Viewers: If you’re traveling through Nebraska, if you live in Nebraska, if you love history, then visit the Archway. It is an amazing place but we almost lost it a couple years ago due to not enough visitors. It wasn’t getting enough revenue to stay open. Not as many visitors were coming as originally projected. It got funding to continue but still needs visitors, so please come and visit!!
No, because it's a standing agreement/arrangement with places I visit and pay admission for. If I shared the entire tour start to finish here on youtube, you won't go to the Archway for yourself, and eventually places like this will stop allowing people to take ANY video inside and share it. It's a tricky compromise to be able to continue to share the neat stuff I find on the road, while providing much more for you to see if you venture that way later. :)
That was very cool! Tourist camps... that must have been something back then. How ironic that in our ability to effortless and instantaneously gather information from the far reaches of the planet, we are less connected to each other than we were less than a hundred years ago.
As an OTR trucker of 21 years, I’ve passed under that arch a lot of times, but never took the time to go in. I didn’t know what I was missing! That was how that business was, been everywhere but seen nothing. That is one reason we took up fulltime RV’ing so we can enjoy all this wonderful country has to offer. Loving the great Nomadic Fanatic Lincoln Hwy tour. Happy camping ⛺️
In the 38 years I was in the trucking industry I traveled under that arch hundreds of times and never knew it was a museum! Thanks for stopping and showing it to us, Eric! Travel safe, be happy, and, God Bless! (5/23/2018 Wednesday 9:31amCST Houston, Texas)
There are signs along the interstate. I'm surprised at how many people aren't the least bit curious about it & don't bother taking the time to figure out what it is they're driving under especially since they don't pay attention to the signs along the interstate.
I’ve been to this museum before in the archway over I-80. Both my husband and I were born and raised in Omaha. Thank you for this trip back through our homeland!
Passed under it many times as an OTR truck driver....never able to stop in and never realized / dreamed it was like that on the inside!...I'll have to but that on my must sales for in the near future....thanks for sharing it with us Eric!
Eric, you've outdone yourself by capturing the true Nomadic Lifestyle/Challenges from a historical perspective while sharing/living today's RVing nuances. I think you have found another tool for your toolbox, and you're really good at sniffing out/presenting these video gems. Keep up the good work, and keep these kind of videos coming. Always, Syn Silver.
Stops like this are exactly why avoiding expressways is the way to really 'see America.' All the really cool stuff is in the small towns. Thanks for sharing this -- I'm adding a flag for my cross-country trip this fall. Safe travels
Eric, I must say I am so proud of you. You continue to blow me away with your skills, videography, editing, creativity, storytelling, the whole ball of wax. I been a subscriber from the beginning of your channel. Look at you now, well on your way to 200K subs! That's freaking awesome! BTW, I love that you keep changing up your whiskers; always good looking!
Just want to let you know that I visited this museum today because of your wonderful introductory video! Like you said, the museum is AMAZING! I strongly recommend it to everyone! Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us. Your hard work truly inspired many viewers like us. Thank you Eric!
I've driven under that Archway many times each direction. Glad you enjoyed the tour. Worth stopping a Cabela's in Sidney NE and seeing the headquarters of their operation. Bass Pro Shop and Cabela's are one now. Happy trails.
Yes it certainly IS the best!! It had me in tears being so humbled at what our people went thru and how important this museum is. It really was a most excellent museum. Thank you so much for taking us along. Enjoy!
Just pulled out my Rand McNally map and found this. Im driving thru there next month and will be stopping to see this. Totally awesome that this falls on what i call a " down " day on my up coming road trip. Very cool. Thanks so much for sharing!
I drove past that arch a year ago and didn't stop. I had no idea what I was missing. I'm glad that you stopped and took us with you as you toured the museum. Great audio with that too! Thanks!
My first nomadic lifestyle was being a HOBO for 2 years back in 70&71. It was GREAT seen a lot of the country. You go to jail these days for HOBOING. I see your having a joyful ADVENTURE. thanks for sharing.
Warren Eisenburg It was back in '69 that I learned to hitchhike with my American boyfriend. We saw Alberta, Idaho, Nevada and Northern Calif where he lived. After, we were married and did some Michigan and up to Toronto, across the prairies ( I'll never forget the enormous storm at Thunder Bay) and back to the West Coast. Love following your travels Eric, and yes, one of your best videos. Hi Jax!
That tour was absolutely the BEST museum tour EVER!! Never seen video used like that in a museum, but they all should start doing it! It really brings things to life! Thank you SO much for showing as much as you did! I like the clean-shaven look for a while. Sure glad you didn’t keep the mustache!!
