Price Hurts the common consumer, but this is not the market that this is aimed for. What they have done is quite nice. That 5.0ltr sounds & has performed flawlessly in all its other stable mates in the JLR brand.
One cannot understand that car unless one owns it...I bought an early D90 2.4 TDCI to see how it is to live with and sell it later once I'm over it (well knowing the defects upfront), but it's even worse now...I am sure I will never sell it!
Maybe $350k if there were less like 100 in total, and it has a worked v12 torquey engine from say its parent company Jaguar...not worth $550k...its a Land Rover after all 😁
Thanks for the review, but sorry, but this is so typical of 'JLR' or whatever they cal themselves. Just plain old gorging at every opportunity. There are numerous companies in Australia and the UK who will literally build you an even better Defender V8 with an LS, which overcomes all of the factory issues. This one even has the crap OEM hinges, plastic side air intake grill, plastic headlight surrounds, and the window blocks that will corrode in a nano second. An LS converted Defender will be a fraction of the $500K and you won't ever have to speak or deal with 'JLR' dealers or service departments ever again! Perhaps check out an LS converted Defender?
The people buying this don't care about price. Cars are now collector items. Value has never been about usefulness or whether you could do similar for less. Factory built means alot for those that care.
This is one of my dream vehicles.
We reckon every dream garage should have room for something like this!

Cool car but embarrasing asking price.
Tell’im he’s dreamin!
There's a British company specialising in overhauling the Defender that uses a Chevroltet LT1 engine! I think it's cheaper....
Nice ride Sam
But nothing but a daydream at that price
Good presentation though Sam
Thanks mate, we can all dream...
Yes please

More expensive than a Sydney house!

This pricing is UNJUSTIFIED ! , STUPID ! , INSANE !
Cost a house to buy and arm and leg for maintenance 😂
If you can show me a house for half a million bucks I'll buy it! But yea, this car is stupid expensive.
Hahaha look at house prices...dreamin
@arquadia3976 ha ha yeah fair point. At least you can buy in newly built area.
