This is leaving out the part where Toby easily climbs the fence after everyone got locked inside and he announced he is gonna move to Costa Rica after touching Pam. Toby revealed he is more athletic and physically able than his weak and calm appearance lets you believe.
the scranton strangler never actually killed anyone. in a behind the scenes it was said that he just choked them until they passed out because he wasnt strong enough
Another piece of evidence is that Toby was reluctant to enter the church when CeCe was getting Christened, and he said that him and the "big guy" had a lot to catch up on
That has nothing to do with the Scranton strangler tho. Toby talks to the "big guy" (aka god) because he used to be a priest until he gave it up to marry his now ex-wife
I like to think that during Toby's visit to see the "Scranton Strangler", he actually just visits the person he set up to make everyone think he's the one. During the visit he just goes laugh at him and thats why he got attacked.
Either that or the dude was his partner (maybe a getaway driver or something) and he was angry he abandoned him, Toby however felt bad since the guy was his partner. That’s my theory anyway
That doesn’t make sense though. If he knew he set him up then why would he go back? The man is on death row and can’t do anything to get back at Toby, so it would only make sense if Toby believed the man was innocent and would like him.
@@DDub04 It does make sense though. Isn't it evil enough to act like a nice guy, but he goes to visit the person in jail to just laugh at him? He probably got attacked and it just looked even better for Toby to make him look like the nice guy he tricks everyone to believe he is.
Is there a scene where we actually see the Scranton Stangler strangle Toby? Is it possible that Toby strangles himself in there while no one is looking? He does survive the altercation after all.
@@jvandyck87 or the guy was innocent and Toby confessed that he was the strangler, no one would believe the guy so he became enraged and did try to strangle Toby
Just realized that the blackmail Creed had on Toby in that episode was probably proof he was the strangler. Really interesting to think about actually.
Jessica Powell true. During the Halloween episode he said something like thank goodness today is Halloween. He blends in or something. While he was covered in blood. Creed is a very funny character at the surface but over the seasons you start to understand that he really is sadistic. But he’s funny too.
When CeCe was born, Andy got her a gift of the news paper, but because the baby was late, he had to replace it with a different title called, “The Scranton Strangler Strikes Again.” Note that Toby hadn’t shown up to see the baby.
The office writers should create a "documentary" where they reveal the real Scranton killer and his story, starting from his childhood up to now. I would watch that.
@@chickenpatty5547 i think he got strangled because he told the guy in prison he was strangler i think, that might've just been a theory i saw. don't remember lol
Wouldn't that make it not Toby though...? If they caught the person driving in that car, and Toby was driving that car, then Toby would have got caught. Obviously Toby wasn't in the car.
- Yes! The case of the horrible Redheaded sad-sack. - And the verdict? It was Toby. And the sentence? Death. - Death to Toby. *well that escalated quickly*
I mean it's pretty obvious since the show was quite mean to him from the beginning. They had to give something to that character. like they did with jerry ( who was having out of his league sexy wife & daughters which therefore made the character unique) from parks and rec which btw was created by the same person who co-created the office us. I can talk bout the scranton strangler (which is toby btw) all the day long btw. Or bob vance. Also, RYAN'S MISSING IN THE SCENE WHERE ALL OF THEM ARE WATCHING THE NEWS AT TOBY'S DESK.
When Pam was having a baby Toby wasn’t there and since Pam was having a baby toby was mad because he is in love with Pam. Meanwhile Andy has to change the newspaper from “ spring has sprung” to “Scranton strangler strikes again”
Maybe Michael was smarter than we thought, he figured out Toby was the Scranton Strangler. Michael loves his employees so much he couldn’t bear the fact that he couldn’t keep Toby away from them so he selflessly aggravates Toby so if he murders anyone in the office, it’s him. I salute you Michael, you were the best of us.
I am not sure if this is sarcastic or just anoıther stupid office stan whose only watched tv show is The Office so he/she thinks every single thing means something big in it
Also when Creed was blackmailing everyone by sending them envelopes, Tobe was the only one accepting what Creed wants and we never heard his secret but rest.
You can look it up on "Creed blackmails everyone" he gives him a green envelope with a picture of him strangling someone, so Toby does what he says. Im surprised Creed never ratted him out.
Is it just me, or it was much funnier when Toby was "normal" and Michael hated him for nothing? Cause later in the show he actually became annoying lol
As the old saying goes "If you constantly get treated like an animal, sooner or later you'll start behaving like one". So the whole Toby getting more and more annoying as the seasons went by thing I feel is just good character development.