The many small lakes in Nebraska along I80 have been formed by the removal of earth, gravel, and stone to build the overpasses at the interchanges. They made a lot of parks and such with the free camping at these interchanges. Great place, Nebraska!
I lived in NE for 7 years as a kid, but I didn't get to explore it much. It's so cool to see all these places there, so when I visit again, I'll know what to check out! Thanks for all you do Eric!
Eric...I'm glad you feel the same way I do about that museum! I cannot believe what a great job they did! It held my attention and wished there would have been more to see! What an amazing place!! Thank you for working it out so we could see and hear what you were hearing! Loved it!
Well, you just keep getting better and better. Your techniques, photography, videos, insight and humor... remarkably refreshing. That was an excellent tour... almost like a trip back through a time machine. Amazing. Keep them coming. Safe travels. 🙂
Thank you SO MUCH for going to all the WORK so I could enjoy a little of the Archway!!!! OMG, it was wonderful!!!! I’ll have to put it on my bucket list!!!!!
One of your best vlogs Eric. Thank you very much for adding the sound and editing your footage so well. Very glad you stopped and uploaded this to all of us!
An awesome video I now have a different feeling and perspective of Nebraska. Now will definitely check out Nebraska on my travels next year when I get out there. Thanks for sharing this with us Eric....Love pats for Jax
Yay!!! This is my part of Nebraska. Thanks for sharing. 😊 That closed covered wagon place was once a little motel. You used to be able to stay in the wagon. Didn’t I tell you to go to the Archway?! A definite find. Thanks for sharing it. It almost closed because they weren’t getting enough visitors. Can’t say if it’s out of the woods on that yet. 😕
I grew up in Kearney, and had coffee many times in the Archway coffee shop, and laid out on their picnic tables at midnight with friends and stared at the stars. Across the water, over the wooden bridge, just out the front door, there are real prairie life exibits such as a dug out etc. Kearney is an amazing town. If you ever travel through in July, one of the biggest classic car shows you've ever seen is held in Kearney. Its called "Cruise Night." The Archway holds numerous activities and a bbq that weekend. Fort Kearny also is an amazing place just south of the Lincoln HWY and sits on the old Oregon Trail. If you are thinking of coming to Kearney, I have a simple slide show of cruise night and some Fort Kearny clips on my channel if you want to see them before you come.
I really enjoyed it. Yes it is very good. Those people look so real. And I love Nebraska. It has all the names we remember from the road West! The Platte River, and Chimney rock and The Courthouse Steps, doesn’t it. And other landmarks. The Pony Express!
You got the message across Eric! So validating for your cross country tour called Lincoln Hwy. That Archway was a very special share. I love museums that integrate a variety of presentations to create an effect. So creative and artistic. I can see why you enjoyed it so much. Thank you!
Eric, I have to say this is one of the best TH-cam videos I've seen. Very well done, especially the sound track of the tour. What a terrific museum. You've really outdone yourself with this one! Good job young man.
Awesome! Serendipity, kismet, magic, call it what you may, you struck a home run discovering these great places. I'm so glad the Lincoln Highway is being rediscovered by you. It's taken a back seat to Route 66, but I think you'll spark an interest for others to drive this route. Keep on having fun!
This monument blew our minds everytime we drove by it on 80, just sitting there out in nowhere. Then you blew my mind with this video. Thanks as always for sharing such great adventures @nomadic fanatic
OMG, I loved the Archway Tour. I've been through there many times, always wondered what was there but never stopped. Thank you so much for the tour. I've never stopped at Chimney Rock either. Wow!!!
Amazing how many people pass by the Arch and don't stop! I think they spent around $80 million to construct that! Also, it's unfortunate that most people fly thru our state on I-80 and assume that's what the entire state looks like. For example, Northwest Nebraska is stunning...mini-mountains, canyons, array of wild life including elk, big-horn sheep, mountain lion, etc. Nebraska also has more miles of rivers than any other state in the country! Anyway, awesome video...safe travels!
A visit to the archway is not complete if you don't stop to feed the fish under the steel bridge just north of the main entrance. and if you missed Harold Warp's pioneer museum in nearby Minden, you missed the best stop in Nebraska. But there is SO much to see in Nebraska, if you take the time to see it. My plans this summer include the Stuhr Museum in Grand Island, and watching Case/New Holland Build combines there too.
Eric, thank you for sharing that. I know it's a lot of work to get done but I have watched you for years now. I don't comment really but you captured that tour so good. Loved it!
Clean-shaven just about always looks better and yet it's RARELY seen these days. AAWWEESOME museum!!😀..gotta go☺. 5 minutes into it, the thought of Disney influence struck me also.
