- I think this small, lightweight bag would be great for a vehicle emergency kit, able to hold the basic 5 C's of survival plus a few extra items. i put it to the test by simulating a desert survival situation where all i have is basic bushcraft skills, and the bag.

Wow what an amazing job! I don't think I've ever been as entertained from a gear review video ever. I have one of these bags and have used it for about 2 years. It's awesome, you should have mentioned how cheap it is. I got mine for $30-35. My cousin bought one too. I wouldn't consider it a "messenger bag" for me it's a "go bag". I use it on short hikes, my cigar bag, and car bag. It won't hold school books, that's why comes to my mind when I think messenger bag. Anyway, great review. I would love to see more vids like this. I know it takes a lot of work. Even your more simple videos are really enjoyable. Keep up the great work.

Right. That bag is rather small. The only things that would make this video totally completely priceless awesomeness is if the truck blew up when you looked back and if you would have caught a desert rat and cooked it up. So well done. By far one of the best videos I have seen.

Perfect "murse"---man purse. I have one and keep it as my EDC. extra pens, note pad, water bottle, spyderco knife, mini Maglight, asthma rescue inhaler, lip balm, just everyday stuff. Now I'm retired and living in a very red state, the CCW pocket carries a Colt Commander 1911 or my HK VP9 very nicely.
This is by no means a bug out bag or a dark alley bag. Just a good day hiker bag, going out for coffee and shopping man purse, or just a relaxing day in the park without shouldering enough gear to last a week in the jungle.
Awesome gear review video! Liked the story and that it was spiced with some survival tips made it even better. Great job you two put into this video. The music was perfect.

I can't believe how easy it is to get a fire going where you are. Here in the Pacific Northwest, it's often a very different story.

Cool video! I like a messenger bag because you can access the stuff without stopping to take the bag off. I have a basic one from TIMBUK2 . I think I prefer it because it is just one large compartment. Having a bedroll/shelter strung across the opposite shoulder is less awkward than it sounds. It can balance out the load a bit. Thanks for the work you put into this video. Very nice work.
To one of your cons for the bag, I have the Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack your UTG is based on and a nesting cup will fit but it's tough to get in. You have to practically screw it down into the water bottle pouch. And it's just as hard to get out. Anyone with the UTG might be able to do it the same way.
Great video by the way. It earned you a sub from me. Also my admiration if you actually wore that around town during daily activities while testing it. I can't quite bring myself to carry it as an EDC bag yet. My wife calls it my murse haha. I currently use it as a pistol range bag and your video has given me ideas on repurposing it as a car go bag as I don't have room for a large get home bag.

I have the versipak jumbo by maxpidition, it's great. I honestly think I would get this bag for my jeep go bag. they are super comfortable! great review on it!

You would surprise just many people are sooo unprepare. And find themselves stuck, abandoned, or stranded. Just afew key items they could maybe make thru. The bag you got there is cool. Stay safe Stay free.

Cool vid, funny crash. I've got a day pack with similar load: shemagh, space blanket, multi-pliers, lighter, pocket radio, water bottle, beef jerky, mini trauma kit, even my own little plush pup, in my case a Blue Heeler. ;) I'm surprised you didn't cuddle with it like a teddy bear; I would have, for comfort in that situation.

That was fun to watch. I did enjoy it. A bigger bag, as you said, would deffinitely be more useful. My thought is for more water 💧 A couple of gallens would be wise. Some corn 🌽 tortillas would be good, too, for energy. Thanks 😊
i live more in a suburban area and looking at options for a GHB/EDC i like this bag and love your review and the scenario you did and i pick up a few things as well. thanks for making this just avoid listening to hansen or any boy band in general while driving 😂
this bag is small but it will carry the essentials during an emergency situation. dude, i was rocking out so hard to hansen, its the reason i crashed lol
Great vid, I haven't seen anyone else do a real practical scenario review before, and I've always wanted to see one, so thanks. Great CGI and ingenuity too, you almost had me believing it was a real truck.
That pillow too, great idea, I've always wondered how I'd get a comfortable pillow in the wild without bringing one or using clothes, so thanks for solving my problem!
One other thing though, which you showed, but didn't mention, I don't think you were carrying near enough water for your environment. Of course some is better than none in such situations, but the erection of a solar still or some other method of getting water in a desert might have been something good to show watchers so they're not left in a waterless survival situation. You already had my sub, but here's to ya.

Crash & Burn!!! Haha!!! Probably from rockin' out hard to Mmm Bop! I agree about the messenger bag becoming painful when carried a long ways. Good kit though. Your whistle sounded a bit weak. I found a great whistle in the boating section at Walmart. LOUD, orange, flat, and it floats for around $2.98.

I've seen where the bottle carrier was cut and paracord lacing added to make it bigger to accommodate the nesting cup

Another great video. How was the space blanket? I myself would rather the bivy, helps with the wind. Those nights get really chilly in that desert. But still better then nothing. Thanx for making your videos informative and interesting with a pinch of funny.

for me a small backpack will always be the more comfortable alternative. When I carry less a big hipbag adjusted to a padded army belt + harness is also a good alternative, but here again I would also incline myself for the backpack, since you drop it down and you are completely free in a second, and above all because I think that to distribute the weight between your both shoulders and waist (in case it has a belt) is always better than pressing on one shoulder and dealing with a bouncing bag at every step you do, and especially if you have to bend over (and you have both hands always free!) NO a messenger bag as emergency survival kit would NOT be my option!
There is a way to fasten it to your belt that wasn't shown. It takes all the weight off your shoulder and it doesn't bounce.

i drive a ford explorer. i like a truck for outdoor driving, but an SUV because i travel with my girl and friends, plus my gear is better protected.