Yes, I do agree. And not only happens with Toby, it also is the case for some other characters (cof, cof Pam, cof, cof); even if I don’t think that the two last seasons of the show are necessarily bad, Steve Carell’s exit affected the show tremendously.
Michael was never supposed to "Hate" Toby, it happened when Toby's Character was signing a b-day card for Merideth, and he took forever, and after shooting the scene, Steve Carrell was talking about for some reason he felt an overwhelming hatred for Toby while he was waiting for him to sign the card, and the rest is history
Of course... it makes perfect sense. The way that Toby gripped Pam’s knee that one time, the way he bolted and jumped the fence, the way he bragged about being the juror to the framed strangler’s court case, the way he never loses his temper so he doesn’t become a suspect, the way he reacted to the police checking his desk... Case closed. I feel bad for him though. Toby’s been through a lot.
MikeMJPMUNCH yoo I know, it's cuz the script writing. When Toby says that, he gets inturrupted so quickly, that you can't even process it. The writing is kind of genius
Um. Except that the response was totally normal in the context of the dialogue. I mean, I see what you're saying, but to me it is more Michael's line that foreshadows the Strangler Toby theory. Not the "you'll see".
I hate when people say that he was talking about the different radiations that were coming from different angles and said these are silent killers then micheal pretty much says he doesn’t care than he says you’ll see meaning the radiation would kill them
Actually the funny thing is Scranton Strangler didn't kill anyone. He strangled the victims to the point where they just blacked out and left them this way.
@@insanem5258 Doesn't that prove the anger even more tho? Toby isn't a killer, he just has so much repressed anger inside he chokes someone when it gets to much, but doesn't actually have it in him to kill, so he just strangles until they fall unconscious o.0
If the writers really planned for Toby to be a suspect, they created one of the best thriller tv shows of the decade. If it was all a happy accident, they created one of the best mysteries.
4:38 I genuinely find it REALLY CUTE and FUNNY when Michael gets to see the strangler chase drive by and everyone else misses it. His expressions are priceless.
It all makes sense as to why Toby might be the Scranton Strangler: First of all. Toby has always looked so miserable when he's at work. Whenever he wanted to say something, Michael would interrupt him. Michael didn't like him and didn't trust him. Everybody thought he was boring and weird. He'd also gone through a tough divorce. Then we find out he has a crush on Pam, but he had to watch as Pam fell in love with Jim. He then moved to Costa Rica, and only a few days later he broke his neck when he was zip lining and spent over 4 weeks in the hospital. Things weren't looking good for him and he was just suffering. Then, everybody heard that the Scranton Strangler was being chased by the police. So everybody gathered around Toby's desk to see the police chase the strangler through his computer. But Toby wasn't at work. We could also see that the car that the strangler was in had been in the parking lot at Dunder Mifflin before and that could mean that the strangler was at Dunder Mifflin at some point. Then, when Pam was giving birth to her first child Cece, Toby was the only one from the office who didn't show up. I first thought that it was out of jealously because Pam was with another man. But when Andy had to change the newspaper so it'd match Cece's birthday, it said on the newspaper that the Scranton Strangler has striked again. Again, when Toby wasn't there. When Cece was gonna get baptised at the church, Toby just couldn't go inside for some reason. When the baptism was over and everybody had left. He went inside and said something like "God, why are you always picking on me" or something like that which makes me think that he felt guilty which explains why he tried to convince everybody that the Scranton Stranger wasn't the bad guy. Too many dots connect with him
I absolutely agree with the theory about Toby is the Scranton Strangler, but where could we see that strangler's car had been in the Dunder Mifflin parking lot before?
Nice perspective about Toby at church. When I first watched it, I thought he just doesn’t want to go in because he said he was about to become a priest, but then had sex with a woman so he was kicked out and i thought he just felt too guilty to walk in after that.