OMG!! This was absolutely the best!! Your videos are always very enjoyable, this video you really outdid yourself. My wife and I really love watching you. You are never disappointing. Tell Jax hi and we love watching him. Keep up the good work.
Hearing your endorsement of the archway tour it’s on my bucket list if I go through Nebraska. I’m really enjoying your trip Eric and you look great with or without the beard, you always have a neat appearance. Safe travels and hugs to Jax.
Eric, that tour was definitely a highlight of your Lincoln Highway adventure! I enjoyed the references to the "auto tourist camps," and "auto gypsies!" Thanx for a great video!
Thanks Eric, Nebraska should make you an honorary ambassador. What a fantastic find and your video was so professionally done. We are lovin the Lincoln Highway all the way from Australia. Downunda - Melbourne Australia
MS. 1ST AGAIN!!! See the movie ABOUT SCHMIDT starring Jack Nickolas which he won best actor award! In the movie he goes to the Lincoln Hwy Arch and I've wanted to see more of that tour. Thanks Eric for fulfilling that dream! See the movie, you'll like it!
Thanks Eric, You did a great job of showing off the Arch. We know what we have in NE. and I feel badly about what you have heard about our state, which is probably why you took so long to visit. You have only great things ahead to show the World about Ne. There is in Omaha some of the original brick road of the Lincoln Highway, along with a lot of other neat things that we are proud of. Thanks Eric for showing off our state. Good Luck and Great Travels. Alan ( Littlegreenhouse)
Great video, well done on the Archway tour it was like being there for a while. Keep up the good work Eric and thanks for taking the time to share with us.
Who knew?? Definitely a VERY COOL attraction/tour. I thought the same thing as you while I was watching ... this is Disney quality. Reminded me of the The Carousel of Progress in the Magic Kingdom for some reason. Before you embarked on this journey along the Lincoln Highway ... I never heard of the Lincoln Highway. Definitely a route that I would enjoy. Thanks for an excellent video/audio tour of the Archway ... and thanks for taking us along on this road trip ... definitely enjoying it.
That was excellent, Eric! Nice job being savvy enough to capture the audio and make our video visit more engaging! Now I want to visit there! Safe travels!
I'm glad you're so tech-savvy, cuz that was the bomb. Makes me want to take a trip just to see the arch in Nebraska. Thanks so much for taking me along. God's blessings to you and travel mercies.
We rented a class C last year and me and my wife stopped there on our way from northern Wisconsin to Colorado. It was closed. I just watched this with her. Now she wants to go back.
I am learning more from watching your videos than I have ever learned from searching the internet. Love it. Keep them coming. Jax rocks. Thank you for keeping it clean. 😺
The archway was a great find. I really want to see the rest of the tour now. Thank you for not showing everything. It really makes me want to visit there. And someday I will. Thanks for another great video.
You did a great job of sharing the Archway. I was thinking exactly what you said. What a really cool place! It's definitely going to be on our list of stops. Happy trails!
Jax loves you. Look good shaved, just don't shave Jax...payback is **ll. Thanks for showing us the arch. Driven under it a bunch a times being a trucker. Enjoy your channel, keep going!
Great job sharing about The Archway. I like your passionate enthusiasm. I will have to make it a point to go through the museum of Americana that you unearthed! Keep on sharing along the Lincoln Highway....really enjoying it and your antics.
Awesome! Time for a road trip weekend from Topeka to visit the Archway Tour! Thank you for "exposing" this gem:) Great work on all your videos. Keep up the great work!
Oh. And I forgot to add yay Nebraska! As much as we love Washington state, our plan is to retire back to Omaha where our roots go deep. Of course we will be taking some trips along the way in our travel trailer. That goes without saying.
I drive I-80 from CO to MI often and drive under that arch. I have never stopped, but when I heard you were doing Lincoln Hwy, I knew there was a good chance you would :) so now I can get a quick tour... Thank Eric!
I was hoping you would go there. I have been there twice and it IS one of if not the best museums of our middle history there is that I have seen. A lot of fun and you did a wonderful job of showing it off. To everyone watching if you are going through Nebraska you have got to go to this place. Thanks Eric.
Thank you so much Eric. I'm not financially able to travel and see these things. I am born and raised in SLC UTAH. I love your videos. I really enjoyed this.
Thanks for the great tour of the arch! I drive a tour bus and have been under it many, many times on Hwy. 80 and always wondered what was in there. Thanks!
When you add your audio to the your video, your presentation like a theme park attraction, I worked Disney and it is like a transported Disney attraction. Good job!

