    Man it's really nice to see foreigners get as excited about Savotta products as I do. Keep it up!

      I always like to say that Finnish gear is like graduating to gear university, especially Savotta and Särmä/Särmä TST

    Just found you and Savotta. (Subscribed to you and Savotta).
    I will be buying the Kukkaro, the Hatka 12L as well as the Kahakka 25L after binge watching a few of your Vids.
    So many kits already! Always a sucker for improvements to my gear. But SO prepared!
    I can outfit a squad or section with premium gear.
    Great channel, Thank you.

      Definitely go ahead and start building up the smaller kit, but if you are looking for a backpack maybe wait a couple months. It looks like some new and improved items are on the way, but at this point we don't know when for sure

      @@Tim_Keys any further info on this?
      I was looking at the Jääkari M for everyday bushcraft & tasks in the woods. Upon hearing they may be updating it, I don't know now. 😅
      The only thing I would like to see changed on the 'M' is a more solid roll top like the 'L' & 'XL' or a more simplistic opening like the 'S' as the cordage opening.

      @Tim_Keys  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Altriex. There is word out there that this is an entirely new line of backpacks coming out, and the Jääkari line will remain unchanged. That is all the information I have at this point

      Yeah it always bugs me when product photos or videos only show what it looks like from the outside looking in, shadows and weird angles included, so I decided to immediately flip the bags inside out as the first thing I did.

      Another great hatka mod is to get the Särmä TST flat shoulder straps from Varusteleka. They're designed for their CP10/CP15 backpacks but they fit the Hatka perfectly. Much more comfortable than the stock straps and not as bulky as padded straps.

    Nicely flowing video. Not too fast, not too slow and everything is very clear said / showed. Btw, kukkaro means wallet in finnish but no harm done. Nevertheless, that looks more of a purse than a wallet. 😄

    What do you keep prepacked in the savotta M ?? And how much sustainment food/water could you carry with the Hatka attached?? Mainly for a camping/emergency situation. And could you do a video on the Hatka set up as well ???

    • @Tim_Keys
      @Tim_Keys  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I can do some separate videos for some of what you ask, but as for food and water that is highly dependent on a lot of factors. Do you have a water filter, way to boil, or a clean water source near your intended location? Are you looking at prepackaged meals or are you going to cook? I can try to address that too but I would have to do a lot of thinking to come back with some good answers for you on that.
      As for emergency preparedness there are a lot of better folks out there to look to for that kind of information. I'm just having fun and doing it as safe as I can.

    • @timothygourley5690
      @timothygourley5690 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Tim_Keys the reason I ask is because I'm looking to replace my current bug out bag but it's hard to gauge the amount of stuff you could get into a bag just by the dimensions given on a website and there's aren't many people showing the Savotta M as a emergency bag use situation and I just want to get a idea based on what you carry (understanding that out situation are probably a bit different) and because my founds are limited and I really want to do sure on a bag before coughing up the money. And there is always someone who knows more than us but doesn't mean we can't learn from each other, you might have thought of something I missed and not realised until I see it. So if you are willing to do a video on this rather large topic, I for one would be very grateful and interested in watching and hearing your thoughts on it and how you would approach it

      I will see what I can do, I do have a lot of practice in this area so maybe I can help a little bit. But if you are looking at a bugout bag, definitely check out the Savotta Keikka line of bags as well.
      Keep a look out and I will probably have something up for you soon

    18:50 I have been sometimes considering swapping the compression strap buckles to G-Hooks. Maybe slightly more annoying to use, but for example in this application you could get away without the need to attach extra female buckles on the Kukkaro, and just slip the G-hooks into its PALS webbing.

    • @Tim_Keys
      @Tim_Keys  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I really like that idea, and lately I have been getting some experience with G-hooks. My muscle memory is getting to know them better every day and honestly I think I might like them better than buckles in a lot of applications. I will try this out, thanks for the idea :)

    • @lassivaatamoinen5468
      @lassivaatamoinen5468 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Tim_Keys no problem! Also, I just realized that with G-Hooks on the Jääkäri M, you gain more compression too, as the hooks are shorter than the buckles, but also you can place to hooks further up the backside webbing of the pack. Also, for experimenting, you don't even need to remove the original buckles, just replace the male part with a G-Hook.
      I may need to try this on my CP15 too!

    I wonder if this would fit a full size handgun, like a Glock 45 or 19x. Any thoughts?

    • @Tim_Keys
      @Tim_Keys  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you could get a Glock 45 to fit, it would be just barely. No chance of any speedy deployment. Much better suited for a subcompact, which for bonus points you could probably holster in the open back panel where the straps can tuck in.

    • @Tim_Keys
      @Tim_Keys  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Absolutely yes, I can't imagine anyone makes a phone right now that would be too big for this pouch. For a small essentials daybag, this is perfect. Keys, wallet, phone and all will fit inside with room left over for more