@@37thousand r u serious? have u read literally any of the comments or the caption? the entire video is literally because of the theories that toby is the killer
Here, have some compelling evidence :D - A car from that has been seen in the office parking lot can be seen in the car chase, ( if you want to see the car, the episode in which it is most clearly shown is the parkour episode, where they're jumping over the cars ) - For someone so bland, he wants to reach out and have connections, he knows he needs to seem more interesting, but never once does he mention that he does anything for his physical body, like working out. However, in the episode where everyone's locked in the office, Toby hops the fence with such ease - When Pam is giving birth, everyone but Toby is there. When Andy is replacing yesterday's newspaper, it said on that days' newspaper "Scranton Strangler Strikes Again", meaning Toby might've strangled someone earlier that day - Another reason he might not have shown up when Pam was giving birth, was because it definitely hurt him to see that the woman he loved was having a child with someone else, and ended up taking it out on someone, strangling them - Not to mention how many times he sounds kind of ominous; Toby'll respond with something like= "I'm gonna kill him." "You'll see." "I'm gonna murder someone." - Also maybe a little foreshadowing when Michael says "You are the silent killer." - Toby always gets nervous when the Scranton Strangler is mentioned, his leg starts shaking. - He loves the mystery genre, he even writes books about getting away with crime. - When you see Toby coming out of the jail after being strangled, you see his hand is holding his neck in an unnatural way to help comfort something that hurts, he holds it from 'above' almost and the way his hand is positioned looks like the way someone would choke another person from the front. - Toby always mentions how he truly believes George Howard Skub is innocent, and that he was pressured to convict. (keep in mind pressured to convict in the next piece of evidence) - Toby clearly felt WAY too guilty about sentencing someone who was widely believed to be a murderer to death, however Toby is easily susceptible to peer pressure, but he stands strongly by the fact he believes George Howard Skub is innocent. - Outside the church, when Pam and Jim are getting Cece christened, Toby never goes inside the church until the Christening is over, he goes inside, looks at the stained glass picture of God and he says "You and me got a lot of catching up to do." - When everyone is watching the car chase at TOBY'S desk, the phone rings. Someone called Toby's phone directly, without having to be transferred by reception. - ( I'm not exactly sure on the timeline for this ) When Toby goes to Puerto Rico, he injures his neck. Maybe he realizes how fragile the neck is as a part of the body and that's way he becomes a strangler - Toby was SO EXCITED to be a part of the jury of the case of the Scranton Strangler, because that meant he got away with it and talked about it constantly. - Toby - as an HR rep - KNEW the cops could search his desk if they wanted to, and was very panicked, more than a clean person should. - Toby was also much more submissive to Creed when he blackmailed everyone, especially as someone who was a watered down goody-two-shoes. In this episode, he also defends Creed, desperately trying to stay on his good side because his evidence of blackmail was much more severe than everyone else's. - Toby ( from his own perspective ) thought he might've had nothing to lose, he was divorced, everyone at his work hated him, even at the Dundies, Michael drives it into Toby's head that he was disgusting, and no one wanted him around. And because he definitely had well-kept, pent up anger because of what was mentioned above, he might've wanted to take it out on other people, but he was too weak to actually finish the job ( In a Behind The Scenes, it's confirmed that the Scranton Strangler was too weak to actually kill his victims ) -- I know that when I mentioned Toby seemed too weak to climb the fence with such ease, he might've seemed stronger than we thought, but still too weak to kill someone -- - I'm not sure what exactly happened at the jail, but it was implied Toby KNEW for a FACT the 'Scranton Strangler' was innocent. He probably went up to the alleged Scranton Strangler, told him he knew he was innocent, and once again framed the 'Scranton Strangler', by choking himself, as the final nail in the coffin OR - Toby went up to the Scranton Strangler, told him he knew he was innocent, and the poor guy, framed, sentenced to life in jail or sentenced to death and the man who framed it for him, convicted him of it, was just only a few feet away and the guy lost it on Toby, then strangled him. - When Michael is forced to do therapy with Toby, Michael makes it clear he didn't want to be there, and when he was done filling in the assessment, Gabe looks at Toby and asks, Gabe: " Is that really how you feel?" Toby: ( hesitantly ) "Yes." Gabe: "You marked 'Severe' in all categories, including 'At risk for homicidal behavior' At which Toby smiles and chuckles - He also CLEARLY makes an effort never to lose his temper, to make it seem like a very unlikely suspect for a crime of any sort. - Toby didn't kill Michael because he was afraid of prison mike :D - When Toby hops the fence in the episode everyone's locked in, another small detail is that he goes in the same direction the car did in the car chase. - Toby mentioned he was writing a novel, the title being, "To frame a murder." Now listen, you're absolutely wonderful for reading this long list of my overthinking brain all the way to the bottom, you're amazing :) I don't know if you could tell, but the reason i have no irl friends is because i overthink the HECC out of everything :D
We know Toby has a lot of endurance though, he's a runner, he must be flexible so the jumping over the fence part is not so shocking to me. As for the "he goes in the same direction as the car", there are literally only two directions you can go from the gate lmao so not a real argument. When the journalists are filming the (supposed) strangler's house, it's not Toby's so the car must not be his either, he probably just has the same model. For the sheet Gabe was talking about (the homicidal tendencies one), Michael is the one who filled it out not Toby. It's totally normal to feel guilty if you believe that you've sentenced an innocent man, especially to death ; as for the peer pressure, GHS was thought to be the killer mainly because of the issue of the trial that Toby had a role in so it makes sense that he's not caving under pressure if he's part of the process that forged other people's opinions. As for Creed's blackmail, I'm pretty sure that part's not canon ? People who like the mystery genre and/or write about getting away with crime aren't automatically serial killers. If this is held against Toby, then why wouldn't Gabe be the strangler ? He likes much more gory stuff than Toby does. For the God thing, most people sin and don't go to church without having killed someone. The other arguments are interesting though :)
@yeehaw I was literally just lying in my bed reading this from top to bottom for 2 minutes straight. You made some pretty good points :) also, don't worry, I totally tend to rant and overthink things, especially on the internet.