What a cool museum...reminds me a little of the Henry Ford museum in Deerborn, MI...thanks Eric!!!
I like how you don’t show everything. It really makes me want to go visit in person! And someday I will.
Yes, Eric, that was an amazing tour! Thank you for sharing it with us.
This is by far the BEST of the BEST on TH-cam videos. Its a history lesson on the nomadic lifestyle. Great job.
As an OTR trucker of 21 years, I’ve passed under that arch a lot of times, but never took the time to go in. I didn’t know what I was missing! That was how that business was, been everywhere but seen nothing.

then they need to do a better job of marketing like how about a sign saying its a musuem where people traveling can see?
Jim Bridges, I drove for Crete Carriers, never stopped!! LOL
There are signs along the interstate. I'm surprised at how many people aren't the least bit curious about it & don't bother taking the time to figure out what it is they're driving under especially since they don't pay attention to the signs along the interstate.
I agree with you. The whole time I was watching the tour I was thinking, WOW, this is like a Disney exhibit. I'm so glad you stopped and shared this.
That was amazing Eric. Loved it! So glad you were able to catch to audio while you were filming. Great job my friend!
I’ve been to this museum before in the archway over I-80. Both my husband and I were born and raised in Omaha. Thank you for this trip back through our homeland!
I've driven under that bridge over 1-80 many times and have never stopped. Will have to make a point to now. Thanks for the quick tour!
Passed under it many times as an OTR truck driver....never able to stop in and never realized / dreamed it was like that on the inside!...I'll have to but that on my must sales for in the near future....thanks for sharing it with us Eric!

Very cool find! Loving Nebraska!
Like Nebraska? go to: donze52 (McCook Nebraska, Mr. Bill) Great stories!
The beginning was so dumb & I loved it! Cracked me up. I also love the old bridge. Interesting American History!
Very cool video...loved how you filmed the museum!!
I grew up in Kearney, and had coffee many times in the Archway coffee shop, and laid out on their picnic tables at midnight with friends and stared at the stars. When you almost didn't go in the Arch I face palmed, knowing how much you would dig it. Glad you did... it is outstanding.
That was fan-frickin'-tastic!!! I really do appreciate the effort you put into the videos for us viewers. Thank you, Eric!
That museum was really nice. I like how you can look out the window and see over Lincoln Highway!
One of the best videos you have done in awhile. Well done!
I really enjoyed it. Yes it is very good. Those people look so real. And I love Nebraska. It has all the names we remember from the road West! The Platte River, and Chimney rock and The Courthouse Steps, doesn’t it. And other landmarks. The Pony Express!
I've passed the arch up several times. Never had the time to stop in, but with your video, I now know that I have to stop next time. Thanks...
You got the message across Eric! So validating for your cross country tour called Lincoln Hwy. That Archway was a very special share. I love museums that integrate a variety of presentations to create an effect. So creative and artistic. I can see why you enjoyed it so much. Thank you!
Looks like a fun tour. Thanks for sharing

Very informative. Thank you
We rented a class C last year and me and my wife stopped there on our way from northern Wisconsin to Colorado. It was closed. I just watched this with her. Now she wants to go back.
Great Vlog from beginning to end. Trev 🇬🇧
That Archway is such a fun place to learn about the westward movement of people in this country. Kudos, Eric. This was a great video. Thank you.
Love that old bridge. That was great. Covered Wagon was neat. Nice tour. That was awesome.
I’m so glad you found the arch. I stumbled on to it same way you did and stopped. One of best museums in the country!!!
I am learning more from watching your videos than I have ever learned from searching the internet. Love it. Keep them coming. Jax rocks. Thank you for keeping it clean. 😺
This is one of your best! I really enjoyed the Archway tour video! You are way beyond most vloggers!

Thank you so much! That was a great tour. ..also kept talking about the Freedom of traveling in a vehicle. Great job!
Such a cool tour! That is how Graceland is, you walk your own way with headphones on. Thank you so much!
very cool, they went all out on that museum.
Thank Eric!
Thanks, Eric! What a great place to stop! I don't know if I'll ever get out that way but if I do I'll be sure to stop!
Eric you are looking less stressed than I have seen you in a while, keep having fun, it suits you.
Thanks for the great tour of the arch! I drive a tour bus and have been under it many, many times on Hwy. 80 and always wondered what was in there. Thanks!
Great tour! I felt like I was walking it & it's so beautifully presented by the creators. Thanks.
When you add your audio to the your video, your presentation like a theme park attraction, I worked Disney and it is like a transported Disney attraction. Good job!
