    Kyle Pitts had Matt Ryan throwing to him his rookie year and then Mariots the next... It's no suprise he didn't get as many yards, Mariota was missing open throws all over the place to Drake London and OZ as well that season.

    Let's be honest with ourselves, the man can easily be a top five tight end in this league if he had a decent enough quarterback giving him the ball.

    I think mariotta was like 0/30 on deep throws at one point in the year or something absurd

  • @Falconsriseup
    @Falconsriseup ปีที่แล้ว +15

    Any Falcon fan will tell you were not worried about Pitts. He is perfectly fine and we all know how garbage Mariotta was throwing to him. Mariotta actually had over 30% off target throws when targeting Pitts. The most in the nfl last year and to make this worse we actually had 2 guys in the top 5 lol
    32% - Kyle Pitts
    29% - Darnell Mooney
    23% - Jahan Dotson
    22% - DJ Moore
    21% - Drake London
    Aka Mariotta was just straight up a dumpster fire when throwing the ball and the pass from his butt when not even looking throwing it like a grenade into a almost pick 6 just proves this XD
    Mariota has the lowest On Target % among starting QBs at 62.5% as well so he pretty much sucked throwing to anyone at all on the team. London took off like a rocket once Ridder starting throwing to him.
    In 13 games with the Mariotta throwing him passes, London received 81 targets, hauling in 47 for 533 yards and four touchdowns, good for 11.34 yards per reception. With Ridder, London over 4 games was targeted 36 times, catching 25 of them for 333 yards, 13.32 yards per catch. On average, he received six targets per game with Mariota as quarterback compared to nine targets with Ridder under center. Moreover, London had a 69.4% catch percentage with Ridder, compared to 58.7% with Mariota.
    Pretty much with Mariotta a full season at that pace was like 691 yards With Ridder his pace was around 1400+ yards.

      Curious what you feel now. The guy is clearly talented, but he doesn’t get the ball.

    • @Falconsriseup
      @Falconsriseup ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@neilsix Still think Pitts is a great player although still limited from his injury. He still can't go 100% right now and comes up slight on some routes because of it. Still think Mariotta is hot garbage no doubt and always will :D. Where im starting to sway a bit is on Ridder though as i still think he has some talent and the O-line is struggling a bit in pass pro. But Ridder isn't doing himself any favors at all this year when he does have time. I think with a talented vet at QB the Falcons would be really good this year. The defense is playing top 10 so far which hasn't happened in a decade. The running game is as advertised like always. Bijan is putting up top 5 in the game numbers he is top 5 in total yards from scrimmage so far with like 450+ for a offensive weapon. A Kirk Cousins, Tom Brady, heck maybe even Matt Ryan with these weapons and defense would be killing it right now. I say give Ridder 2 more games and if he still looks trash you gotta pull him for Henieke. Then look next year for1st round high end rookie QB or trade for a guy like Murray if he comes available from the Cards. Maybe Fields as well im not sure on him though if it's him or the bears lol.

    It’s silly that they drafted him to basically play as a WR rather than in line.. if that’s what you wanted, why not get Jamarr??

    • @Falconsriseup

      Because with Pitts you provide many more mismatches where yes you can run him at WR anytime you want like Chase. But Pitts also can lineup at TE and have huge mismatches and also be a inline blocker. Chase is still elite and dominant as a WR no doubt but Pitts provides you much more scheme versatility and mismatches while still offering you everything chase can offer you as well.

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W ปีที่แล้ว +3

      With Ja'Marr Chase you always gotta play him wide out or have him come out of motion. Which is kinda limiting in Arthur Smith's offense. With Pitts he can line up wide, slot or even in-line and still be a reliable target downfield. The same can be said for Drake London who can line up wide or in the slot.

    I don’t think he was worth the 4th overall pick when you look at Chase, Waddle, Sewell, Parsons, and Slater where all drafted after him. That was a deep draft because it’s not like Pitts has been a bust just those players have been that much better

    • @TrillVilla5
      @TrillVilla5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well when you consider the fact that he won’t make as much as a TE if he was a WR, you’re practically getting a bargain for someone who has HOF capabilities. Plus his development as a blocker last season is going to do wonders this season and is going to create unlimited problems for defenses. Imagine him blocking a CB being flexed outside and making a huge hole for Bijan who takes it to the house for 60 yards after him having to only beat one guy in space.

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W ปีที่แล้ว

      To be fair those guys you mentioned were in very ideal positions to produce, especially the WRs. With Pitts in an Arthur Smith system he is always going to favor the run and going 12/Big personnel. The good news is Pitts is versatile enough that he could line up anywhere and still be effective. But until a better QB who can pass comes along (or Ridder improves drastically) you won't see Pitts with better production in yards in comparison to the WRs.

    • @TrillVilla5
      @TrillVilla5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you’re minimizing Ridder’s capabilities to throw the ball. Idk if it’s because of the Mariota situation looking so bad but dude can sling it. Just watch his highlights or tape of his four games. As a rookie he showed a lot of progress and I think a full off season as the starter is going to make him a lot comfortable in this system. Plus, all he has to do is put the ball in the facility of his receivers whom all have solid to elite catch radius. You’re going to see Pitts get a lot more shots in stride and actually not be overthrown like he was last season.

  • @prophetmaster4997

    Its not all QB and it wasnt a massive downgrade since Mariota outplayed Ryan from last year. Its the scheme. Atlanta has turned from a passing football team to a running football team overnight. Anyone thinking that will change with Ridder at QB is a fool.
    Also Pitts was getting bullied out there at times. Route running was an issue with both Drake AND Kyle which makes sense as both players were drafted because of their measurables. Both are young and still have a lot to learn when it comes to playing their respective positions which means both are going to make mistakes.
    Offensive line was the main issue since everyone besides Matthews and Lindstrom was getting roasted consistently. How Dalman still has a job is beyond me but i guess they want to give him another year as a starter.
