how did you get it to shut off? mine will not shut off. how much water pressure do you have? we have well over 100psi maybe that is my problem. I tried turning the water down low but the float still will not turn off the water.
Great idea, and I expect the animals will get totally used to them eventually. They are incredibly adaptive, aren't they. Anyhow...wonder if they would be good for a small container pond, so you wouldn't have to worry about water loss due to evaporation, as well. Seems they would. My dad has this on his pond but the float is covered in algae which interferes with its movement. I’m trying to find out how they recommend you clean it. But I’m still searching.

Sounds link you may have a dud. 100+psi is a lot we keep our pump at 60 to 80psi
I've read where one person used it on their swimming pool so it would keep it level so can't see why it wouldn't work for your pond.
