+Ben Rafter I hardly think so, the Lumia 1020 is still king of smartphone cameras, the S6 may be the best smartphone camera of this generation of smartphones but once you take the Lumias into account going down as far as the 830, let alone the 930 then it is a no contest with anything android and let's not talk about how the camera app manual mode most other manufacturers have implemented with the adjustable dials coming out from the side and adjustable up and down is a blatant ripoff of the Lumia camera app.
marco fava the lumia 1020 is no longer king. Slow auto focus and slow at taking pics. At 41mp you would expect to be wowed by its photos but honestly, as an ex user, wasn't.
Ben Rafter I too owned a Lumia 1020 and honestly the only other phone before that that took pictures of quality was the nokia N8, before the 1020 I owned an xperia z, then the z1 and before that the galaxy s3, i use my phones primarily as cameras so a good sensor is important for me as i do not really have the money to buy both a phone and a dedicated camera. The slow focusing and slow picture taking speed are more chipset limitations that anything, but as far as the processing and quality go, the 38mp shots are flawsless in terms of resolved detail, dynamic arrange and lack of digital noice, the 5mp super sampled pictures are as close to perfection as they come, I've compared them to the S6 and LG G4's photos on multiple occasions and i still think they are better, even the Lumia 830 i own now, without super sampling takes extremely good photos, comparable to the S6 and G4.
Ben Rafter Be specific mate. In photography, there is no "BEST". That's like saying the canon 5DS is the best camera in the world. It's got it drawbacks as a camera and the same goes for phone cameras. Samsung cameras are horrible in low light conditions; they're taking advantage of people's misconception that MGP's are everything and with that, they limit the amount of light that can reach the sensor. Thus, they're not even able to focus 8/10 times in the dark, see what you're intending to photography (let alone do it more quickly than say the Lumia 1020). Speaking as a professional food photographer, iPhones are amazing at photography due to their imaging software + optimum megapixel count + high quality lens and superb camera sensors. But get this, both Samsung and Apple use Sony's camera sensors. So when you say stuff like "It is the BEST smartphone camera", please do some research before you feel the need to demonstrate to the TH-cam community your die hard love for Samsung.
UPDATE: This comparison was filmed with a preproduction media sample of the OnePlus 2 and our conclusions concerning some of its performance aspects have changed. See our OnePlus 2 review video for our updated thoughts: pocketnow.com/2015/09/25/oneplus-2-review ^M
Great Comparison! Honestly, if I didn't already have the S6, I would probably get the Oneplus 2. I can no longer justify spending over $400 on a phone that I will probably keep for barely a year (if that). Don't get me wrong, the Octo-core CPU and super-charged memory is great, but is all that really a necessity for using social media apps and web browsing (all I pretty much do on my phone). I feel like people sometimes regard phones as more of a status symbol, than an actual tool to make life easier. That's just my opinion though.
***** I would agree with this. OnePlus came with the One and kind of made me look at smartphones differently. Why should I spend so much on a high-end phone when I can get most of the great features and software for less than £300?
says who will be in line few days out in line at apple store iphone 6s around $900 maybe, just saying . Some people just bashing samsung phones typing with iphone.
By the way, Michael, when you play Smash Hit and you get to that "multiple balls mode" thingamajig right here -> 8:04, you don't have to tap multiple times you can just press and hold. :P
Michael, You are forgetting the fact that One Plus 2 has Tweaked version (v2.1) of S810 so obviously the heating problems are mostly fixed and that's why it performs well and does not throttle as much. Also the chip is clocked to only 1.8GHz. Z3+ has Older S810 version and it heats up too much. Also heating issue depends on the temperatures where you lives and you use your phone so your experience varies.
It doesn't matter, the tweak has no effect on it, as said in the review, the only non tweaked snapdragon 810 was on the g flex 2 in January(and some units of the one m9). From what I've heard, it's not that bad in the first place and One plus reworked the software for it.
Nathan Nesen I believe you 100%, but what is not so assuring is how's the battery life? As well as does it seem to ever lag(or heat) on high power processing?
1) Michael Fisher -Pocketnow 2) Marques - MKBHD 3) Danny 4) Josh - Android Authority 5)Dom/ Austin/ Jonathan Top 5 best tech reviewers at the moment. But special mention to Fisher. His reviews feels like short movies man! So enjoyable.Keep up the good work!
I think the OnePlus 2 is the next big thing. Not because it has the most features or whatever, because the S6 is still missing features, but because the OnePlus 2 does almost everything the S6 does for close to half the price. I don't know why people are so impatient though. The OnePlus 2 is available for purchase without invites now.
+MercilessHobo Your argument isn't true anymore, though. Currently, the One Plus 2 is 400€ (in Spain) and the S6 is 470€, and I would gladly fork out 70€ more just for the features the S6 has. That's only Spain's situation. In the UK, for some reason, the One Plus 2 is £290, and the S6 is £380. (£290 = 365€ and £380 = 496€) I'm not sure why, but in the UK the One Plus 2 is cheaper than in Spain, and the Galaxy S6 is more expensive.
Not to bash on one plus 2, but what made one plus one so awesome was that there were no compromises. It was up there with s5, m8, g3 etc. One plus two on the other hand still has an amazing bang for the buck ratio but you are compromising a little compared to other flagships of 2015.
these types of reviews are really good for people who can't make up their minds, but it would be remiss to neglect mentioning that one must purchase a phone based on one's typical usage and needs. most people would be willing to spend extra money for an excellent screen and camera if they primarily use their phone (vs TV/laptop/tablet) to watch shows/movies and/or don't want to spend extra money on a p&s or dslr etc. relatively low cost phones are getting better and better, which is amazing and is a testament to how far technology has advanced. new reviews always get me excited for what's next in mobile technology.
