To be honest, I preferred the reviews when Jon was sitting on the couch. These look way more professional but for some reason Jon sitting on the couch felt more raw and natural.
John! Ive been a fan for such a long time and i realize exactily why now. Its that every time i watched your videos, it felt like you were talking to me one on one about the phone you are reviewing. Doing it this way seems like you are reading off a script just like other youtubers out there. Talking from the heart brought you the uniqueness that i like as a viewer and i hope that you go back to that. Good review and keep up the awesome content!
+BRAVE TRUTH yees, let's just forget that the Oneplus 2 has a beautiful bright display, good battery life, decent camera, solid and premium build quality, blazing fast performance, 0-100% charging for about 2 hours, etc. Because no one wants all that stuff, right?
Beautiful camera work and excellent points made, Video style/quality is much like The Verge accept way less bias, more objective and has the TechnoBuffalo twist. I like this style of review.
my favourite review you guys have done. It was professional and natural, you didn't just rail off specs and whether parts were good or not but talked about why they were good and how they performed in real situations, definitely hope you guys do more like this!
+Random Accεss Mεmoriεs did you see Micheal Fisher review of the droid turbo camera versus the S6? have you used the turbo camera?. check the review the turbo took arguably better pics with more realistic colors! I tested this as well and I agree, the s6 does focus slightly faster but over all quality is no better on neither side. I found moto cameras to be good. the nexus 6 was one of the best as well from last year. I day test yourself and see real results rather then listening to most reviewers who are often fanboys as well:) refer to video
I think it would be good if you posted an 'updated' review based on the recent OS updates as it performs alot better in battery, camera, benchmarks, and basically everything else.
I'd probably say that the Alcatel Onetouch Idol 3's screen was the best ever screen I've ever used. I remember leaving my sunglasses on and in direct sunlight and the screen was still bright and crisp. Whatever they did, OEM's need to steal this screen tech for all the flagships!
I really enjoyed this style of review, Jon. It was clean, and I personally love the panning shots of the device. That said, I do miss your warming personality that is in it's element when it's just you and the camera. I think that if you include a few clips were it's just you, the device, and the camera as a subtle break from the panning shots, it'd be excellent. However, great review as always!
This new format definitely is great and a welcome upgrade! However, maybe there's a way to merge the format of old with the format of new. When talking about more of the technical specifics and numbers of the device, I much prefer this new format of reviewing, but for reviewing the more "Fun" and "lifestyle" aspects of a phone, it could be best to portray this in a more casual setting, such as out and about, on the town, or in the office. The Verge's review of the Apple Watch is a good example, wherein they showed the reviewer using it in a crowded bar while trying to have a conversation with someone. These kinds of examples provide a good idea of what it's like to use this device in daily life. Jon could do something like show the camera or other unique features being used in the most natural way that someone would actually use them. Just a thought from an avid tech lover :)
+inoahicefisherman if it was so, why does the Moto X is better than the Oneplus 2 people always commenting on Oneplus 2 posts or videos all over the place? Just so others know that the Moto X is better? why even bother talking about Oneplus 2 if they didn't like it.
Joseph Griffin i think "way better" may differ for each person. Like some people prefer QHD screen even with average battery life while some other prefer good battery life even with FHD. ***** that's true. People will keep talking about what a phone lacks of while ignoring what it has to offer. ***** well they're free to choose what they want, to get what they think suits better for them. As i said earlier, it's a matter of preference. But to keep "trolling" about Oneplus 2 lacks of features?
Awesome video Jon! But it sounds like you're sick or something! Maybe it's because this video is so professional but man not seeing you was so jarring! =D Still a great video!
glad you mentioned invite system, because by the time someone does get it something new and better has already came out that's what happen with last one, I wanted to buy it but didn't get an invite till so late that I went something else
I like TechnoBuffalo's normal review format better. It brings a unique style that helps differentiate TechnoBuffalo from the other tech channels out there.
