Monetary value is an element of collectability whether people like it or not. Are you going to deny that Paul Newman's Daytona sold for $17.8m at auction? It is what it is.
@@Crmjewelers It's a very dull element of collectability with no intrinsic interest. A collection that focusses primarily on that element is not very interesting. Why not include watches that are equally rare and far less well-known? Because they aren't valuable enough to be bothered with?
The best watch episode on TH-cam ever, vintage over your RMs all day long. Three true watch lovers. Please we need more of this. Thank you CRM. Liverpool UK.
This episode was crazy good, a real jaw dropper, fascinating watches and stories .. Loved it :) That AP Royal Oak Tantalum was awesome I loved the look of that watch and metal. You could see and hear how much Charlie loved handling and looking at all those awesome watches .. Much love from London UK . xx
That my friends is what a serious collector looks like. I wouldn't had made it through this interview. Being able to see those watches in hand would had been critical overload for me.. thanks for the very special share 😀
Great Video - matt and Morgan are great - some of the best vintage pieces out there matt taught me a lot about vintage over 25 years ago - glad I was able to pick a couple up in those days
Great show. We had a glimpse of the gentleman's art collection. I know it's off at a tangent but if you visit him again maybe he could show us some things.
This is one of the coolest episodes of CRM so far I hope you guys continue to do this once a month at a minimum maybe every two weeks would be really cool honestly I could go with once a week but I know you guys are busy running a store kudos Charlie you rock thank you gentlemen for sharing your knowledge
Great Video Charlie. You just interviewed one of the Vintage God's. Matthew Bain is like knocking on heaven's door in the vintage world. Very well done. I could see you become a vintage expert if you would desired to. Thanks again! How does a store by the name of Charlie Vintage sound?
Thanks man. Glad you liked the video. It was a pleasure interviewing Matt and Morgan. They're passion and knowledge when it comes to vintage watches is off the charts! Charlie Vintage sounds great by the way.
I have been collecting since I was 11 when I took apart a Breitling Navitimer Cosmanaute 24 hour Dial AOPA chronograph that was obtained through a wholesaler for 150.00 This was in 1967!
I have only one watch in my collection, it’s a Day-date 36mm in Platinum reference number 118206 It’s all I have and it’s all I need. No one knows what kind of watch this is when I’m wearing it.
It's a complete mystery to me why these particular watches are worth so much. There are hundreds of just as interesting and attractive vintage watches that are worth tiny fractions of these sums (less than $1000), and many of them are of comparable quality and *just as rare*. To my mind, a really good collection would be focussed on mechanical and aesthetic interest irrespective of value.
Not only were the watches absolutely tip shelf, everyone did catch the Rolex frickin laptop case, did Apple cop that lol? Unreal, and the boys, I mean common.. incredible you guys. Thank you for the knowledge, the fun, the pizzazz, all of it hahaha, rock-on🙌😄🙌 keep up the great work💥✌️❤️
The beginning of the video when they are in the elevator had me thinking this was the movie "Saw". Im screaming..."get the hell out of there!" PS. Ive got the "Le Thermogene" vintage poster that behind the main watch guy. Mines a reprint, Im sure his is worth way way way more
The best thing about vintage is the stories that go with the watch.Check out king of vintage on you tube, jasper makes great vintage videos his shop is in Amsterdam.
This guy has a CRAZY collection...This is the type of watch person I respect.
Indeed!! 👍👍
Dude has awesome watches but they are the usual suspects…….All this talk watch based on monetary value which is the wrong way to approach the hobby

Yes James, they require a lot of research and knowledge.
They require a lot of freaking money!

The focus appears to be changing to vintage watches
I don't think changing, but they're definitely getting a lot of attention because of the greater exclusivity.
Crazy collection, but wouldn't it be great if he 'd call the crystal crystal and not bezel? 04:30