I'm still using the nexus 5 and its still pretty smooth and good, except for the battery which is terrible! today I got to see the real difference. I was hanging out with my buddy who uses a lg g2, and at 2PM out in the woods not using my phone that much, my phone died on me, while whilst the g2 had 70 percent left... this is why I'm soon upgrading, it's a pity though since this phone really is a good phone in all other aspects... so I'll probably go for the new moto x pure, depending on the batterylife. not sure about the size though... what do you guys think?
well I've got a nexus 6 and its just amazing. battery life is great..camera of course not the best, but its better than the one on the nexus 5. wireless charging and stock Android is great too. soon the price will drop because of the new nexus and I don't see why not to get the nexus 6..its not that much of an upgrade
omitting quick charging and NFC and wireless charging, some of the other features mentions could just be considered gimmicks. Like the Health app's heart rate sensor, its nice but really how many people actually use the hear rate sensor, then something like the IR blaster is something i rarely use on my g3, i only use it when i cant find the remote because it lost in the couch or something :P Also anyone who is an android junkie like me cant Deny that the close to stock like software on the one plus one is miles better then touch wiz. In the long run the one +2 will more then likely revive updates faster then the s6
+.NetSam You do realise that to get rid of Touch Wiz completely you will have change your whole ROM not just the launcher. Changing the launcher does shit when the whole background and everything is Touch Wiz based.
Excellent Video..!!!! By the Way, maybe in US the difference is just 300 Dollars, but in India the Oneplus 2 64GB model is half the price of the price of GALAXY S6 64GB..... So in India it definitely makes a huge difference.... :)
+Jishnu Chowdhury Is there any chance you could send me one of the extra invites you get when you receive the unit? I'm at 2.60 000 000. position, and really need a new phone :D
I got the gs6 edge when it came and it was pretty smooth and fast. 5 months later, this fucking phone lags and shutters. i thought new lighter touchwiz was suppose to be "smooth". The battery life isn't that great either. my old nexus 5 is more smoother than this shit.
Julian Cardenas seriously bro ??? i have a note 2 as sec device , 3 months ago i decided to change it , i was very confused between iphone 6 and s6 , after note 2 i decided i wont buy any samshit device in my life but the reviewers pointed it out that it is so smooth, it never lags and the finest phone in the market ... but i managed get iphone 6 instead of it .. now i feel i have made right decision because ultimately Sammy becomes laggy after use and plus the OS updates are never as good as a nexus.
***** it doesn't help , i have a note 2 and you can install custom launchers but the touchwiz theme still remains there like in the settings menu and all , it only help a bit , but it is not acceptable for flagship 800$ smartphone period samsung should get their shit together.
Kartikey Sharma Yeah I agree. Another option is to install a custom ROM like Cyanogen Mod, especially since it's super easy to install even for someone who's never done anything like it before (connect phone to computer, download app on PC and phone, press start, enjoy)
I keep exiting full screen to try and like the video but it's already liked... Your videos are so good :) Also, while adding cost to the equation, I think OP2 is better than S6.
The only reason I'm not sold on buying the Oneplus is its super hard to get a hold of. If only they would just remove the invite system, they mightve been the best android phone IMO.
Love your reviews Michael. You are by far the best video reviewer there is. I believe that you should have further emphasized that although 300$ is a big difference in price : a) most people buy a phone on contract for 199$ b) the One Plus 2 is almost impossible to get and most won't have it for months.
4:43 I dont have that audio tuner on my oneplus? I could't find it in the app store either so if someone knows how I would be able to get it please tell me. Would be much appreciated :)
Peety "P.T" I think it's because this audio turner causes some problems. I kinda remember those days when using this, almost every time I click a video on TH-cam or play a music, the sound suddenly gets significantly louder and weird for a few seconds, and then it goes normal. There were a lot of people complaining this on the OnePlus forum but I actually don't mind it at all.
Friend bought one and had to return it in 2 weeks. Overheating, battery issue, lag, camera malfunction, and sim card tray issue. You get what you paid for i guess. I'm just loving my Note 5 ;)
I love how the Galaxy S6 has so many features. I just love to mess around with phones and see what I can do with them. But I'm on a budget and think I'll get the One Plus 2. The only thing that gives me heartburn about the One Plus 2 is its megapixels, camera quality, less features, and I think that's it. (Although it would be cool if the phone charged super fast)
Nice comparison Michael. Makes sense that the S6 is a better device than the OnePlus 2 because of the cost. When you guys get a Moto X Style, I'd love to see a comparison between that and the OnePlus 2.
Excellent video. I have the OnePlus One which is also a brilliant phone. I have to say the S6 was looking sleek compared to the OP2. You summed it all up perfectly, both nice phones.
hi there! what should i choose between one plus 2, xiaomi mi 5 and huawei p9? I own a nexus 5x and i'm interested in buying something more powerful... i dont use my phone for gaming or facebook... maybe some youtube videos, internet and whatsapp.. the battery life should be over the mid range, camera too. thanks
The Galaxy S6 is the best on the market right now, why settle for less? Unless, you are very concerned about how much you spend on a device, just get the S6 and love it and look after it. I personally can't wait for the S7, because the S6 is just so good. I have two galaxy S6 phones actually, one is still boxed and I'm deciding whether I will offer it for sale or keep it as a 'spare' since it is so beautiful! Definitely not a lot of money when you consider how often the thing will be in your hand each day...
Samsung S6 is way better with those all features. Oneplus Two is also good, but they only make the phone cheaper with minimazing the feature (the unnecessary thing). The Samsung S6's camera is slightly better than Oneplus. Both have been good so far than the others. If you want some features on, choose s6 but if you think you don't need it all and want the life's going easier, you should choose Oneplus Two. Nice review Mr. Fisher~
It is not the best android camera. It is the best SMARTPHONE camera.
They keep qualifying this, like they have to much respect for Apple.

