    I make it with fresh caught cod as I fish all the time better than the salted but your recipe is a home run

    • @AverageGuysGourmet
      @AverageGuysGourmet  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      OMG yes! Fresh cod kills it! My wife visited Puertp Rico fornthe first time this year and fell in love there with fish since it was so fresh.

    A few questions... was that bacalao or just a cod fillet (not dried and cured)? Also, could this recipe be poured over mofongo and still be considered authentic? Is that common in Puerto Rico?

    Looks really good. I was wondering, can you use tilapia instead?

    • @AverageGuysGourmet
      @AverageGuysGourmet  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can. Almost any fish will work. I don't think you will have to de-salt the tilapia like you would cod.

    Who sells Atlantic cod? I can't find it anywhere!

    • @AverageGuysGourmet
      @AverageGuysGourmet  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry it took so long to respond, did a lot of running around this weekend.
      Any white fish will do really, Atlantic Cod is what my dad used to always use. We went to a place by use called Angelo Caputo's not a chain market.