Let’s not forget that Pam also rejected him and she started dating Jim, which made him very upset, AND when he broke his neck in Costa Rica, and Costa Rica was is last chance for happiness, AND the fact that he is divorced, and he basically gave up everything (good education, good job, etc) to be with his wife, and then she brutally divorced him, and it’s been speculated that she was abusive to Toby, AND his own daughter doesn’t like him and rather is in favor with his ex wife, so there’s that too.
Same , he ramined so calm when michael was mean to him bet he was burrying it all then lashes out outside the office, even if it didn't start because of michael he was definitly more fueled by him
Jamie Lc yeah, honestly I never knew about this show but I was only about 11 years old when this show aired. I only found out about this show through Memes but I'm now 24 years old and I just barely started watching this show around 4 months ago and watched it twice now :)
I like how Michael was the only one to catch a glimpse of the Scranton strangler's car. If Toby is the Scranton strangler than that was done on purpose.
@Smith-Mundts Modernization Act (Look into it) I think he refers to it being a reference to Michael always treating Toby like shit, him being the only one that sees the car may be a glimpse of michael deep down being the only one to know that there was something odd with Toby
And his phone rings. Note that Erin isn’t at reception to forward it to him so someone his directly calling him specifically. Also in the parkour cold open the green car is seen in the parking lot. *Toby Flendersen is the Scranton Strangler.*
Toby is the scraton strangler, in the parking lot, there is that exact car from the chase when micheal, andy and dwight do the 'parkour' scene. Also toby was the only one not at his desk when they were watching the scranton strangler chase. To add to this, when he goes into the prison i believe he told George Howard that he was the strangler and so he got angry and tried to kill him
Toby keeps on saying George is an innocent man because he is. Toby wants people to recognise him for being the Scranton Strangler because he wants attention and to be remembered as something other than a lame boring person. Toby wants to be found out.
And also, when he went to see the alleged Scranton Strangler he gets attacked by him. Probably because he confessed to him that he was the real strangler?!
Alex Clark-Thompson Not all serial killers kill just simply to murder. In fact, most do it for attention; whether that attention is from someone in their life, the media, etc. In Toby’s case, I think it’s both. He wants attention from his coworkers (i.e. Pam, whom he’s in love with or Michael, who hates him) and from the media because *no one* likes him. He’s also gone through a messy divorce, too, which could have really hammered it in. The killings were strangulation, as well. It’s not intimate, unlike stabbings, which is a form of penetration. He could have done a lot more, but didn’t which means he cares more about what happens *after* the killings, meaning he wants the attention. Therefore, if *he* were to get caught, he would have more attention than the guy locked up (and also if he continued killing he would still be sought after, only as a copycat, which is something worse to be known as)
yo this is the best piece of evidence yet, went back and checked the parkour episode and it is the same car. Also it was him calling the office to confess when the phone rang :00
I doubt it because the strangler was caught in that chase ,and Toby did comeback in the following episodes so it is highly unlikely, that this is true. Check your s$@“: next time bud
The green car that the strangler was driving while the cops were chasing him can be seen in the Dunder Mifflin parking lot in several episodes. Also, Toby is the only one not there while everybody is watching the car chase on tv.
Joey Healy not to mention someone calls his desk and no one is there to direct the call to his desk because Erin is there and that means it had to be someone who directly knew his number, could be him calling to confess?
