Most Americans are broke. Nobody can afford new cars any longer. Rent is high , food is high , cost of living is absurd but your wage doesn't keep up with inflation.

You'd be buying the world's oldest new lemon. After sitting for years, the powertrain is gonna be mostly dry, so expect AT LEAST some bearings to be gone. Also count a new battery and tires, and expect the interior to be crunchy after being slow cooked for that long.
It's just as bad here in Canada. Years ago I had a hard time and didn't make a lot of money but still bought a brand new Mustang in 2015 and still own it today. I need another vehicle and I can't even afford to buy a new one if that makes sense and I make almost double the money I did in 2015. These prices are so ridiculous. You would be a fool to pay them

Our local CJR dealership was one of those stand alone local family owned lots and they had very little new inventory on the lot. Then a regional franchise bought them out about 6 months ago and now the lot is loaded but as I drive by every day, I see very few leaving the lot. All these Stellantis products require a minimum of $950/month plus full coverage insurance for an 84 month period. That doesn’t include the bad gas mileage so you’re looking at around $1,500 or more a month on just a vehicle. That’s a bad financial commitment for anyone especially with many jobs not guaranteed as your employer might decide to shut down & move.😂
