have had this 154 for many years. It just works hard all the time. I have a 184 also with a quick way loader on it. Another great International. You'll be happy with your red tractor!! I need to shoot a video on just the Cub tractors, with some history. Been getting a lot of requests for that. Anyway, have a great day!!

    YOU guys are just as lucky as us Canadians with those big snow storms, by the way good job cleaning with your cub cadet. I'M cleaning with a Bolens tractor and a bercomac snow blower. Winter is fun when not to cold . Have a good DAY.

      Daniel Richard Ya, we had it pretty good last year, only one blizzard. I have a feeling this winter we will be getting pounded by the amount of acorns and other food sources there are. The old International Cub Lo Boy does a pretty good job for only being 2 wheel drive. Thanks for watching and commenting on the video, really appreciate it. Have a great night.

      philip young International made some great machines. I use this 154 to cut all the fields with a 6' International finish deck. It does a nice job. The red 184 with the loader on it definitely earns it's keep around the Homestead to. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting on the video. Really appreciate it. Have a great weekend!

    Nice video! Can you tell me the make/model of the loader bucket you had on the 184? I'm interested in adding one to my 154. Thanks!

      @AlleghenyMountainLiving  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks. From the research I have done, I believe it's a Kwik Way Loader. Never did find the model number.

    I had the same international 184, Kwik Way front end loader and 3 point! Ended up being too big for my little tiny property after i moved! Loved it most of the time!

      @AlleghenyMountainLiving  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Russ Albertson wow, that's pretty cool. I looked for a long time for a loader, and then that one came up. Those two old tractors do a lot of work up for me. Thanks for watching and commenting on the video. Have a nice evening.

    • @Hello.alexis.speaking

      Allegheny Mountain Living We overpaid for it! But oh well, my wife bought it for me for Father's Day! We bought it at Max S Wood in West Coxsackie,NY

    • @AlleghenyMountainLiving
      @AlleghenyMountainLiving  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Russ Albertson value is in how much work it did for you, not so much in what the machine is worth to someone else. If it made your life easier, than it was probably worth what she paid. That's how I look at a piece of equipment when it's a little pricey. Dont forget those loaders sell for as much as the tractors go for usually.

      I bought then, had a bit of a financial crunch and I tried selling it back to dealer and then couldn't! I liked it but! I had a decent property at the time! But moved into a much smaller place! I paid in 2011 $6200 for tractor, loader, woods mower, plow, chains York (landscape rake).

    • @AlleghenyMountainLiving
      @AlleghenyMountainLiving  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Russ Albertson honestly with all those implements I think you did alright with what you paid. Those 3 point hitches are going for 800.00 these days alone! It's hard to work with dealers when your the seller usually.

    i have a cub, its the row crop style not a numbered or low boy. very well built tractor, really a small tank. i mow 2 acres per week and plow snow with it. its a 1948 farmall cub which makes it almost 70 years old. its not showing its age too bad either

    • @AlleghenyMountainLiving
      @AlleghenyMountainLiving  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +andrew donohue I love those old cubs like yours. Very good tractors. I would like to pick one up sooner or later and restore it. I grew up running one from the 50s when I worked on the farm as a kid and always liked that tractor. Thanks for watching, Darryl.

    I had a Lo Boy the clutch plates would always go to Hell... I traded it in on a JD 850 Compact Diesel...

    • @AlleghenyMountainLiving
      @AlleghenyMountainLiving  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, that was a down fall with them, clutch's are way to small. My 154 is due for a new clutch now.

    completely disagree with the comment of IH made crap in the late 70's early 80's. There are ton of those tractors still working hard today. It's even funnier when you are saying it while sitting on a 184 Lo-Boy manufactured from 1977 - 1980 and you have more than 1. Not being a jerk but just saying.

      Agreed. If He Was Talking About Cub Cadets, He'd Be Right Because That's when MTD Took Over. But IH In general, Is Not True in my Opinion.

      East American Trains yep, they do a lot of work up here. Good old tractors. Thanks for watching the video!

      Allegheny Mountain Living I need some advice from you. I have a cub cadet 80 which is the smallest tractor made by IH. It was working fine but now it has a fuel problem. What should I do?

    • @AlleghenyMountainLiving
      @AlleghenyMountainLiving  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      East American Trains sounds like a dirty carb. Did it sit with fuel in it for a while with out being run?

    • @eastamericantrains589
      @eastamericantrains589 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Allegheny Mountain Living It did but the fuel was shut off and it only sat in a shed for about a month.

    • @AlleghenyMountainLiving
      @AlleghenyMountainLiving  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      East American Trains I would be willing to bet, this new gas has built up in that carb over time. Get yourself a carb kit with gaskets and valves. Pull it off and completely clean that carb out. It doesn't take much with the small holes in those carbs to cause problems, not to mention they do not like the ethenol gasoline. One other thing, the older international gassers need the highest octane gas you can get. I always run 93 in the lo boys. The original maintenance books called for a minimum of 98 octane, but 93 does the trick. If you can get it to run some, try some sea foam in your fuel, it helps maintenance these old fuel systems.

    I had one of those 184's with the belly mower for years on the farm. It was a great grass cutter but that's about it. For pushing and pulling its just not its thing and not really made for it.. They are simply huge lawnmowers but very reliable. Ive never seen a loader on one before.

    • @AlleghenyMountainLiving
      @AlleghenyMountainLiving  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      mattsbrute ya, international, woods and quick way made loaders for them. It actually has a lot more muscle than I thought it would. Picked the back of my 2500 Dodge ram like it was nothing. It's a wonderful road maintenance unit. Spreads gravel like a dream. I have been picking it over the skid steer. The cub doesn't rip everything up. Thanks for watching, have a merry Christmas!

    Sad no one makes these quality mini tractors.

    • @AlleghenyMountainLiving
      @AlleghenyMountainLiving  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They sure don't build them like the old ones were built thats for sure. I'm glad these ones just keep working year after year! Thanks for watching.

      Sad indeed! A subcompact tractor now is 10k or $15k even now! Sucks. Way too expensive for what they are.

    them old tracters are tanks . i have a kabota thats alot newer with the hydrostat transmissin i wanted an old ford but my wife cant operate them old ones . im happy with the kabota though

    • @AlleghenyMountainLiving
      @AlleghenyMountainLiving  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +grizz270 Kabota makes a good machine, very reliable. We have the same problem with my old tractors, my wife is very intimidated by them. She didn't grow up running the old manual tractors and I don't want to see her get hurt. Grew up running a golden jubilee along with the old internationals. Those old Fords will definitely get it done. Thanks for watching, Darryl.

    Sure is pretty there, looks like you could use some rear weight s

    • @AlleghenyMountainLiving

      Definitely wouldn't hurt, but it does pretty good for a 2 wheel drive tractor.

    • @AlleghenyMountainLiving
      @AlleghenyMountainLiving  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lots of penetrating oil on the head bolts, they can be a real bear to get out and you don't want to break them. Make sure you follow the tork specs and recheck after running a while.
