Good video. I run a 15” front bar as well, 31” DL so like Josh said, my arrows stick out farther. I do mount my quiver upside down, the arrow point weight on the bottom helps reduce the amount of sidebar weight I need. Free experiment there if you have a quiver that works upside down.

I like that you guys actually pull concepts from target archery and apply them in a hunting situation. Too many other bow hunting youtube channels have this attitude like what they are doing is completely different than target archery so they ignore the fundamentals. At the end of the day you are picking up a bot and hitting a target whether it be a deer or a piece of paper.

I get what you are saying about "people asking" for certain bows or popular bows in certain areas. Clapping back 😉 However, somebody has to pay for the millions of dollars Mathews, Hoyt, and so on spend on advertising. I shoot Darton 3800 and consistently out shoot Mathews and Hoyt guys. Never seen a Darton commercial on TV, but they have a great product. It is great and works for me. I did shoot it side by side to a Mathews when I got it (a few years ago) and just like you said at the end of this vlog, it works for me! Just saying! Love what you guys are doing and MFJJ is great. Appreciate all the knowledge and advice you guys are putting out. Thanks and good luck this season.

Really like your setup Josh. Being a midwest whitetail hunter first, I hunt quiver off 90% of the season. Tinkered and found that a rear offset stabilizer worked the same as the offset front. Main perk to going with the rear bar instead is it allows me to grab that rear stabilizer to get my bow off the pack. Easy two handed operation to get to full draw in a fraction of the time.

Awesome video as always guys ! Sorry don’t want to be an oddball asking about things that aren’t specified in the video, but I was curious about the rests you run at the bottom of your limb to set the bow down. I’ve read that they slow the bow down and haven’t seen anyone use one in my area, was wondering what’s your experience with them ? I think they’ll be awesome in a ground blind and on the range but the speed issue I read on the forums kinda has me questioning. Thanks !

On my VXR28 I run the q-lite quiver and to compensate I have the static side bar and flatline 6", but I run the stabilizer to the front and not back as intended. Brings my rig to perfect balance.
To be more specific, the static side bar is still mounted on the rear, so the stabilizer runs parallel to the riser.

Recently been learning as much as I can about stabilizers before buying some. Another well known archery content provider had a video explaining that stabilizers are used to cause more muscle recruitment to aid in shooting. You explain it as helping to balance your bow for faster pin on target resulting in less fatigue. Seems like two opposite ways of using them. Kinda confused as to what road to travel down. Any thoughts? Thanks I appreciate your content.

Matthews offset mount, I have no idea why that's even a thing and really should cost almost nothing😅
You know whats even better? Use a down angle QD mounted from the back, minimum 10degree (15+ degree better)and thatll keep it close to the bow with a simple connection AND its adjustable in an arc.
    Good rundown MFJJ🫡
But remember people, rods don't fix everything, immense stability comes from form. Stabilisers can mask or band aid an underlying issue.

Do y’all think 18 would be too long for spot and stalking? I’m a southeastern guy trying to get down from the tree stand a little and would like to set my bow up as such. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Dan, when you going to come to the dark side and start shooting at spot targets? Off season training via target shooting will hone your skills for a hunting setup. Tell Mathews to send you a TRX 34 or 36 and start shooting some scores! Would be fun to see a shoot off with you guys in it.

Tim here ... I'm fixing to start shooting at more spot targets to mix up my variation. Dan definitely likes 3D but I'm fixing to try and get him to do a shoot off 😊

Y’all touched on it but still curious about the benefits of the 10 degree vs a standard for your front bar

go back and watch it again like I did. the 10 degree down will take the figure 8 flot out while on target.

I run a 15 inch front bar and a 10 inch back bar and people here in Tennessee freak out when they see what my setup is. It’s always you can’t hunt with that in a tree stand or you are gonna catch that on everything going through the woods. I have a buddy who shoots with no stabilizers and missed 3 massive WV bucks this last season. All because he couldn’t hold steady.

What 15" stabilizer set up are you using in this video?
