- Super Smash Bros Ultimate has a massive roster of nearly 90 characters, but despite that there are a lot of characters who don't make the cut. That’s where mii costumes come in as they can let you create characters not on the smash roster. However there are 140+ mii costumes, meaning some were bound to be worse than others. So today I’m ranking all 140+ Mii costumes from the worst to the best. These range from geno from super mario rpg, the creeper from minecraft, and of course sans from undertale! So Join me as I rank every mii costume in super smash bros ultimate!

Another thing that adds to Sans being a Mii Costume is that you don't have to have the head with the body. You can have abominations like Sans on KK Slider to have Streaker Sans.
You can do that with cuphead and a lot of other mii’s 😆
You can put his head on the Shantae outfit and give him some chesticles

28:50 the pig with the body of a creeper is most likely an unintentional reference to how when Notch first tried making a pig he messed up the dimensions for the body by swapping the Length and Hight making a Creeper thing, it then inspired the creation of the Creeper

Whats really neat about the bear outfit is that its user in luigis classic mode route, in the match with all the miis. Now, luigis route is full of spooky characters, and theres only one spooky bear I know…

Indie franchises got alot of love in Smash
The story of how he got in is even more insane
Both the Zelda and Link costumes combined traits of different iterations, Zelda mainly combines ocarina of Time, Link between worlds and Twilight princess
Link mainly combines ocarina of time, Twilight princess and skyward sword
And notably the Yellow band from A Link Between World and Breath of the Wild
And for some reason not a link to the past and Zelda 1
@@babvlo Look, it's just to give a referential. True Zelda 1, 2 and aLttP also have a Link with a yellow hat band. But fun fact. If you look at A Link Between Worlds in Japanese, it is called "Triforce of the Gods 2", but what game is the 1 ? It is A Link to the Past. And it was also the latest Zelda game to come when Smash 4 released. And Breath of the Wild is the big new Zelda referential too. And, lastly, you can count that people consider Zelda BotW and TotK to be the new Zelda 1 and 2, but that's a whatever argument.
I think it would've been so cool to have a Plumber's Cap that changes color and has the first letter of the Miis name instead of having Mario, Luigi, AND Wario's cap.
The letter may be hard to implement (not a game developer, so I don't know) but I agree it should be color based. A few others like inkling hair or the top of the shy guy mask

I’m always going to be annoyed that the Miis aren’t in classic mode or Smashdown, classic mode I can sort of get since they’d have to make new routes for the Miis (Even though that’s a poor excuse), but I’ll never get not including them in Smashdown, that couldn’t have been too hard to implement
Anyways my personal favorites are Sans, Cuphead, The Rabbid Hat, Creeper, and the Minecraft Pig

This is now one of my favorite ranking videos of you. Mainly because I myself am the 3% of this fan base that enjoy playing the Miis. I honestly wish there was more content based on them, they’re really cool characters imo but a lot of people don’t like them because I guess it’s cool to hate on them. They’re honestly an underrated part of this massive game. High Quality videos around the Miis are an S tier in my book. Great video as always.
(Also nice to see most of the Dragon Quest costumes ranked high. Especially Veronica, she’s my favorite character in DQXI)

And fun fact, pig and Creeper share a body in minecraft. It's just the creeper's torso is 90 degrees and pointing up.

I honestly think it would COMPLETELY overshadow Sans. I know his reveal in Smash was the most hype event in all of Smash Bros history, but I think it would be even MORE SHOCKING.

The P3 Protagonist being a gunner wouldn’t actually make much sense because the guns in P3 don’t actually shoot bullets, they’re just shaped like guns to provoke the user
Also can’t forgive Nintendo for not adding a Dry Bones costume
I'm just gonna say this here and now: Sans is the objective best cus he's a deluxe Mii costume set, he comes with music, he's an icon in Indie gaming, and he's the most like Dry Bones (Dry Bones for Smash)
Ngl it makes me hopeful that Deltarune will get an actual character in a potential Smash Ultimate Deluxe, having someone like Kris or even Spamton in the roster would be amazing

I always got so dang hyped when new Mii Costumes dropped, it allowed for so many OCs of mine and my friends to join the fight with the proper aesthetics! Legit I can’t get over how well the Yiga suit fits our Russian red-wearing sickle-brandishing screaming “ninja,” Krasnyy.
Personal favorites are the Octoling wig (mostly for the goggles), the Sans suit (obvious reasons), and my beloved, the Neon Suit… which unfortunately did not make the cut. Potential mod, maybe?

The pig outfit got in because it was just a fun little nod to how the creeper was actually supposed to be a pig but got the model wrong so they decided to keep the creeper.

i actually found a decent use for the mecha armor. when the mii is male, its green, but when the mii is female, the armor is yellow. I used it to make a pretty decent mii based on The World from Jojo's bizzare adventure, since the yellow armor looks similar
I'll always be sad about Sans' blue eye texture being in the files (probably for when parrying) but going unused
The Erdrick costume is based on the main character from DQ1, which is not the same person as Arus, the main character of DQ3 and the one represented as the P2 and P6 alts.
I've never really seen the issues with the Chibi-Robo kit before, it's what I use whenever using Mii Gunner as my tournament secondary (or the Astronaut Outfit if they haven't unlocked Chibi-Robo), but I guess that's fair. Of course you have sliced the hearts of us Geno fans yet again, but if you want a serious answer as to why so many people want him as a playable character, I made a 20 minute video about it 2 years ago to answer that question, search "BUT WHY GENO" if you're interested
Your mii making skills are awesome. That Wario mii just looks so handsome
I like this list a lot. Cuphead becoming a Mii Fighter was what convinced me on the spot to become a Gunner main, which I have been since that day. And it helps a lot that they translated the character perfectly into 3D. It's absolutely one of the best costumes in the game (second place goes to Doomslayer for me)

As soon as I saw Sans as your Number 1, I literally was thinking: "Oh brother, this guy STINKS!" This costume is either you love it or hate it.

