      DJ Pain 1 Hope this isn’t a stupid question, but is it ok to use samples from tacklib, since those samples u can pay for and clear easily and affordably from $50-$2500 if I’m not mistaken? Would that be ok for sync licensing? Serious inquiry..

      @@action903 your question is "is it ok?" I'm not answering that question. If you asked, "is it okay to harass a woman/man who doesn't want to date you," clearly the answer is "no." But asking "is it okay to use samples from a site that licenses samples" is weird.

    I just got two of my original songs synced in an American tv show as well as in a movie! And then yesterday I got paid royalties. I almost gave up on making it in this business and Im glad I didn’t.
    Im just commenting to let you all know that even if you’re like me, you doubt your own abilities sometimes, just keep going. Luck comes with the grind. Its like nobody cares about your music, UNTILL THEY DO.

    This video couldn't have come at a better time, I recently just started working with a website called splice using their sample packs in some of my songs, sparingly but its still there, should I avoid using them completely now since I am looking to sync license my music? I'm still on the "laboratory" phase in producing, haven't released anything yet, so this is critical for me as well as other new producers/artists. Has anyone ever had a personal experience using a sample pack and sync licensing troubles?

      Can I use samples I download from Splice Sounds anywhere?
      You have a broad royalty-free license for every sample that you download from Splice Sounds. This means you can use, reuse, remix, and otherwise modify and mangle downloaded samples in any of your productions, including commercial projects, from block bangers to movie scores to voicemails.
      This excerpt from our Terms of Service sets the tempo:
      Sounds are licensed, not sold, to you. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual right to use Sounds you obtain through Splice Sounds in combination with other sounds in music productions to create new recordings. This means that you may modify, reproduce, publicly perform, distribute, transmit, communicate to the public and otherwise use Sounds, including for commercial purposes. However, you may not (a) use the Sounds in isolation as sound effects, loops, or as source material for any other form of sample (even if you modify the Sounds), (b) use Sounds in a manner competitive to Company or its licensors, (c), sell, loan, share, lend, broadcast, rent, lease, assign, distribute, or transfer all of the Sounds to a third party except as incorporated into a new music production; or (d) redistribute Sounds in new sample packs. Additionally, for clarity, you may not use the name, image, or likeness of the artist associated with a Sound in any way without that artist’s express written permission.

    I know this question might seem dumb, but he mentioned no samples. Now what if I make an epic orchestral track, and I use some samples from Splice, like a hit, or some hi-hats, will that give me issues further down the line? Or would I be fine as I pay for Splice?

    Bottom line - If you're trying to get into the sync licensing world, create ORIGINAL music only! No sample packs, etc. If you're not talented enough to create 100% orginal music, that's ok young grasshopper. Sync licensing just isn't for you.

    • @Stefch0o0
      @Stefch0o0 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The problem is not the sample packs. It's using loops and melodies that probably someone else already used, because they got the pack before you. There are sample packs full of single notes and chords that allow you produce 100% unique stuff that you play on your drum machine or keyboard.

    • @swissbakeryrapnews6089
      @swissbakeryrapnews6089 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      You can take an Overused sample pack, split any 8bar melody in it by every 1/8 or 1/4 per bar. Then assign each chop to individual midi pads / keyboard keys and start playing. There u got a in key, free sonically perfect, original sample, young grasshopper 😂

    • @tdaddy9975
      @tdaddy9975 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ok I here you fam. Now when you say sample packs, does that include sound packs like Native Instruments packs for maschine?

    • @swissbakeryrapnews6089
      @swissbakeryrapnews6089 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      T Smits sure, it can also be the first 8bars of a charting song, a NI sample pack, whatever sample you got just try it out. Bottom line is don’t copy paste the original sample for 32 bars and think you a beat maker now
