    I wanted to come back after ordering a Kahakka 15 just now. This has to be one of the most underrated and best hidden secrets when it comes to gear channels. Keep up the great work Tim! I'm eagerly awaiting my backpack now as well as your attachment video. One note. It would be great if you review backpacks and other sorts of luggage/bags in the future if you could show the capacity with some everyday items. I guess a lot of people are wondering if their laptops for example will fit.

      It is fairly smooth, I have had zero issues with clothing damage. If it was 1000D it would definitely destroy some light polyester but this 500D was a good solid choice for clothing contact.

      It is a great little stiffener or back support for smaller packs and bags, also great as environmental protection when sitting and kneeling. It is not the most comfortable thing in the world to sit on, but it sure will keep you dry and safe from pokey bits. You can't find that too often in something so light and thin, especially something so strong.

I always want extras on hand for my gun belt, chest rig, plate carrier, backpacks, etc. Sometimes I do some arts 'n crafts with them. What's that hip belt you're working on? I've been looking around for a simple one for my ATS RAID II pack. I was thinking about just making one out of 1.5" webbing and some ITW hardware.

    I did a big order from TacticalTrim in Germany and it's really sad to compare prices, most female and male buckles Savotta/Varusteleka charge €2.90 for costs between €0.49-€0.79 at TT, plus they have a bajillion different models and sizes. Savotta/Varusteleka wins in shipping and customer service, all day every day, but putting down a big order of random buckles, bungee cord, cord stops, tactical toggles, etc pays off quick with the savings! Appreciate your videos, always interesting and I always learn something new :)

    • @Tim_Keys
      @Tim_Keys 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think they average around €1.90, but otherwise you are absolutely correct. My issue with Tactical Trim is just that awful shipping cost. They only have a few unique pieces that I can't find elsewhere, so breaking it up into much smaller but slightly more expensive pieces works for me. That, plus when I send the Finns money I know the FDF, NATO, and all of us will benefit from some of it going towards research and development. These folks don't make weapons, they make stuff to keep troops alive. I will help pay that bill any day. And thanks for the love friend, let me know if there's any topics or nonsense you want me to make videos on :)

    • @EricTheSwede
      @EricTheSwede 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Tim_Keys oh yeah, 100% agree. I can't understand how TT charges €19 to ship a bag to a neighboring country. I'll always stand behind my Finnish neighbors, as soon as they expand their inventory a bit I'll never look the other way again :)

    • @Tim_Keys
      @Tim_Keys 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think that shipping cost is a major part of why the products are a lot cheaper. Most people are not going to order over €100, so is there really any major savings for most people? But Varusteleka would definitely make a lot of people very happy if they expanded the plastics and buckles section

Wool shirts etc. I just never wash, if they smell sweaty I put them outside to air for a few days and they smell like new (well, like outdoor so good) again. But I am lazy and probably you keep your clothes in better shape actually treating them well. If I had expensive wool clothes I'd probs take better care of them (I have Varusteleka wool flanel shirt and treat it like my other shirts, no problems so far, have used it for almost a year and washed it like twice).

      I was the socks and underwear with regular clothes too, if there's smaller amount of wool to wash. Then I use the wool rinse conditioner after pickng out the regular laundry. I think each was this is not necessary. When it's wool only, then I'll use the wool detergent too. The artificial fibers in the wool clothes are what makes them smell eventually. Throw in a tablespoon of vinegar into the detergent and most of the smell will be gone. Also makes the laundry bit softer too!

I have been trying to buy more natural materials, I really don't like the idea of surrounding myself with plastics (it is impossible to be without them, but I want to minimise my plastic footprint).