I am using #OP2 since last 5 days and found bugs in 2 important features. 1. Settings > Calls - Since #OP2 is a dual Sim Phone and therefore one can select between the Sim 1/Operator1 and Sim 2/Operator2 , also there is a option Ask every time. If we select Ask every time it will ask us from which SIM /Operator call has to be made when we are dialing from Contacts or from Dialed Numbers, its fine. But, when we are using DIAL PAD to dial the number manually and there we select any of the SIM 1 or SIM 2 to dial the number than that SIM/Operator will automatically become the default selection in Settings > Calls and next time when you will dial the numbers from Contacts or Dialed numbers also it will not ask you for Selection of Operator but will directly make a call from the SIM/Operator you made a recent call using dial pad. Suggestion - Dialing from Dial Pad from Sim 1 or Sim 2 should not alter our selection in Settings > Calls. 2. Settings > Cellular Data - When we are using Internet Data from Sim1/Operator 1 and due to any reason such as poor speed or network issue if we are Switching to Sim2/Operator2 from Settings > Cellular Data at that time suddenly Network Signal of both the Sims gets vanished for 3-4 seconds and Screen turns black and phone gets Hang for a while. Suggestion - Transition from one operator to other operator should be smooth and without any disruption to network. Also request you to provide the selection criterion of choosing of operator for using cellular data should be provided in drop down menu itself, there should not be any need to go to settings menu again and again.
Did I just see the snapdragon 810 has a lower geek bench score than the Galaxy S5's 801? I literally had to rewind back just to see that. So much for a powerful processor. I'm sticking with my trusty S5: water resistant, micro sd card slot, removable battery, and it can surely take a hefty fall.
Loving the new review style. Video is awesome, but audio levels are pretty low and speech is way too fast to understand in some parts :S. Overall good review Jon!
Good review! I like the idea of trying a different style of reviewing. However, personally, I prefer the "Jon on couch" review. This review was very elegant and professional in appearance. But the "couch" review felt more personal and gave a sense of uniqueness from other reviewers. Keep up the great work!
I think not including NFC makes for a good business decision for them. Something similar to the iPhone route where you never get a complete phone specked right to the T so that there's room to lure in customers the next year with the newer iteration. They're actually great devices, but if you got everything in one go, with durability thrown in, how many will buy your product the next year? Cus it already does everything, and as long as you have decent software support.. You're good to go for quite a while!
Hey Jon, there were a lot of concerns regarding the 810 processor, particularly the over-heat problem... You had the chance to try it, what do you think?
Reasons the Moto X Style is better than the One Plus 2: No invite system, fast charging, NFC, higher resolution (2K), Moto Maker, front facing stereo speakers, CPU that does NOT throttle, SD card for more storge, closer to stock android, front camera flash, better customer service, better camera (this is arguable as there is no ois), better design (opinionated), better build quality, much thinner bezels so the phone isn't that much bigger than the OP2 despite its larger screen. Reasons the One Plus Two is better than the Moto X Style: Camera has ois, duel sim compatibility, fingerprint scanner, slightly larger battery capacity, very slightly cheaper than the Moto X. This is all I can think of. I hope this helps you decide between the two phones. I have already made my mind up and chosen the Moto X Style as my next phone and I will purchase it as soon as it comes out.
Well done. I see a lot of cues from the Verge in your new review style. Please don't take that as a jab, they do a lot of great, professional looking and feeling reviews and this is right in that same class. I love the growth and development I am seeing from you guys. Please keep up the good work! Kudos
I loved the review style where he was sitting at a couch and table and actually put time and thought into what he said. Instead of just blazing through some Q cards and not giving us time to think. DON'T make this style a think!
Awesome review. I noticed that the benchmark results seemed a bit off. I think those were the OnePlus One’s benchmark. The OnePlus 2 scores way over 4000 in Geekbench 3 Multi-Core.
I like the review, but feel like Jon was talking too fast. Whether he was being rushed to cram so much in over a short period of time or just his updated way of reviewing but I thought it was a bit difficult to keep track at times.
i think the best choice for oneplus would be if they had released two phones. One phone with a budget friendly price and a vew high end specs, like last years oneplus one,and the other with every high end spec they can put into a phone, and that one they could have sold for the price as same as all the other high end flagships. That phone would completely destroy the other top phones
As to this day i think the note 4 and note edge should have been out in this comparison and put the s6 edge + and note 5 instead as they are from this year.
I broke it down to whichever comes first either I get a invite from one plus or the moto x pure edition gets released first as I'm looking to upgrade soon.
