A manuka honey face mask can help hydrate the skin. Manuka honey is used to treat wounds because it is antibacterial and promotes healing.

When buying Manuka Honey always look for either the MGO or UMF rating. Here’s what they mean:
MGO 250+ and above, or UMF 10+ and above is considered to be “medicinal grade”.

Manu ka honey was a wound saver for me! After abdominal surgery; I had several places in the suture line that opened and just would not heal /close. I got medical grade Manuka honey bandages and a gel in a tube from CVS and started using it. 24 hours after the first application, I noticed such a change that I started taking pictures every day. Within days, all had closed completely. I just couldn’t believe it, and told everyone I could about it!

Same! I have autoimmune and psoriasis, so wounds heal slowly and tend to get infected easily. Manuka honey is amazing for healing cuts but also great for acne and scars. I use as a face mask 2x weekly and really enjoy.

Yes, fragrance is truly awful! I still have a few products that I am using up that contain fragrance and I can see a massive difference on my skin when I use fragranced products vs non fragranced. My skin is always red, irritated, almost hurting when I use fragranced products, not to mention stingy eye area, I used to think that my skin was just extremely sensitive because I always had a reaction like this after applying fragranced products and never linked it to the fragrance.... now I can finally see a real difference !

I used to work in long term care and the wound RN often used Manuka in addition to routine wound care protocol with the elderly residents for debriding and to promote healing chronic wound management. I've literally seen it work with my own eyes. Very valuable, altho a bit expensive certainly worth it.
As always Dr D , thank you. Cheers from Vancouver Canada

You have such a beautiful smile Andrea. It's so bright and expressive. I think God wanted me to see this video today. I had a bad removal of my nexplanon, the pa made a bigger cut than needed and instead of the usual 3 mm incision, it's at least a centimeter in length. It also required a stitch which is significant because it almost never needs a stitch. I was upset because of how big the scar is probably going to be but then I remembered that I watched this video and remembered your other video advising to keep cuts moisturized to reduce scarring this morning and felt comforted that my bad decisions may not have such bad consequences because you brought this to my attention. Thank you so much, you've given me such great advice for acne and now you've helped my scar issues

People tend to notice the price tag of manuka honey, but it's only expensive in relation to other honeys. If you consider it a health supplement or skin product, the cost actually compares fairly reasonably (per gram) to other treatments on the market. No, I'm not in the manuka honey business btw. Thanks for sharing your knowledge of this honey, Dr Dray!

Manuka honey is so expensive. So, I just use 100% raw organic honey for my acne and dark spots. It’s so healing and moisturizing for oily/dry combination skin and it soothes painful pimples. I’d love to try it though.

    Hey Dr. Dray 2 questions!
    1. Does Benzoyl Peroxide wash/topical cancel out the effects of tretinoin?
    2. Is using Tretinoin gel safe for anti-aging/acne even though it's highly alcohol based? 🆘

I've been using Manuka Honey 🍯 for years. I've been blown away by the results. The main things that I noticed was that my blackheads and blemishes disappeared. I have always wondered if it helps with wrinkles. I use it as a cleanser in the shower, massaging into the skin then rinsing off. I always use above MGO 250+. I am Australian so I have access to proper Manuka Honey 🍯

I get patches of eczema on my hands in winter that often crack, weep and itch so badly. This year I got it on my palm which was hard to treat because it was contently moving. I started applying 20 UMF manuka on it over night, with a plaster over the top. in just a few days it has improved dramatically and the itching is 95% improved.

I used regular honey in the past as a DIY facemask, but ended up with red bumps around my face and never really try any products with honey in it. But I do love adding manuka honey into drinks. Thank you, Dr. Dray, for this wonderful topic.

I keep manuka honey ointment in my first aid kit. Saw it first used on my 91 years-old mother-in-law on a poor healing open arm wound while she was in Rehab. It healed beautifully. Then used it when my husband had a 5-inch arm gash requiring 14 stitches. Again, healed beautifully. I use it when my young grandsons scrape their knees, etc. It doesn’t sting at all. I am a believer!
