- Hey everyone, this is my in depth comparison of the PowerA Fusion pro 3 and Victrix Gambit. Two of my favourite controllers for xbox.

Hey guys after the recent update, we can actually force a manual calibration on fusion pro3. It’s done by pressing and holding the Xbox,menu & view buttons and plugging the controller to pc. In the calibration mode we can set the triggers max deadzone by keeping them at the shortest stop and press 3 times. Doing so will make them 100% at shortest setting.
I did encounter a bug where my left trigger stopped working, after some trouble shooting I figured out, the trigger has to atleast register 30% for the calibration to recognise, my left trigger stoped it at 28-29, so I just had to press it a bit harder to hit 30. Now my triggers can hit 100% at the shortest setting. It’s not the ideal solution but we have one now.
For me, the twitchiness on the sticks also disappeared after I applied the firmware update.

@@thephototechy Hey brother, just wanted to pop in to say the PowerA fusion pro 3 has a firmware update that needs to be done through the PowerA app on a PC. I thought the PowerA was unplayable but after the firmware update, they removed the in-built deadzone and it's extremely responsive/Accurate, I'd like for you to give it a go and let me know your thoughts on it. I think it would make a good video
@@bahgoesthesheep hey yeah so did the update and made a video on how to calibrate the riggers to the shortest pull. I did notice no built in deadzones after the update, also it’s like the deadzones gets enabled if the stick is resting with less than 1% register. It’s something o haven’t seen on any other controller, could be a fantastic option allowing us to adjust the amount, currently it’s only for 1%, but imagine being able to adjust it to our preferences, and they only be applied when stick is at rest and not in use. Hoping we that option. Thanks for keeping me in mind brother, from a gamer to another gamer, many many thanks bro!

I’ve had three Gambits so far. 1 from Victrix who did everything they could not to honor the warranty, then I bought from GameStop, then the exact same thing happened (left stick stops moving player forward), then I got ANOTHER on return and 2 months in, the exact same thing happened on all three.
Woah that’s really worrying, I think I saw a shirt from someone showing a similar issue where the character would stop until you push the stick forward again. I honestly thought it might be. Bad batch issue as mine has been absolutely fine so far. Bro really appreciate you sharing this info 🙏
@@thephototechy this review was top notch and you got me onto the Fusion. If the Victrix BFG dies on me, then I am going to give Fusion a go! Indeed that’s what I was told that it was probably a first gen bad batch. Their customer service is awful but the controller is soooo good for Apex. Im buying the BFG as we speak in hopes that maybe the quality is a little higher long term. If it fails like the Gambit, I’ll be trying Fusion! Great review brother.

Nice review. What about the vibration and impulse triggers?
Would u recommend the vixtrix gambit or the snakebyte gamepad pro? Also considered how it will hold up in the long run. I can get the gamepad pro for $10 less btw.

It's a close race, both are great for me the fusion pro 3 is better (just for me, personal reasons)
I wish more mid to high price range controller come with a hard case, it's so nice, with it feels like a premium package
Got a fusion pro 3 a few days ago and it's really good and i like it but as you said in the video i had these accidental button touching as well, but now i almost used to it, triggers are easy to press as well (had some accidents with these as well)
Once check out the razer wolverine ultimate and the thrustmaster eswap x or s controller, both are amazing and reliable (this is what i read) i had amazing time with the x, 8 months heavy warzone and mwii and the only problem is a little stick drift
Hey bro thanks for your support. Did the Eswap x back buttons worked for you? To me they looked like a bit small and in the middle. I did initially wanted to get the x but got wolverine chroma, and only use that if playing any single player games.
@@thephototechy yeah, these buttons placement looks weird but my fingers rested on the top 2 and i can easily use the bottom 2 as well, i have big hands, if you have big hands choose the x , s is good but only have 2 buttons but 2 is enough for cod
power A 3 have much stick drift now?
@@Acsa3 sorry, i sent back the controller because the stick was faulty , 6 months ago, try something like the dualsense edge or ewap s pro
Been waiting for the review and I haven’t played with a power a in a while but I miss the feeling I might just get this one honestly because of comfort but the victrix seems like a really good alternative
Bro if you need 4 back buttons, PowerA is the one. If you can deal with 2 back buttons, Victrix is a solid option, specially since it’s been going on sale for a discounted price. I just wish PowerA had made a new trigger stop system.
I’ll be uploading a video on how to calibrate the fusion and make the triggers 100% at the shortest setting hopefully tomorrow. Unfortunately PowerA don’t give these options in the software so have to do a manual forced calibration.
@@thephototechy I just checked the other video out and okay because the pdp I brought 2 in the time it took to make this video since the last pdp and both times my pdp broke so it’s annoying the pdp is good but the paddles man idk I kinda don’t want to buy another the power a has been my favorite so far