Plus, they are watching it at his desk. Also, the phone rang before Kelly hung it up, so whoever called knew Toby's extension Number and knew that no one was at the front desk
He could've been doing that to lower suspicion, he knew Kelly could do no permanent harm to him, but he knew letting her beat him up would make him look weak, and turn attention away from him
after watching this, i highly believe it's toby. i feel like its now so easy to tell. he's so shy and is always shut down, especially by michael, so he just finally lost it
Jim - “Sounds like someone’s really trying to convince us that he’s not the Scranton strangler” Dwight - “To my chickens I’m the Scranton strangler” So good
I feel like Gabe knew about Toby being the strangler and helped him cover it up. That’s why he does want them to watch the car chase. I think that the Scranton Strangler was both Gabe and Toby working together. Sometimes Toby would kill, and other times Gabe would kill. The sad part is that I really like both Gabe and Toby.
All of the Scranton strangler mentions happen after toby breaks his neck in Costa Rica, and one of the first times were introduced to the Scranton Strangler is when pam, his longtime crush, is having a baby with another man.
His method of choice was because he knew the pain of neck injury first hand and decided to use that against other people. He realized how fragile the neck is.
Spoilers. Wait what if it's Roy? Wait no he had a wedding... the guy Michael fired during season one? No... he was rehired by dwight. Creed? Maybe creed and toby? Definitely possible
Because it’s small town and lame job paper salesman so they strangler is somthing to talk about like In real life at a job white people just love to talk about point less things
Looks like they literally just admitted to us that Toby is NOT the strangler. Did you watch the video? He gets strangled at the end by the real strangler and they say that the man in jail is the real strangler lmao
Toby knew everything he did in the office was documented, and he played around it. And "making a strangler" refers to the fact that Toby made a strangler. The imprisoned dude was set up by Toby, and ultimately Toby revealed to him that he knew he wasn't the strangler. The outcome of this was that Toby got strangled, which perhaps was his plan - to prove the fact that the imprisoned dude actually was the strangler, despite the simple fact that he wasn't.
O. K. E. They didn't show him in the scene during the car chase. I wonder if he was actually being chased but managed to escape and frame someone else..
i just realized toby never killed michael. toby probably feels internally guilty for his crimes, and because michael ridicules him so much, toby believes he deserves to be punished by the words of michael
I just thought because Micheal always makes fun of him and sometimes he goes way beyond so if ge tries to kill him then that gives him mo and makes him a prime suspect.
@@tusharbehera8956 A serial killer usually don't kill people they personally know, as to not draw suspision. Because let's face it, if you are murdered, there is like a 95% chance that you knew the person that murdered you. A friend, a neighbour, a lover, family member, work colleuge etc...
Honestly I think it’d be hilarious if Toby wasn’t the strangler and he’s just receiving the accusations of being a murderer and everyone going along with it
The actor of Toby once said in an interview that he isn't. They never wrote it to be that way. the fans just kinda did and became really interesting how it does make toby look like the strangler. would've been cool if he originally was though.
There was an episode where Jim and Pam are christening their child and Toby is at the entrance and he backs out of the church. he then says “we have a lot of catching up to do me and god”
Toby _is_ the strangler. After the trial, he felt extremely guilty that another man was going to die for his crime. Toby went to the prison to clear his conscience. He confessed to George, the convicted strangler, that _he_ was the real strangler and had set him up. George was so angry at Toby that he attacked him. After that, Toby hated George for almost killing him, so he felt no guilt that he would soon be put to death.
remy the rat Pretty sure if Toby’s the Stangler, and a serial killer, then he’s a psychopath, and certainly not remorseful for his actions. I think it is more likely that Toby acted the way he did, trying to convince everyone that George Howard Scub was innocent, was all a ploy to convince everyone indefinitely of the “stranglers” guilt. Essentially fabricating the persona of an individual who is completely convinced of Scubs innocence, only to he himself be convinced otherwise. With the last piece of that plan being going to the prison and meeting the strangler saying whatever he needed to to get Scub to strangle him, proving without a doubt Scubs guilt. It’s kind of genius really.
If you remember the episode where Jim skips work. The empanada guy greets Toby with a choke strangling action. That's the convincing point where I was thinking yup Toby is the one
This is the very episode that vindicates Toby as the strangler. It just doesnt fit. So youre saying Toby gets upset that the falsely accused stranger (who's on death row) attacks him? The strangler is about to die! Why wouldnt he attack the the man who's "really the killer". It doesn't make sense that Toby would be mad at the killer.
There's something so amazing and real about the scene where Jim sits down with Toby to talk about counseling. They obviously had an opportunity to transition to funny when Clark comes in and Toby tells him to leave but they didn't take it and I love that. They really used the scene to develop Toby's character. Lots of compassion but clearly plenty of suffering going on with him. He's always been one of my favorite characters.