Is no one gonna comment on the crazy low benchmarks it usually gets 60k-65k on antutu 5 and 1300-1500/4200-4500 on geekbench 3 might wanna check that out
Dual SIM instead of SIM + SDcard tray is the only big head scratcher for me. 1080p is fine when it benefits battery life. I would find NFC more useful if apps like Trigger did not need root access to do any of the tasks I want performed. The only utility knock against OP2 is for me is the useless extra SIM slot over sd expandability.
Great professional new look! I think we see eye to eye about a lot of the issues with this phone. Great phone, with some glaring omissions. Overall, great review!
I was gonna buy myself a Oneplus Two, but after realizing the poor invite system and how others were ranked, I decided to give up and buy LG G4. I'm ranked 5k on the reservation list. So if you want, just message me and I'll get back to you if I ever get a invite.
Some people are saying the couch reviews are better, but I say this is pretty damn nice. Feels of higher quality and probably appeals more to the masses. That being said, the couch is still awesome. Do both Jon! But above all, just do you!
Jon while change is always necessary, sometimes it isn't better. You definitely sounded like you were reading a script and not have that natural flow that you do, especially when you do the couch reviews. Keep the video format but bring back the free flow thought (or as much of it). It's harder to storyboard, I know but sounds more like you.
To be honest, I preferred the reviews when Jon was sitting on the couch. These look way more professional but for some reason Jon sitting on the couch felt more raw and natural.
Yeah I feel the same way, I liked it because nobody else did it so you had a reason to watch
don't worry about it he is showing the phone in detail
High quality video but Jon sounds waay too serious and lifeless. Back to the couch?
yes plz
plot twist: those aren't Jon's hands
jay ckb or are they?
+TechnoBuffalo plot twist: Jon is the little brother of Michael Fisher from pocketnow
Yeah all of his slaves made this video for him and then he slapped his voice on top.
TechnoBuffalo we will never know.
+TechnoBuffalo amazing video and your videos are fantastic
Is this really Jon be sounds way different. Hate the phone that much?
Sounds like he's reading
Great review Jon. The format feels fresh and new. Great phone too.
Make 1 Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Make 1 bro no NFC and no quick charging you gave them 8 are you serious bro? i will give them 6.3 its fair enough
BRAVE TRUTH I personally don't use NFC and yeah no quick charging sucks (I own a Note 4) but it's still a great phone for the price.
+TechnoBuffalo benchmarks are too low
+BRAVE TRUTH yees, let's just forget that the Oneplus 2 has a beautiful bright display, good battery life, decent camera, solid and premium build quality, blazing fast performance, 0-100% charging for about 2 hours, etc. Because no one wants all that stuff, right?
I honestly like the way John took the old reviews... that's one thing I used to like about technobuffalo that they don't make everything serious...
Beautiful camera work and excellent points made, Video style/quality is much like The Verge accept way less bias, more objective and has the TechnoBuffalo twist. I like this style of review.
my favourite review you guys have done. It was professional and natural, you didn't just rail off specs and whether parts were good or not but talked about why they were good and how they performed in real situations, definitely hope you guys do more like this!
gotta be honest, i love my OPO and all, but if the camera in the moto x style is great i will have to go for that.
I'll bet the moto camera will be better!
lets hope so! :P
+Miguel Ferreira Moto can't figure out cameras... Hopefully this year they do.
Frederik Olsen no ois is a deal breaker for me...21mp is worthless they couldve done 12mp and went all out
+Random Accεss Mεmoriεs did you see Micheal Fisher review of the droid turbo camera versus the S6? have you used the turbo camera?. check the review the turbo took arguably better pics with more realistic colors! I'm a big fan of this new review format. Tons of good information from a person who gave the phone extended use. Well done Jon.
Hey Jon is the GEEKBENCH 3 multi core supposed be about 4000 points range not 2251 I think it's a mistake.
Love the review Jon!
khemerong chean Thank you!
TechnoBuffalo Hey Jon.. should i get the next Nexus or the OnePlus 2
+Jared Seymour dэsigиэя I'm thinking about this as well. I'm leaning towards holding until the next nexus is announced before deciding anything. Hmm
Anthony Paramo exactly what im thinking.. but i dont want to waste my invite
This new format definitely is great and a welcome upgrade! However, maybe there's a way to merge the format of old with the format of new. Fresh format. Tho the flickering Opaque text feels like a straight rip from MKBHD and TLDToday
Aaand here they come, the Moto-X-is-better-than-the-Oneplus-2 people.
