- The Traxxas Xmaxx 8s gets some new belted tires so there is no more ballooning. The Duratrax Six pack x are some pretty sweet tires.

Longer arms = longer lever,so more stress on the end of the arm,where it's breaking.
Get offset wheels and keep previous arms,but you will damage more easily hubs or bearings instead of arms.
The ballooning, if controlled, is probably better for high impact landings. Extra cushion for the slamming.

I put belted tires on mine and back flips were gone. They did hold up well though.
That's what I noticed, loose a bit of air control 😄
I just wrapped my old belts around my tires and it accomplished two things: 1) the car has no control whatsoever, and 2) my pants now fall down.

Check the wheels for cracks.... My Duratrax cracked after a few jumps... Nothing a little CA glue didn't fix, but still worth watching for...
Sounds great to hear you say you are going get back to the not widemax arms... I want you share your thoughts once you test it with the old arms.
I have the same dura tracks and really like them but not great for big air, you do lose some control. I have factory control arms with M2C extended hubs....it's not as wide as the wide XMaxx kit but ads a little with out the breakage....cool vid I love your bash spot looks awesome 👍👍

The non belted tire also act as a cushion and the belted tired things started to break so I went back to my old tires and nothing's breaking anymore

Nice Video. But 1)i would not go belted for Jumps 2)i would have a spare car (one arrma 3s bigRock/Granite or Traxxas 4s Widemaxx is perfect). To the mooooon 3) i will not instal the wide-arms on the x-maxx. Heavy belted wheels that dont flex much plus the leverage of the longer arms hurt the car as you have shown to us. Yeah it sure handles better with wider stance, but its a monster truck. a monster truck dont handlles good, but is a tank.

never ran the stock tires, bought a set of belted proline with the truck. esc took a shit the 3rd run but traxxas hooked up a new one in a week. picking up a NSDRC RS1 servo soon, it's so dumb how bad the stock servo is haha love the truck though
Yea the servo sucks on it, even the heavy duty one too. I went with Powerhobby 729MBL
It's all about the weight , but belted is the only option , I just got a set of sledgehammers , lasted 30 minutes , blew rubber right off the rim , I've got power hobby m43's they are way to heavy , just break stuff , I took out the foams and I have yet to try them , but I'm totally lost on what tires are good for the hobbywing beast , very good subject for xmax owners for sure your breaking arms cuz of the tire wieght , I've been there n back , but we need belted tires for it but lighter

Wide kitt is not good wider arms snap period. Its mor leverage when it hits. Bummer that way. Its so hard on everything.

there's after market hinge pins the have a nut from the other. should help pull it tight and not brake

Had the same tyres for my Xmaxx all they do is add weight bud ok it's good they don't ballon and they make the truck more planted but I don't think it's good for bashing as more weight on the arm's not good was looking at the wide kit but leving mine how it is nice air time though and was nice footage with the drone 🤘
I use the Duratrax belted 6 pack MTs for mine their bead locks which are cool but they easily slip off the rim sometimes

The wider stance is better for control but the wide kit from Traxxas isn't the answer. Pickup the wide kit from M2C Racing (It's cheaper than the Traxxas wide kit too). It extends the hubs while using the standard arms (stronger setup). Added benefit is you can also get hub adapters from M2C for 24mm rims = you can run the Arrma tires (like Backflips) that do allow you flip control in the air. While you're on M2C's site grab a bash bar and/or the shaft drive kit. Chassis flex is going to bend your center drive tube. The bar will eliminate that along with blowing up bulkheads constantly. The Duratrax tires are terrible for jumping as you've seen but at least they not much heavier. Go with Arrma tires for bashing. Most of the aftermarket stuff adds too much weight which leads to breaking other stuff. Gotta keep the Xmaxx as close to stock weight as possible. Bash on!

Its not too bad, after fixing the pin issue its been good so far
Belted tires are not as good for bashing as they are harder and do not cution the landings as much.

The sand ruins them quick, I change them out almost everytime I run it in that sand except this time I didnt have the time lol

Pickup some HRB 9500 120c batts from Ebay. I grabbed two to see how they are. Fantastic is how they are! Matching between cells was a lot closer than even my Gens Ace Bashing 6800's which are suppose to be top of the line batteries. The HRB's are cheaper/same price as the Zee 100c stuff, have a hard case, and fits in the Xmaxx with room to spare. They come with either Traxxas plugs or EC5 so be careful which you order.

Ultimately, I hate belted tires for bashing. No control in the air, super heavy so there’s more breakage, every. Single. Time.

I’m over here like, what? Have you ever tried a double or triple backflip with huge belted tires? I dunno. They have their place, but full sends and even light bashing are not their place

That is so true I’m starting to buy some new RC cars on a lot people be bashing them and if you even notice how much it cost for some of them even buying the batteries and buying the equipment and everything altogether is over $1000 it’s crazy depending on what model you buy and these guys are smashing it and breaking them
That’s what they’re made for there’s different levels of bashing you do what you can afford if you can’t afford to fix it all the time just bash it lightly a lot of people enjoy working on them and if they can afford it they can bash them all they want
