I love designing my own sounds. Making music is much more fun and enjoyable that way. It's worth the extra 'effort' and can even be quicker than sifting through presets.

This topic woke up the urgency of preparing everything before submitting to libraries. I am still practicing mixing and mastering and defining my workflow but I haven't thought about different versions of a track. Good tip!

I learned so much from this video. Thanks guys. Yes and music supervisors have really short deadlines. They need the work cleared and done for the scenes.

The fact that u brought up the path of least resistance and the fact that I’m reading that book currently , scares me

Honestly, if I can go back in time and learn a synth inside out, I wouldn't even bother buying any sound design library. But I have to accept the fact that I am not an expert sound engineer and I tried for hours to come up with a whoosh or a drone in a synth but I failed enormously. That's why I automatically lean towards buying ready-made hybrid libraries and tweak them to generate new sounds off them or just use couple of presets that I like as they are.

I personally attest that these are two great gentlemen masters of production music! I joined the Sync Academy and it's all UP from here. If you are serious and willing to work hard, the sky is ...just the beginning. ;~)

So if you send then a beat and they only use the drum n bass of the beat them the term for that beat ends would you then be able to shop that beat out again to other libraries seeing as drum n bass don't always make up the identity of an instrumental

Great information again Jesse! Thx! I have a question about alternative versions of your tracks. Let’s say you make five or more versions for submission to libraries, music supervisors, ect., do you have to register all of them with your P.R.O. in order to get royalties in case of placement?
