Pitts is 23. Mark Andrews was 23 his first year in the league. Travis Kelce was 24, where he played only one game. Jimmy Graham was 24 as a rookie. Tony Gonzales didn't crack 1,000 yards until year 4. Only Gronk, with Brady and Belichick, hit the ground running, and he cracked 1,000 only once in his first 4 seasons.
Pitts still has two years before the more typical breakout age.

This dude constantly falls down on his routes, gets bullied, or runs slow or bad routes. Acts like a prima donna. Also has trouble tracking the ball in the air and takes plays off.
Only the most ignorant ppl (Falcons fans) that dont understand football think that his lack of production was ALL on the QBs he played with. Thats complete bullshit.

Dude was still injured I feel like that part goes right over people’s head. You don’t get over a 1000 yds your rookie year by getting bullied. Yes he slowed down last year and gave up on routes because for starters ball placement was trash and like I said it wasn’t all QB play part of it was because of injury.

    • @prophetmaster4997

@@Unknown78437 Yet he was doing the same thing before the injury. Dude broke 1k yards because there was no one else to throw to once Ridley opted out of that season. Pitts became the primary target and they let Ryan throw the ball 50 times a game.
Everyone every single year gets excited about these dudes that are bug and fast but it comes down to can you play football? Those other TEs? Kelce, Andrews, Gronkowski go hard 110% on every snap. Meanwhile Pitts half asses on his routes, falls down, GETS BULLIED, struggles to track the ball in the air.
Just like in that play where he couldve made a play on the ball and DIDNT. Ended up as a pick. This dude is overrated yet gets excuses from too many people for his errors. Even fans from Florida who saw him play back then said the same thing

This breakdown was a waste of time. Everyone knows that Pitts was coming back from MCL&ACL reconstruction and shouldn't even have been on the field period.
I don't know any RB, DB, WR, TE that's going to be ultra productive the first yr off major knee reconstruction. Most players wouldn't even risk being on the field period, especially when their team plays on non grass.
I'm not even going to talk about the QB or OC, or HC...cause that's all secondary to the actual major injury Pitts suffered and was battling back from.
Him even giving you the production he did in my eyes was a win.
Make this video after this upcoming season, and we can talk then.
But to ask fans to Grade a player of really 1 season of work is crazy talk.
The man really only played 1 season healthy the Pro Bowl season.
The other 2 seasons...season 2 he played half a season cut by a horrific knee injury, and the 3rd yr he played coming off a horrific knee reconstruction, and he shouldn't have.
So, the narrative is just crazy to me. I just dont think it's realistic to think anyone could have been productive in the last 2 seasons under those circumstances.
And I don't care what athlete you put in that situation it would have been the same result. It could have been Jamar Chase. Do you think Jamar Chase, whose game is built off speed, and the ability to separate could have come have had 1k+ rec yards seasons having a major knee injury the yr of the injury or the next? I don't think so.
Do you think Micah Parsen could rush the passer with a torn ACL & MCL?!?! No
Do yea...people just aren't realistic these days. Folks aren't super human. People are still human and have to recover at the end of the day. Although injuries are a part of the game, some are worse than others

Hold up what….matt Ryan was literally a top 10 QB all time. Yes he may have digressed in his final years but you can literally never add bum to his name. Even in his final years as falcons he was still out preforming 80% of the QBs active at the time. He literally almost had 4000yds. Pitts had over 1000. Gage had around 800 if I’m not mistaken. You really can’t ever put bum on Ryan’s name

People tend to forget; The only year he had a decent QB, which happened to be his rookie year, dude had 1,000 yards. If Matty Ice was still a Falcon during this time period Pitts probably would've broke multiple TE records by now, and would be due a hefty pay day. Not because Matt was that good of a QB, but because Kyle Pitts is THAT GOOD when you actually get the ball anywhere near him. I say the same thing about London- Look at the tape, almost every single catch they make is heavily contested, OR a completely inaccurate throw that they somehow catched anyway.
Poor QB play and poor offensive scheming failed Pitts, not the other way around. I know Cousins is at the bottom of A-tier QB's, but that's still a top 10-15 QB in the league, and Zac Robinson is one of the premier OC's right now. I have a feeling Pitts is going to thrust his name in that top 5 TE debate soon.

On that first play. Ridder should have found a way to hold the ball for tad bit before throwing. And the ball's placement should've been ahead of and not slightly behind Pitts (which is how Davis was able to break up the pass in the first place). I think we simply have to judge him based on his first season. Because, in Pitts' second season he dealt with bad quarter backing and an season ending injury. In year 3, it was still bad QBs, injury recovery, and the sharing of targets with Jonnu Smith. From a talent standpoint I've watched Pitts get open with good separation even when his not being targeted. In year one he was forced into the number 1 role because of Ridley. Then he shared the role every since. I want to see Kirk targeting him at least 10 times a game. Then we'll know what we really got in him. That shouldn't be a problem since we'll probably throw about 40 passes a game hopefully.

I’m not saying KP doesn’t have things he needs to work on because he does but the first two throws a bad example of him “being underwhelming” the first throw was behind him where it should be in front of him especially considering nobody was really covering him from the middle at most it should be thrown at his chest the second was overthrown by at least a yard and a half. KPs arms were outstretched forward and the spot where the ball was caught still not in his range. Is KP perfect no but the ball placement from our circus of a QB room since Ryan left definitely hasn’t help.

  • @wikcr
    @wikcr 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

You can't catch the ball if you have the worst qb in the league. Ball placement will be top notch this year. Watch for Pitts and all Falcons receivers to shine in this Rams offense.

Well said. Hasn’t been a bust, but also hasn’t lived up to the draft capital. On the J’Marr Chase-Kevin White scale of early first round receivers he’s definitely closer to Chase so far and has immense upside this year.