+inoahicefisherman if it was so, why does the Moto X is better than the Oneplus 2 people always commenting on Oneplus 2 posts or videos all over the place? Just so others know that the Moto X is better? why even bother talking about Oneplus 2 if they didn't like it.
Miqdad Abdul Halim so people know they can get something way better for nearly the same price?
dude bc it is wtf? lol
Because the lack of SD card and limited, exclusive availability are justified reasons as to why people choose the Moto X over OP2.
Joseph Griffin i think "way better" may differ for each person. Like some people prefer QHD screen even with average battery life while some other prefer good battery life even with FHD.
***** that's true. People will keep talking about what a phone lacks of while ignoring what it has to offer.

Jon talks way too fast. Sometimes i cannot understand some words. Calm down. Lol
Miguel Ferreira Maybe you need faster ears :)
You live in Texas?
+Aden Bateman-Browning i am Portuguese. I have portuguese ears!
Miguel Ferreira I do talk fast. Been a problem all my life.
+TechnoBuffalo daaaaaaaamn
received my OnePlus 2,5 days ago. loving it
Awesome video Jon!
Love this new style of videos, but I wish you could have done A-Roll of you sitting on the couch and B-Role of you using the phone.
Either my speaker is busted or this is not Jon.
I like TechnoBuffalo's normal review format better. It brings a unique style that helps differentiate TechnoBuffalo from the other tech channels out there.
Hey John it was in depth review in a packaging of an normal review. Pretty neat keep it going.
This new review style is much better. Looks way more polished, professional, and informational. Keep it up!

Loving the new review style. Video is awesome, but audio levels are pretty low and speech is way too fast to understand in some parts :S. Overall good review Jon!
Open the back cover and the 2 gold like things or thing is so in the future you can put a back that has nfc built in
But good video thanks
+shayan zahedana More in-depth information? What did you excactly mean?
shayan zahedana the oneplus ceo already said there will not be a nfc back so...
For battery when it says something like "5 hours of battery left " does that mean 5 hours of on screen time ?
Good review! I like the idea of trying a different style of reviewing. However, personally, I prefer the "Jon on couch" review. This review was very elegant and professional in appearance. But the "couch" review felt more personal and gave a sense of uniqueness from other reviewers. Keep up the great work!
Jon you sound way more serious and less playful on this video
It seems that all of the drawbacks other than the invite system don't concern me. I might give in and buy it.
I think not including NFC makes for a good business decision for them. Something similar to the iPhone route where you never get a complete phone specked right to the T so that there's room to lure in customers the next year with the newer iteration. Cus it already does everything, and as long as you have decent software support.. You're good to go for quite a while!
Can you use a regular charger with the one plus two? Not always a USB type c charger
Nice work, really professional. Maybe you could make the review a bit shorter next time. But all in all a welcome new way of reviews and great work !
I miss the enthusiasm of Jon presenting to camera. Come back please!
Hey Jon, there were a lot of concerns regarding the 810 processor, particularly the over-heat problem... You had the chance to try it, what do you think?
love the new style! quick suggestion, upgrade the microphone used..could sound better imo
Reasons the Moto X Style is better than the One Plus 2:

This is all I can think of. I hope this helps you decide between the two phones. I have already made my mind up and chosen the Moto X Style as my next phone and I will purchase it as soon as it comes out.
+Tamir Cohen sucks how moto x pure or style still isn't in New Zealand yet -_-
Yeh lol
+Tamir Cohen I bought the Oneplus 2 because in Europe the Moto X is €499 compared to the Oneplus 2 with €389.
Talk about slightly cheaper.
WHAT? SOMEONE WHO ISN'T A TRIGGERED FANBOY? IT'S A MIRACLE!
Really liked the review format, more detailed as it was something people were more interested.