What's the app being shown with earth spectrums on the s6?
The one plus2 doesn't have a micro sd card slot?

+Qaid Ali either does the s6. I do own the 1+ so I'm slightly biased

+Pocketnow Which city is this ??
This is vintage Mr. Fisher. I felt like I was in a poetry class at some points of this review. Love it.
TechCloud The "tweaked version" (2.1) is the same exact Snapdragon 810 as the one in the M9. ^M
It doesn't matter, the tweak has no effect on it, as said in the review, the only non tweaked snapdragon 810 was on the g flex 2 in January(and some units of the one m9). From what I've heard, it's not that bad in the first place and One plus reworked the software for it.
it's the same 810 chipset in all the phones. The M9 dosent throttle or overheat, at best it gets a little warm.
TechCloud According to HTC, this is a lie and all Snapdragon 810s are technically v2.1. HTC was given the same exact proccesor as oneplus.
Nathan Nesen I believe you 100%, but what is not so assuring is how's the battery life? As well as does it seem to ever lag(or heat) on high power processing?
Samsung's horrible memory management ruins the S6 for me. OnePlus's stupid invite system ruins the OnePlus 2 for me. I'll take neither for $300, Alex.
***** Go for the Moto X Style then.
menjivarTv that is my thought as well.
***** LG G4, HTC One M9, Sony Xperia Z3+...
Plenty of options out here.
idh0530 haha. No. The M9 is NOT an option.

Ibraheem Mughul yes, I won't be upgrading before the holiday season so let's see about that one!
Rly good video man. Imo the best comparison ive seen in the past.
watching on my galaxy s6 :)

I might go for some mobile which i hate, might even use a feature phone instead of smart phone but i will never go through that invite thing for OP 2

+Khanin the Uhahkian basic/retarded phone...well any Microsoft phone
Khanin the Uhahkian Feature phone is a cell phone that is not a smart phone...

Just ordered my new oneplus 2, it was a pleasing surprise receiving an invitation after a quite while :)
8:21 look how the S6 lags on the right side, just because it's running the shitout of the samsuck lagwiz.
I think this is the best analytical comparison of the I have ever watched on TH-cam, this is Michael Fischer at his best.