4:26 also, that greenish car is seen on the parking lot of dunder mifflin in a few episodes and toby changed cars (you can see him driving different ones) at least 2 times in the series
In an interview with the actor that plays Toby, he also writes for the show, he mentions that the strangler rarely kills his victims just strangles them almost to death. Therefore it makes sense for mini Dwight to dissappear and reappear, maybe he was just badly hurt
Toby is definitely the Scranton strangler let's look at his life his ex wife divorced him and re-married and he doesn't see his daughter but most likely pays alot in child support. He works for HR, he's hated by his boss and other co-workers. The girl he falls in love with Pam Marry's Jim and has two kids, also do you notice he moves to Costa Rica after Kevin mentioned to Jan they found the body of one of the Scranton strangler's victim? Do you notice the killings completely stop then restart when he moves back? Also I think everyone in the office knows he's the Scranton strangler but simply ignore it. The fact that he's always trying to convince anyone who listens that the man they convicted is actually innocent proves he's the actual killer and his colleagues most likely know it's him because in the episode The Chase he calls the office and his number pops up on the screen.
Also the Scranton Stangler just stops after Michael leaves; if Toby is the Scranton strangler then Michael could be the main source of his pent-up frustration. Him leaving was a chance for him to start fresh; he went to visit the pressumed strangler to cover his tracks.
I’ve always felt bad for how they treated Toby, he seemed like a really nice guy, and then Michael influenced everyone else to treat him the same. Which in the show, lead up to him being the strangler.
For some reason everyone who was manager hated Toby. Could be following Michael's footsteps but, Andy I can vaguely remember being mean to Toby on a few occasions, and Dwight just straight up fired him once he became manager.
Yeah like Toby is just kinda the character who sits in the back and doesn’t do anything and everyone is just like “shut up” and I’m like dang give him a break what he do to you!?
Frosty Teacup I think Nellie didn’t like him because she thought he was weird, and even after she wasn’t manager, when she remembered her and Toby had kissed she was disgusted. But yeah I always felt bad because he never really did anything wrong besides be nice, otherwise voice his opinion.
Hvnlyskye GD Exactly! I really felt bad for him because he really liked Pam, but never got the chance to tell her: Pam even said herself she thought he was kind of cute. It just broke my heart because Toby honestly was a really sweet guy.
He was the strangler. In the Creed blackmail episode apparently Creed has something so serious that he chose not to reprimand him. And then he put away the file with the dirt Creed had on him
King Solomon the first few times I watched the season yes I felt so bad for him. But I’ve watched it many many times since and Toby annoys the hell out of me too. And he is so creepy and sketchy
They don’t have a “best of Toby” but they have this episode
Harriett and Ben I don’t think this is the real office channel
michael scott runs this channel we all know it
@wipmat 007 it is either this one or the other one but I believe this is the real channel
There is no best of Toby
There is no beat of Toby because Toby is the worse 😂
This is such a underrated line from Dwight
“To my chickens I’m the Scranton strangler”
this made me scream!
I honestly don't know if this is just a "Dwight being Dwight" moment or a double entendre
STLCODPS3123 both which is why it’s so so good
Take away the plurality in ,"chickens" and that becomes a much different sentence
Yes! I didnt remember it but when I saw it all I could think was, oh shit! Dwight just straight up admitted to choking his chickens lolol
This is leaving out the part where Toby easily climbs the fence after everyone got locked inside and he announced he is gonna move to Costa Rica after touching Pam. Toby revealed he is more athletic and physically able than his weak and calm appearance lets you believe.
exactly
Plus the episode ‘Fun Run’ where Toby comes first out of everyone
He also won the fun run... It seems pretty obvious that the character toby is in shape.

Hello there
the scranton strangler never actually killed anyone. in a behind the scenes it was said that he just choked them until they passed out because he wasnt strong enough
Sounds like Toby to me
If that was true, why was he on death row?
Jonathan Campbell a lot of attempted murder would be my guess
Jonathan Campbell Attempted murder cases rack up
definitely sounds like Toby lol but why would someone get the death penalty for that?
Another piece of evidence is that Toby was reluctant to enter the church when CeCe was getting Christened, and he said that him and the "big guy" had a lot to catch up on
Toby also used to be in Seminary to be a Priest. He gave that up and left the faith completely.
