Here’s another fun fact: Mario, Luigi and Bowser are the only Melee characters who were in another GameCube game before Melee, that game being Luigi’s Mansion. Among them, however, only Luigi was playable, making him the only playable character in Melee who was already playable once in another GameCube game.

*Fun Fact:* Lucas was originally planed to be a newcomer and entirely replace Ness in Super Smash Bros. Melee in order to promote MOTHER 3 (which was being developed for the N64 at time), but due the MOTHER 3's unfortunate N64 cancellation Lucas was scrapped and Ness returned for Melee. Similarly during Smash Brawl's development Lucas was going to replace Ness again in order to promote MOTHER 3 for the GBA as Sakurai genuinely thought MOTHER 3 would be localized in the US by the time Brawl came out, but later on Sakurai was informed that MOTHER 3 wouldn't be localized anytime soon, so he added both Ness back in the game with Lucas to not alienate western MOTHER fans

the jigglypuff fact that smash 4 is the only game that she’s a starting character is true, but only for wiiU. beacuse in the 3ds version you need to unlock her.
#91 is actually not true. It was a mistranslastion or at least not everything Sakurai said to this. He actually said something along the lines of "there were issues", which probably has to do with the creator of most classic Minecraft songs, C418, who is not under a contract with Microsoft and works independent and owns all his music under his name alone.
This could cause several issues, like Nintendo refusing to work with people like him because they want to own the music, to C418 simply refusing or a deal taking to long to be made.

#42 is actually incorrect. In an interview with sakurai he confirmed that that was actually a co-workers cat that he put into the game. sakurai's cat "Fakura" has yet to be added in any way to smash bros

Kirby surviving Galeem also gave rise to the rumor that Kirby is canonically the most powerful character in Smash.
Kirby and Ness are voiced by the same person.

It was and still is becuase of powerscaling
Fox is the only starter to not be able to not be able to say all of his voice lines since Brawl. That’s because Fox has one for Falco on his victory pose and (in Ultimate only) for Wolf in his Final Smash.
Falco was supposed to be in Smash Bros 64 as one of Fox’s alternative costumes alongside Slippy and Peppy. However, them three got cut due of lack of time. In the end, they’ll all appear in Melee and the other games, with Slippy and Peppy being in the Easter Eggs and Falco being playable.

5:56 I have seen so many people say the same thing. However when you google "Who's the cat in Pokémon Stadium. It says it's Sakurai's cat but then it links a Twitter post from PushDustin stating it's not Sakurai's cat because of the difference in facial features.

13:44 Kirbynwas chosen because of Sakurai thinking he would be simple to play. Sakurai thought of three totsl characters that could have survived Galeem's attack. To quote Masahiro Sakurai himself:
"Some of you may have forgotten but Kirby's Warp Star has been able to y'know warp since his very first game. That alone made him a pretty solid contender. The only other two fighters that could have survived would have been Palutena and Bayonetta."
Sakurai thought that Bayonetta and Palutena need to "have more of a learning curve" when compared to Kirby. Sakurai also said that Kirby is "well-rounded" in his moveset and doesn't need to be played in a specific way to win.

#99 - Sakurai has said Kirby was chosen because he was one of the few characters who could plausibly escape Galeem's attack, but was also the most suitable as an introductory character among them. He also acknowledged it appears like he chose him just because he created him.
Maybe he meant vertically flipped instead of horizontal? D and K are horizontally symmetrical.

Another Fact: Kirby is the only one to survive at the beggining of ultimate but ALSO he is the one who survived (or should i say came back to life) after Tabu defeated everyone.

Splatoon lore, in the games inkling normally die to water, so they decided to do something similar in smash. Sonic is the only one I don’t get that takes damage.