I keep exiting full screen to try and like the video but it's already liked... Your videos are so good :)
Also, while adding cost to the equation, I think OP2 is better than S6.
Can anyone tell me what that stuff on the screen is @ 0:12?
Thanks.
I'm more curious where you got such an extensive LCARS theme for your phone.
Wow , what a review . BRAVO!!!
What is the app running at 0:16? It is a benchmark or something like that?
@pocketnow: What accessory do you have on your finger at 5:50?
what game is being played at 8:06 while talking about Snapdragon?
Great work Michael. You're pumping out great content fast. Feels like this video would have taken much longer than it has.
The only reason I'm not sold on buying the Oneplus is its super hard to get a hold of. If only they would just remove the invite system, they mightve been the best android phone IMO.
What's the benchmark tool used on the Galaxy s6 @ 1:29 ?
Can you please tell me the make of that wireless charger?
That's a very nice intro Michael! Liked :D
Love your reviews Michael. You are by far the best video reviewer there is. I believe that you should have further emphasized that although 300$ is a big difference in price : a) most people buy a phone on contract for 199$ b) the One Plus 2 is almost impossible to get and most won't have it for months.
Hey, what's the name of the software you were using on the Galaxy S6?
What's the app you use to show the display of the S6?
Videos like these are why I love this channel!
Very nice video. Easy to listen, clear voice and general flow of video. Throughout coverage and good points. Thank you!
What Star Trek app is that?
very nice review ! Mr.Fisher always delivers quality review !
@Pocketnow Is the galaxy s6 cheaper than the note 4 today?
what was the name of the app you were using at 00:15

hey Capt, what's that star trek interface you use on this video-
after watching this video I started liking OP2 more, so finally I bought one
Michael whats the space shooter game you're playing in the video? also what is the star trek app?
What is the appp that he is using at 1:35 ? or what is it ?
Michael what is the Star Trek app you were using on the s6?
Hey Pocketnow, do you think the OnePlus X or the LG G Flex 2 is better?
4:43 I dont have that audio tuner on my oneplus? I could't find it in the app store either so if someone knows how I would be able to get it please tell me. Would be much appreciated :)
Peety "P.T" OnePlus removed it after Oxygen OS 3.0, I miss it a lot! It helped to improve the sound quality so much.
Matthew Trancine I wonder why they removed it if it was as good as you say. I had to download an app to improve the sound.
Peety "P.T" I think it's because this audio turner causes some problems. I kinda remember those days when using this, almost every time I click a video on TH-cam or play a music, the sound suddenly gets significantly louder and weird for a few seconds, and then it goes normal. There were a lot of people complaining this on the OnePlus forum but I actually don't mind it at all.
what is that game you're playing at 10:07?
Friend bought one and had to return it in 2 weeks. Overheating, battery issue, lag, camera malfunction, and sim card tray issue. You get what you paid for i guess. I'm just loving my Note 5 ;)
Michael how did you get that clock on the one plus 2 home screen?
It is totally correct what your saying $300 dollars cheaper but here in the uk it's a pain in the --- to get hold of one good vid bro
I really have high hopes for OnePlus as a company. OnePlus is a toddler making the big boys sweat. Good job, #OnePlus.
Um, how is the s6 processor more efficient than the oneplus 2 when the oneplus 2 has the higher multi core score?
Hello what was the star trek visuals you were using?
Nice comparison Michael. Makes sense that the S6 is a better device than the OnePlus 2 because of the cost. When you guys get a Moto X Style, I'd love to see a comparison between that and the OnePlus 2.
What s the star trek app u have in the video?
Definitely not a lot of money when you consider how often the thing will be in your hand each day...
what was the game u played in the end....the space like game?
what was the space ship game at the end of the video ?
guys , what game was he playing on the one plus two please
What's the app being shown with earth spectrums etc on the s6 around 1min30secs?
please what is this App at 0:14 is it in a real time ?
what's the name of the game he was playing at 9:36 ?
Samsung S6 is way better with those all features. Oneplus Two is also good, but they only make the phone cheaper with minimazing the feature (the unnecessary thing). The Samsung S6's camera is slightly better than Oneplus. Both have been good so far than the others.
If you want some features on, choose s6 but if you think you don't need it all and want the life's going easier, you should choose Oneplus Two. Nice review Mr. Fisher~
What clock widget was that on the One Plus Two?
what space game thing was that on the s6 at the beginning?
when are you comparing this to the moto x? and wheres the review for this phone?
what is the app he is using that shows the earth's magnetic fields and things of that sort? it looks really neat
Full review on august 17th? 22'nd and still no review on the OP2
what was the app he was using on the start on the s6
Can u please do One plus 2 VS Moto X Style? Pocketnow I am trying to figure out which one to go for. Thanks...
What was that star trek application at the beginning of the video?
I always look forward to Michael Fisher's reviews and boy does he not disappoint.
You get with every presentation, more professional and eloquent. Congrats for such a great video and thanks. God bless you.
