    I think front weighs have gotten most everyone I know including me. I split a compact John Deere to do a clutch job. It split fine using floor jacks. Set both halves on jack stands fine. Removed the old clutch off fine until I took off the flywheel. The front half tipped over on its nose in slow motion like you had. Classic!

    I had a 3140 in my shop and everything was slow, I put a gauge on the reservoir up front and it has 130 to the front pump so I took the valve body off the front pump and found a steel shaving in the valve I cleaned it up put it back on the pump and away it went. I like those tractors once there split I usually put all new seals in the pto hi lo fwd clutch and put new lines and a pump in and they go another 30 years probably. I usually switch the hi lo lever up and down and see if the pressure changes same with the pto and fwd. Great video I like watching you work 👍

    Man I wish I lived closer to you warren, I have a 2750 that is giving me problems. Is there a way to tell if it is the main pump or the charging pump. I have no power steering and my loader won’t operate. The 3 point and pto still work though. I changed filters, cleaned the screen, took out the bypass valve and cleaned it. None of that made any difference. My next thought would be one of the pumps but I don’t know how to tell if it’s the front or the charging pump that’s giving me the problem.

    Very interesting.. what was sold in Europe as a 3350.
    Few differences, twin assistor rams on the rear lift, bar axles, the curved rear fenders ( mudguards to us) and an extra grab handle on the hood above the front axle.
    We never got the 50/55 series with the muffler above the front hood either.
    If you drop the 4wd drop unit housing, you should be able to check the two alloy pipes that can crack. You'll have to split it to change them, though!

    • @disturbedcarrot
      @disturbedcarrot 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah, I was wondering about the muffler above the bonnet, I thought that was a custom job to save on buying the muffler boxes under the bonnet which tend to go and are not exactly inexpensive to buy.

    • @nigelmchugh5541
      @nigelmchugh5541 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@disturbedcarrot That's probably the reason, Jimbo.
      The under bonnet ones run about 200 Euro.
      Problem is the hole in the bonnet doesn't line up with the exhaust manifold outlet....
      Watching the end, the under bonnet one is there, but it's the older model one. The newer style muffler was smaller and more expensive...

    • @disturbedcarrot
      @disturbedcarrot 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nigelmchugh5541 Thanks Nigel. Trying to figure the reasoning behind some of the differences. Were the bar axles more suited for duals? The rounded fenders allowed room for the headlamps? The EU's regs for lighting insists they go on the front and under a certain height - I think that's why EU Magnums had 4 headlights not just 2. Don't know the reason for the second assistor ram. I assume the American models carried AC as well.

    • @nigelmchugh5541
      @nigelmchugh5541 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@disturbedcarrot Yes, bar axles are a US feature, where tractors seem to live with duals on much more than over this side of the Atlantic. Let's you space out the duals as well. European duals usually clamped on the tractors rim. Roads etc a lot narrower over here too.
      Only the Hi-Lift version of the SG 2 cabled tractors 3350 etc) with the big step came with the twin assistor rams I believe.
      Air Conditioning was very common on the SG2. I couldn't swear every one had it, but a lot had.

      All the linkage is hooked up correctly? Clutch dump valve hooked up or stuck? Never had that happen. Did you pull crank and pulled clutch off and something didn't spline up. Does the tractor labor at all when put it in gear?

      It will try to move forward when you put it over into drive but will not go into drive. It will try to back up when you go to reverse but will not go in all the way.

      The crank and clutch was pulled.but everything seemed to spline up when it went back together.

    Ive been a subscriber since about 1500 people and have watched every video that you have put out and i don't think the shop has ever been that empty. Nice to see you caught up and what not. The only thing that is still there is that Durango. Thanks for the video. I did subscribe to David as well

    I've never seen Warren's shop empty. Just getting ready for an upcoming OSHA inspection?

    Just had this problem with my 3140. It was a one of the internal oil pump lines. Had a mechanic here. He checked the pressure and the same valve you did then proceeded to do a rear transmission split. He unbolted the cab mounts and we cut some 2x6s to rest the cab on as if it was on stilts, then rolled the rear end away a couple feet.

      I used to do it that way but anymore I just pull the cab, the time is about the same with less stuff in the way.
