    1. That chicken distracted me too
    2. Love seeing Mike back doing what he is so good at
    3. Its great when a pro agrees with one of your decisions. Never liked prepacked first aid kits. Stuff expires at different times, plus its cheaper to buy exactly what you need. 화이팅

Being down in the deep southwest, my typical attire is a t-shirt and athletic shorts for about 359 days out of the year.
Because of this, I primarily carry in a fanny pack. Been carrying like this for years and I think it's a largely under appreciated method of carrying.
    Glad to see some attention.

I use the larger vertx fanny pack. I have been carrying in that for the last few years and I love it, especially in the warmer months when im just wearing shorts and a tshirt because then im not worried about printing. I keep a full trauma kit loose in mine just like you keep yours loose. By doing that, it keeps the overall girth of the bag down as well and it doesnt look like your carrying around a cinder block. For my sig 365 xmacro I have a hook and loop kydex holster from eclipse holsters which is absolutely amazing. So cool a company made a kydex holster for fanny pack carry.

I run a very similar setup. I like the layout of your pack, might need to pick one up. My pack is a little smaller though (lol). I pretty much have everything you mentioned but I also keep a couple of extra things such as:
    - Permanent marker (tq etc.)
    - BIC wrapped in duct tape for fires, and all the other things it can do.
    - Small coin purse with meds like ibuprofen, personal prescription meds, bandaids, chapstick, nail clippers, lens cloth, water purification tablets, and a small amount of cash.
    - Bandana, which I’ve used more than once in emergencies. It’s also good for water filtration, fire starting and more.
    - A spare mag, ya know, because.
    - Powerbank with cables for androids and iPhones.
    - A few small zip ties.
It sounds like a lot, but most things come in single use packages. Believe it or not, I’ve used almost everything that’s mentioned at least once. If you can be creative and organized, it will fit a lot better than you might imagine. Hopefully this gives some people ideas on what to put in theirs. Stay frosty everyone, things might get a little weird over the next year or 10. Also pray, if you’re into that sort of thing.

I guess my only beef with fanny packs is that it tells everybody in the know that you’re carrying a gun. I see an outdoorsy looking bag on a man and I immediately know it’s a gun. The general public thinks lame dad of course and that’s the only population that would be concerned by me carrying a gun. Also, similar to how my hips hurt after I’ve had my duty belt on for a while, the fanny pack makes my hips hurt after a while. I don’t notice as much hip pain when I carry IWB and I guess that’s because it’s held closer to the body. All that being said, I think fanny packs are a solid option and it lets you carry more gear which I’m always down for.

Eberlestock Bando XL is my carry pack. I like it a lot and the zippers open super quick. I attached a trigger guard with lanyard for safety. With the right length on the lanyard the pistol is well out of the pack before the guard pops off. It's not tactical looking at all which I like. Great video Mike. I need to check that one out. Great pack. I'm thinking about that lighter in the front pocket. What's the last time you had to make a fire using it? I would rather keep it in the 3rd pocket as it's not "time sensitive" item and, if you don't smoke. you almost never use it.

  • @chucotownghost3399

I've been carrying Chitoguaze instead of quick clot. Chitoguaze does not create heat and if packing a wound you don't cause more pain with the burning of the coagulant. The Chitoguaze also can been seen under xray imaging in the trauma room. It's best to also not use quick clot granules because it will be extra work for the trauma team to clean out the wound before treating it. Chitoguaze as it comes in a compressed package you can can fold all the edges and fits perfectly in my fanny pack. And its just personal preference for me but I prefer the bright orange tourniquets. Simply because responding units and once arriving at the hospital to me, it signals that there is a large wound bleed stop that has been temporarily stopped. If they see a secondary tourniquet they know it's bad. great video. thank you.

One thing I would add, which is just my personal preference is a backup/throwaway knife (or a g10 knife). Something you won’t care about if it breaks, or have to throw it away if you “used” it or can’t take it with you into a certain area.
Only other thing I’d put in is a handcuff key and maybe like 6ft of paracord to use as makeshift restraints or whatever else floats your boat.
I made a little makeshift handcuff key paracord holder that I wrap around the backside of my belt (in between my belt and body) so if you ever get restrained in cuffs you’d be able to access if needed.

If I am going to carry a multi tool and a bag, the multitool will be in the bag without a pouch or in its pouch on the strap of the bag. This second option is the first paving stone on the road to utility belt hell, but if a multitool takes up space and is used often it's sensible to have it easy to get to. It's just a thought.

OG Nutnfancy had the fanny pack from long ago with his loadouts. I will NEVER wear one lol. They are nice for carrying stuff but the look they give off no thank you. Id rather wear a rucksack lol.

Good set up, however I recommend putting some of the bandaids in your wallet to save time and space. Also a pair of trauma shears is much safer than the scary sharp knife. Another recommendation I have is an ankle med-kit. It makes organizing your medical gear much easier.

We practice using the chest seal as the tape to hold the bandage on as well if you don’t have a chest wound

I suggest wrapping some tape around that BIC lighter. I use both 1 inch strips of duct tape and electrical tape.

    • @illektronikz
      @illektronikz 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

I second you on the electrical tape. I had a deep slice on a finger once. I rinsed the cut with water put a paper towel over the cut and tightened it down with tape till I could get better help.

2 of the best tapes. Both can also work as a fire starter. Really their uses are only limited by our minds.

Cool pack but you need to have a “rapid access” tab in the upper corners of the back pouch so you can open the entire compartment with your off hand and draw with your shooting hand.

I keep my fanny pack light, gun & spare mags. I have big hands, and anything else in there adds to my draw time. I modified a kydex holster I didnt like AIWB, its installed in the pack bc I liked it better than the elastic band shit. Definitely my favorite way to carry now.

Haha, the casual chickens walking around in the background.
Personally i would add a pair of nice scissors, it comes in clutch when you (or your family) need to cut seat belts, clothes, food even without flinging around a sharp knife in a high pressure situation. Not that the knife isn't really nice, just not for everyone, or places where "doesn't like knives".

Bexar Goods makes some of the best leather products available... They are in San Antonio and the name comes from the name of our county "Bexar County".
It's pronounced without the "x" though, just like the animal: "bear".