That has nothing to do with the Scranton strangler tho. Toby talks to the "big guy" (aka god) because he used to be a priest until he gave it up to marry his now ex-wife
Michael called Tobey the Antichrist too.
“Why you always so mean to me?”
That could mean anything
He probably got attacked and it just looked even better for Toby to make him look like the nice guy he tricks everyone to believe he is.

omg wait yeah! because he liked Pam!
He had a crush on Pam
No duh
The Scranton strangler didn’t kill
Strangler never killed anyone
It all makes sense as to why Toby might be the Scranton Strangler:
First of all.
Kayla06091 No he left the ministry so that he could do it
And when the phone rung it could have been someone that new toby and his car and was asking if that’s his car

The reason Toby is so sure the accused suspect isn't the Scranton strangler, is because he is.

@@prodyungyu did you seriously not get the joke?
Nah
Toby is kind, remember he was very sweet with Michael when toby was supposed to counsel him
Here, have some compelling evidence :D
- A car from that has been seen in the office parking lot can be seen in the car chase, ( if you want to see the car, the episode in which it is most clearly shown is the parkour episode, where they're jumping over the cars )
- For someone so bland, he wants to reach out and have connections, he knows he needs to seem more interesting, but never once does he mention that he does anything for his physical body, like working out. However, in the episode where everyone's locked in the office, Toby hops the fence with such ease
- When Pam is giving birth, everyone but Toby is there. When Andy is replacing yesterday's newspaper, it said on that days' newspaper "Scranton Strangler Strikes Again", meaning Toby might've strangled someone earlier that day
- Another reason he might not have shown up when Pam was giving birth, was because it definitely hurt him to see that the woman he loved was having a child with someone else, and ended up taking it out on someone, strangling them
- Not to mention how many times he sounds kind of ominous; Toby'll respond with something like=
"I'm gonna kill him."
"You'll see."
"I'm gonna murder someone."
- Also maybe a little foreshadowing when Michael says "You are the silent killer."
- Toby always gets nervous when the Scranton Strangler is mentioned, his leg starts shaking.
(keep in mind pressured to convict in the next piece of evidence)
- Toby clearly felt WAY too guilty about sentencing someone who was widely believed to be a murderer to death, however Toby is easily susceptible to peer pressure, but he stands strongly by the fact he believes George Howard Skub is innocent.
- Outside the church, when Pam and Jim are getting Cece christened, Toby never goes inside the church until the Christening is over, he goes inside, looks at the stained glass picture of God and he says
"You and me got a lot of catching up to do."
- When everyone is watching the car chase at TOBY'S desk, the phone rings. Someone called Toby's phone directly, without having to be transferred by reception.
- ( I'm not exactly sure on the timeline for this ) When Toby goes to Puerto Rico, he injures his neck. Maybe he realizes how fragile the neck is as a part of the body and that's way he becomes a strangler
- Toby was SO EXCITED to be a part of the jury of the case of the Scranton Strangler, because that meant he got away with it and talked about it constantly.
And because he definitely had well-kept, pent up anger because of what was mentioned above, he might've wanted to take it out on other people, but he was too weak to actually finish the job ( In a Behind The Scenes, it's confirmed that the Scranton Strangler was too weak to actually kill his victims )
-- I know that when I mentioned Toby seemed too weak to climb the fence with such ease, he might've seemed stronger than we thought, but still too weak to kill someone --
- I'm not sure what exactly happened at the jail, but it was implied Toby KNEW for a FACT the 'Scranton Strangler' was innocent. He probably went up to the alleged Scranton Strangler, told him he knew he was innocent, and once again framed the 'Scranton Strangler', by choking himself, as the final nail in the coffin
OR
- Toby went up to the Scranton Strangler, told him he knew he was innocent, and the poor guy, framed, sentenced to life in jail or sentenced to death and the man who framed it for him, convicted him of it, was just only a few feet away and the guy lost it on Toby, then strangled him.
- When Michael is forced to do therapy with Toby, Michael makes it clear he didn't want to be there, and when he was done filling in the assessment, Gabe looks at Toby and asks,
Gabe: " Is that really how you feel?"
Toby: ( hesitantly ) "Yes."
Gabe: "You marked 'Severe' in all categories, including 'At risk for homicidal behavior'
At which Toby smiles and chuckles
- He also CLEARLY makes an effort never to lose his temper, to make it seem like a very unlikely suspect for a crime of any sort.
- Toby didn't kill Michael because he was afraid of prison mike :D
- When Toby hops the fence in the episode everyone's locked in, another small detail is that he goes in the same direction the car did in the car chase.
