  • Trying to get the greenhouses back on line and we are finding a number of the Hudson valves are not working.
So I took one apart and found the problem.

Best thing to do is to keep your receipt when you buy one and send it back if it fails within 2 years. They work great until they don't. You can take them apart, clean them, put it back on and it still will not cut off when it should. I have gone back to the old float valve type with the metal housing. They are more dependable and cheaper to buy.

Use the 1 inch hudson valve, remove the little plastic strainer and put an inline 100mesh stainless steel strainer before the hudson valve. I do this on my soft wash buffer tank, fills 55 gallon drum in less than 10 minutes.

would the galvanize filter better than the plastic screen filter?

@@baylenthesky99 This would depend on the fluid going through the valve. If it's just water, have the water tested. I prefer to run the plastic screen first then perform inspections to see if there is any deterioration.

They are basically the same design. The standard valve (ABS) is good to 125F and the V1 (Nylon) is good up to 150F. If freezing is a concern, you can use the continuous flow disc.

Should have shown how to clean it at the end.

That's a good suggestion. Wish I had included it in the video.