My order would be different but I totally agree with everything you said about how they did mii outfits in this game. Covering up the mii is best
Whenever I've looked at Mii costumes in the past I always just skipped over the ones that I didn't like but seeing them all laid out like this makes me realize that there are only like 5 costumes that I actually like
I'd probably give a little bit more weight to the costumes like Chrom and Inkling because they at least pre-dated Ultimate and released in Smash 4 back when those characters weren't playable, but yeah, your methodology is spot on
That actually makes them worse, because they should've played to the strengths of the Miis by adding outfits with a wider variety of usability.
Instead, they decided to include those outfits with the sole purpose of resembling one specific thing.
Why even use the Mii proportions at that point? They might as well just stick the character models in there, untouched!
Not only that, but the characters they were representing are already on the roster, so now instead of having a lame reason to be here, they have NO reason to be here, because honestly, why would you want to resemble King K. Rool as a Mii, when you can play as King K. Rool?!
Although, to give them credit, in Ultimate they decided to prioritize characters that have absolutely no chances of being included, either for a lack of legacy or a lack of moveset.
The Toad hat probably isn’t colored because if it was, you couldn’t make default Toad, so Nintendo probably just picked the most iconic Toad head.
They should've made it so if you have red selected, you get the default Toad, and any other color would give you a colored Toad.

I actually feel the complete opposite about Shy Guy mask lol. I wish it's hood covered the entirety of their face as opposed to only their mask strap.
Also I'm not sure how much this relates but a lot of these masks are actually directly pullee from Mii Plaza like the aforementioned shy guy mask.

I find it really funny how the video makes it seem like paying $39 for all the costumes is ridiculously expensive when in games today you get like 4 skins for that amount.
And no, this price model isn't even limited to free-to-play games nowadays. Sea of Thieves is a paid game but has similarly high prices for items as a game like Fortnite
I think I saw this in some lost content but apparently with Sans there is an unused blue eye texture.
I think it would have been used for when it was the last minute of the game or Mii Gunner was on their last life which would have been cool to see.

Yet people only use 1
Sans will always be the funniest mii costume, pig and creeper come in close 2nd and 3rd but they got the skeleton whose theme is from an earthbound rom hack in a game with Ness and Lucas, and they made it work flawlessly. I don't know what witchcraft convinced Sakurai to put sans in the game but it was 100% worth it.

I actually dropped an entire tax return buying smash as well as all of the DLC mii costumes included
I wish they released new move options for mii fighter instead of just cosmetics. As it stands they are basically the only characters that I never play under any circumstances because they all just feel like worse versions of other characters, but if you could have just a little bit more customisation of how they actually play then they could have quickly become my favourites.
They are pretty fun to use, you should give them another try!
I disagree about Knuckles, if the face was covered, this would just be Knuckles with bootleg body proportions.
But as it is, I can make him into Nipples the Enchilada.
It would be awesome if in the next smash game they add a fourth mii fighter type which could be something like a wizard/magic fighter
My theory as to why the Inkling costumes don't change color is because some of those colors such as black, brown, and white don't exist on any Inkling.

Seeing the Black Knight so close to the top 20 makes me happy. I was one of the few madmen who wanted to see him becoming a playable character, which felt like a real possibility before he was revealed as an Assist Trophy.
He's such a cool villain and his Mii costume looks so good. Nice list and nice video!
The only Mii outfits that I genuinely like are the standard outfit and the Heihachi outfit for Mii Brawler. I think those work best on my Mii Brawler as regular Mii outfits since I’m not a fan of most of the character cosplay outfits in Smash Ultimate in the slightest. Playing as my own Mii based on me I find far more interesting than making a Mii off an already existing video game character.
I also wish that there was greater outfit customization options (Shorts, shirts, tank tops, hoodies, shoes, etc) rather than just hats and full body costumes. More personal Mii outfits I would also greatly appreciate since there’s not enough of those Mii outfits in Smash Ultimate.
I would love more personal Mii outfits that weren't too generic but unique enough that you could play around with the customization with different sets
I really liked how the Shantae Mii outfit turned out. I started maining Mii Brawler

I’m a bit late but the Creeper/Pig costumes also reference Notch messing up the X and Y axis settings on the pig model which he liked enough to retexture and turn into the most iconic videogame creature ever. That’s why they’re bundled together.

One of my favorite things is mixing hats and outfits. Some have surprising synergy while others look blursed.

Sorry for the double comment but I agree with the Majora's Mask hat being really great. I've never even played the game but I think the idea of the mask and being able to slap it on any Mii is great.
I used the Mecha Suit to make a Stephen Hawking Mii.
The Steampunk outfit I used to create Teslakid. I don't know how many people here have played Teslagrad, so I dunno if it would be too helpful.
The Martial Artist suit can be used by Dragon Ball fans to create Tien Shin Han.
Also, yeah, without the hood on the Shy Guy mask, it would have made a perfect Allister.