I'm not a huge fan of the new format tbh i kinda wanna see the reviewer and not just the phone from different fancy angles
I'm for a micro SD slot instead of second SIM slot... Wireless charging is a good feature too
I actually really like this new voice over style. His voice sounds so much better this way lol
Well done. I see a lot of cues from the Verge in your new review style. Please don't take that as a jab, they do a lot of great, professional looking and feeling reviews and this is right in that same class. I love the growth and development I am seeing from you guys. Please keep up the good work! Kudos
I really love the how the video was produce.. but Jon can be a bit more animated.. like usually... those two combos = perfect. ;)
I loved the review style where he was sitting at a couch and table and actually put time and thought into what he said. Instead of just blazing through some Q cards and not giving us time to think. DON'T make this style a think!
What happened with the benchmarks? Is the SD810 under clocked?
How is the call reception??
Didn't mention it
Where do u get the stickers for mac
+Abdullah ha ha, yeah.
We would buy it as well but you failed to mention that its going to take while to get thanks to the invite system.
man Jon I miss the other way you did phone reviews, felt more TechnoBuffalo, now it's turning into The Verge.
Plot twist : He is reading the article from the site word by word. And it is quite noticable ^^
Great review but do miss the old format. If its possible, keep the old format. :)
With oxygen os 2.1.1 ,antutu scores are around 62k now
Awesome review, very professional and yet still down to earth in typical TB fashion
Will it be getting Android M?
Who makes the skin on that Mac at 7:39?
i think the best choice for oneplus would be if they had released two phones. One phone with a budget friendly price and a vew high end specs, like last years oneplus one,and the other with every high end spec they can put into a phone, and that one they could have sold for the price as same as all the other high end flagships. That phone would completely destroy the other top phones
This is not Jon Rettinger its not his voice not his sentence formulation
Jon can you do some more reviews on the coach pls
hey what about wifi performance and signal rception???mainly 5ghz reception
So it has a snapdragon 810 does it overheat?
Does the oneplus two have screen cast?
your voice sounds so much deeper
Liking the new review style Jon!
Loving the refresh Jon. A bit "Verge-esque" but, still loving the change!
Amazing review John. Very detailed. loved the content being so well organized. Great presentation skills as well. kudos to the TB team.
Much prefer the old format of Jon sitting on the couch. This format makes Jon sound robotic and lifeless. Bring back the personal touch
Love the new review format 👍
Are you developing a lisp?
Is there less backlight bleed in low light than the One?
As to this day i think the note 4 and note edge should have been out in this comparison and put the s6 edge + and note 5 instead as they are from this year.
I broke it down to whichever comes first either I get a invite from one plus or the moto x pure edition gets released first as I'm looking to upgrade soon.
I'd like to suggest you share your screen on time! gives the rest of us a better idea of how battery life is.
Hey Tech. Think you could do a video where how to fix a Write Protected Sandisk?
can I ask why the hell you are holding it to a light bulb?
Is no one gonna comment on the crazy low benchmarks it usually gets 60k-65k on antutu 5 and 1300-1500/4200-4500 on geekbench 3 might wanna check that out
I'm pretty sure the guy speaking is the new guy, Mark B.
Is it going to have connection issues when the phone goes idle like the oneplus one on at&t's network?
Jon is pulling a classic Michael Fisher. :D
how much ram is available to the user out of 4??
is the camera better then lumia 1020 or same as 1020? I am thinking of buying one.
Great commentary sa always but i noticed that you weren't enthusiastic as always, is everything alright?
John Dude what's wrong man? U sound like ur not enjoying what ur doing and that's never the case with u. I love ur work man!!!
Sound is very poor on this review. I can hardly understand what John is saying.
Lovely work John! Very well done!!!
I had the One, and sold it for a smaller phone. Why are phones getting ridiculously larger all of a sudden?
All of a sudden? It's been a trend that's been increasing year by year! We're finally starting to stabilise around the 5 to 6 inch mark now.
So if you want, just message me and I'll get back to you if I ever get a invite.
you guys should make your videos 60fps that would be awesome
Some people are saying the couch reviews are better, but I say this is pretty damn nice. Feels of higher quality and probably appeals more to the masses. That being said, the couch is still awesome. Do both Jon! But above all, just do you!
Only 43k on AnTuTu bench? Last month I had a score of 50358 with my Nexus 6 and a lot of apps were installed... How is that possible?
Jon while change is always necessary, sometimes it isn't better. You definitely sounded like you were reading a script and not have that natural flow that you do, especially when you do the couch reviews. Keep the video format but bring back the free flow thought (or as much of it). It's harder to storyboard, I know but sounds more like you.