With my spectra i set the trigger stops to the shortest setting then calibrated them in the app.
Hey unfortunately the app doesn’t allow calibration with fusion pro 3 yet. Only the enhanced gave me the option. PowerA has just released an update, but even after the update I don’t have the calibration option for fusion. Once it does I’ll leave a pinned comment, I was hoping it’ll come with the recent update but it’s not.
Hey just tried the update tool again, it’s a separate update file needs to be downloaded from PowerA. After the update we can manually initiate calibration, it’s done by pressing the Xbox, menu and view button and plugging the controller to pc. This allows for manual calibration for the triggers. Unfortunately still not able to do it through gamer Hq app.
Liked it at first but my FP3 lasted a little over a month beore it started malfunctioning. Dealing with powerA was a nightmare. Its a gamble.
Woah man that’s not right, specially with the higher priced model. Did you do the firmware update and manual calibration to resolve the issues?
I’ve had 5 Vixtrix gambits I absolutely love them but they ALL always have issues with their analogs over time. It’s just a matter of whether it’s sooner or takes longer but it’s coming
ive had a victrix gambit for about 15 months now and its great the rb broke a the 1 year mark and they sent me a replacement all I had to do was shjip my controller to them. about a month ago the replacement one of the back buttons broke but I superglued it and its fine
You are really lucky to get a year out of a gambit. Many don’t make it 6 months. Fun while it lasts but it don’t last long and the gambit will break
Weight of controller?
I've got a question about the back buttons:
What I'm looking for is; those back buttons should be their own thing. Not a copy of another button. If I want to press Y, I press Y. I don't need an extra "Y" key at the back.
Two extra buttons for two extra functions.
On the OEM controller there are 17 pressable buttons with 17 functions.
The PowerA one has 19 or 21 (2 extra or 4 extra). Let's say I have the one with 19 pressable buttons, I want 19 functions, not 17 because 2 mirror 2 other buttons.
Is that the case with one of these? Or are they just mirroring an existing button?
The back buttons will mirror any of the face buttons only, on PowerA you can’t map the menu and view either to the back buttons, but victrix allow for that. The functionality you are describing is something a PC controller would do, like the new scuff envision controller. I only play on console so can’t help much with pc controllers.
@@thephototechy Thnx! I play mostly on Xbox as well. I was wondering if there's a controller that adds extra buttons to the xbox. But I guess that's not possible?
@@MatthiasHeijnsbroek hey so in all my testing the only extra feature I’ve seen is a sensitivity change option bind, that’s available on Razer wolverine V2 chroma and ROG Raikiri. A total new button I haven’t seen at all, Xbox did announce the ability for adding additional inputs on the elite controller, but I think that’s on PC as I saw keyboard bindings shown.
Powera Fusion Pro 3 will allow you to remap a combo of multiple buttons to a back button though (but without timing data - so no scripting/macroing) - I use it in FF14, I map Left Trigger + D-pad Left etc., giving me an easy way to hit a tricky key combo.
So inhad the gambit....3 of them, they kept developing issues. After the 3rd replacement under warranty i sold it. Should buttons fail after a bit of time
Lucky to get 6-12 months out of a gambit before issues. Good controller while it works but there are much better out there
I just got fusion pro 3 so I’m hoping it’s going to be good , I have been using the Victrix gambit for a little bit now but it has some problems where there is no anti friction rings and my left stick for some reason stops me from running/sprinting in game
Also for the fusion pro 3 , I only use 2 paddles so will the other 2 be activated by default in game if I accidentally click them or they don’t work unless I bind them to a button ?
@@6Anzy hey they are very easy to disable, u just press and hold the remap button, when the led flash don’t press face button just press the back button u want to disable,and they’d have no function until u reassign one.
For the gambit not letting you run, recalibrate the sticks in the app and make the left stick outer deadzone in game smaller like 80%. If you still have issues I’d say claim warranty, if out of warranty, opening the potentiometer housing and closing it will fix the issue. This happened to one of my old spectra controllers and that’s how it was fixed. Hope this helps.
Idk why but my light up power a actually has more options n works better than the pro 3 even worse the triggers dont actually work after you reset there dead zones
Get the gambit the fusion is garbage feels like your pressing sponge if you're heavy handed like am there going to break anyway the left stick on the gambit won't last you long I have both , the gambit is great for FPS games I don't like the spongey feel of the fusion and it's to small.
