    I recall that when I was a child my mother used to tell me; don't speak alone; and I used to reply; I am not speaking alone, I am just thinking out loud ☺🤙

    In my opinion thinking out loud helps to keep track on thoughts. When you think internally you can easily lose grip on them especially if you are thinking about a new thing.

  • @Nebur9180
    @Nebur9180 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    So cs joseph spoke about dialogue not necessarily thinking out loud. Thinking out loud can also be internal monologue expressed verbally. People who have Extraverted judgement functions especially need to find someone to speak to and think out loud in order to not become delusional. So everyone has to do this. Different types just focus on different kinds of judgements, some to such that is based on wrong (Te), and others to despite the facts (Fe), kind of information. The cognitive positions affect how to have a dialog with them and basically how to speak facts or feelings to them. Inferior ones with grace, parent ones with patience, hero ones with steadfastnessm and child ones with empathy.

    Really appreciated you making this thing clear that I noticed. Speaking straightens out and sharpens my thoughts. Public speaking or with one person sometimes gives the most blissful, euphoric, experiences when this ocurs. It's like entering the perfect flow state -and as if something in me is edified, satisfied, like the universe just harmonized(maybe it did, internally at least). Thanks for encouraging us to speak up. Te infant here, loves learning on the lap of your Ti parent.❤ Thanks for what you do for us, CSJ. I and by extention, we the audience, has so much to learn.

    CSJ, thank you for an accurate and valuable assessment of a specific Te-Fi issue that is fair and easily consumable by those of that type. This Te-Fi appreciates you and I am VERY excited to get more easily consumable Te-Fi content from you since I think that you may have the most insightful and deep system to understand personality that truly provides useful tools for my mission to truly attempt the hard work necessary to deeply understand others. Seriously man, thank you, I needed this from you.

    This makes sense, I used to have a very close friend that is an ENTP. She would never want to engaged in a dialogue with me when I initiated. Because she said it was too much work. Quoting her "you're too needy and you need to solve your own problems ." That still hurts, because I was asking for advice not her solving it for me. After about a few years of her always doing this to me, I decided it wasn't worth it and the friendship had to end. I still miss her but overall it was better to focus my attention on my other friendships that would have those talks/dialogue with me. I'm an intj btw.

    Interesting camera angle there, haha. It's like we're on a romantic date. The cover of a John Green novel or something. But that's one of the things I love about you. You just don't give a f*ck. And in reality it's the substance of what's being said that truly matters. It turns off the right people, but I always find the honesty refreshing. I've learned that from you and have applied it to my own content. Still awkward as heck for my Te inferior sometimes "thinking out loud" since I basically exist in my own brain 24/7. Working on it though.

    When I read or learn something I usually like to talk about it with safe people in my life. it helps me a lot. actually, this become a habit between me and my INTP brother, we both benefit from these conversations. Sometimes he asks me what did you learn recently ?
    Because I like to talk about what I've learned, at work my boss gave me the opportunity to read about certain topics once a week and explain them to others and talk about them. I'm very grateful for it because it keeps me sharp.

    As a child, isolated partially by introversion but also by a strict socially isolating parent, I often found myself talking out loud, my strong inner monologue as I played, fueled primarily by Ti and Ne. When my much younger brother was old enough to play with, that lessened quite a bit (plus social pressures at school taught me to keep it to myself). My inner monologue is as constant and strong as ever, but it only comes outward when I'm isolated and stressed. It can sometimes help me to talk things through when I'm looping with Si to break out and find a solution to what's troubling me. That or I bounce ideas off my ENFJ wife and her Ni parent helps set me on a course of action and enables me against my Ni critic. My INFP daughter almost never talks out her inner monologue but likes to discuss topics she's thinking about or express herself through art. My ENFP daughter on the other hand is a constant string of noise, she cannot sit still nor be silent. Everything must come out whether socially acceptable or not. It really is like she cannot think in her head quietly and must say it out loud to make sense of her own thoughts.

    Isfp I talk to myself but I don't put my values out there. Don't like forcing it on people. My feelings are close to the chest. But so its like this I talk outlook to myself but actually expressing my opinion in a public setting is hard. I prefer someone to say something thar ends up being what I'm thinking. But one on one I can usually express an opinion but in group settings not as much.

      Lol my mom is an INFP and she would always talk through movies we watched at home. Something along the lines of "WTF? Why is he doing that?! Omg, no! Don't do that... WTF?!" I actually thought it was annoying AF as a kid. Kind of breaks the immersion and ruins the experience for other types. Funny, I never really connected that to Te, although I know plenty of other Te-types (usually TJs though) who think out loud and "talk to themselves."

    What if the person is saying their thoughts out loud to themselves to sort the thoughts out or perhaps to revise and refine their thoughts and their is no one else there? The person would probably feel embarrassed or feel intruded upon if they thought some one else was even listening. What type or types are likely to do this?

    • @Mysdefy
      @Mysdefy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am an INFP and I do this. Except I don't get embarrassed if I thought or learned that someone else heard me. I literally need to hear myself talk to sort out my thoughts. What I just realized right now though is that back when I was in middle/high school and my teacher called on students to read a paragraph out loud to the class, I was capable of following along when others read aloud, but when I read out loud, everything would go right over my head! I would then have to re-read what I just read out loud to the class (only this time, silently in my head. Basically, to myself) in order for me to understand wtf just happened. Like I was catching up with where we were at in the story. Lmao dude

    (On a different line from my other comment below), I once met someone who said their inner thoughts out loud in company, then continued on as if they hadn't, even when those inner thoughts were quite insulting to the company they were in. They did not appear to even be aware that they had even done this. Is this a type? (Or perhaps an illness?)

    • @heatherbryant4197
      @heatherbryant4197 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could be Fe 7th (ISTJ or INTJ) or maybe 8th (ESTJ & ENTJ), could be Tourette syndrome. Depends on what they're saying and other symptoms, if any. There could also be some overlap with weak Fe and ASD. Do the things they blurt out seem unrelated to the conversation? Are they accompanied by other tics like repetitive movements? Or are they just offensive opinions uttered with no filter, as if they are blind to Fe impacts they have on people around them and don't even realize they're offensive?

    • @webkelpie
      @webkelpie 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@heatherbryant4197, no ticks; no stutters. I could not make out if they were meaning to hurt/ offend or not. They definitely had a very high opinion of themselves and were extremely manipulative, (and appeared to take a LOT of pleasure in causing discord with their manipulations). So, I think they just didn’t care. It was a bit like watching Gollum, talking about those nasty hobbits’s in front of said hobbits’s, if you get what I mean. But this person would say things and then be surprised that others around them had insight… not apparently realising they themselves had actually vocalised this insight mere moments before.
      Fascinating but a bit disconcerting, in the way I imagine some people like to watch zit-squeezing yt.