- Toby mentioned he was writing a novel, the title being, "To frame a murder."
Now listen, you're absolutely wonderful for reading this long list of my overthinking brain all the way to the bottom, you're amazing :)
I don't know if you could tell, but the reason i have no irl friends is because i overthink the HECC out of everything :D
yeah just copy everyone else's comments into one comment and say you done it
We know Toby has a lot of endurance though, he's a runner, he must be flexible so the jumping over the fence part is not so shocking to me.

This is my favourite conspiracy theory - that Michael's bullying of Toby pushed Toby so much, he broke and became The Scranton Strangler.
Didn’t he also spend a couple nights in his car?..
Its his family tbh he got a job he didn't want because he left his teachings and belief for a girl. His life have been miserable since day 1
Also because of his neck injury in Coastal Rica. (Yes I said *coastal* rica. Only Greg will understand)

To add to this, when he goes into the prison i believe he told George Howard that he was the strangler and so he got angry and tried to kill him
Or alternatively Toby strangled himself to try and incriminate Howard more
Toby keeps on saying George is an innocent man because he is. Toby wants people to recognise him for being the Scranton Strangler because he wants attention and to be remembered as something other than a lame boring person. Toby wants to be found out.
Alex Clark-Thompson it's like American psycho literally except he's not rich or handsome he's a worker who's shitted on
Alex Clark-Thompson but then he would strangle more people while the other guy is locked up
Trippe Red Not necessarily. He wouldn't want people seeing him as some obsessed copycat killer would he
And also, when he went to see the alleged Scranton Strangler he gets attacked by him.
Therefore, if *he* were to get caught, he would have more attention than the guy locked up (and also if he continued killing he would still be sought after, only as a copycat, which is something worse to be known as)
This is bittersweet for Michael. I know he's just pissed with all the attention Toby is getting out of this.
Diego Oliveira 😂😂😂 totally
But he doesn't like bittersweet moments he doesn't understand them
It’s like bittersweet chocolate, what’s the point of that

toby also has the same exact car as the scranton strangler as seen in the parkour episode along with the viewing party episode
yo this is the best piece of evidence yet, went back and checked the parkour episode and it is the same car. Also it was him calling the office to confess when the phone rang :00
Finally someone else noticed!
I doubt it because the strangler was caught in that chase ,and Toby did comeback in the following episodes so it is highly unlikely, that this is true. Check your s$@“: next time bud
NO GOD! PLEASE NO! NO! NO! NOOOO!
Did he maybe confess to an injustice, such as putting an innocent man in prison just so he could get out of jury duty ...???? Maybe.
imagine the chaos Toby and Creed would cause if they were aware of each others capabilities.
It would be a battle for the ages but I think Creed Bratton would win.
creed might not try to hide anything but no one ever found out. he done crime in 4K and no one suspect him anything.

LandonB ayyy Landon
Plus, they are watching it at his desk. Also, the phone rang before Kelly hung it up, so whoever called knew Toby's extension Number and knew that no one was at the front desk
Joey Healy yeah I noticed Toby wasn't there
But that’s not Toby’s car. We see his car at the episode Garden Party. He has a blue car, not green/black.
Toby also taught the office about self protection. Implying he knows how to fight and take people down.
Nolan Nuanes you also get to watch toby get beat up by kelly that episode
He could've been doing that to lower suspicion, he knew Kelly could do no permanent harm to him, but he knew letting her beat him up would make him look weak, and turn attention away from him
He had to teach it, because he's HR.
+Michelle Gulden HR is not responsible for teaching self defense in any company...
Also he taught Pam how to punch better after Michael dumped her mom
The scene in Season 6 where Oscar admits Toby has gone off the rails since March and Toby doesnt deny it should have been included
after watching this, i highly believe it's toby. i feel like its now so easy to tell. he's so shy and is always shut down, especially by michael, so he just finally lost it

It means that radon and asbestos will slowly and silently damage the workers’ bodies, and eventually kill them

It's not Toby. It's Gabe. He is the person most mediumly suspected.

Oh no that means he did it because he was sad about Pam😭😭😭
His method of choice was because he knew the pain of neck injury first hand and decided to use that against other people.
He realized how fragile the neck is.

O. K. E. That's some M. Night Shyamalan kind of twist

i just realized toby never killed michael. toby probably feels internally guilty for his crimes, and because michael ridicules him so much, toby believes he deserves to be punished by the words of michael
I just thought Michael didn't fit Toby's m.o., but that's a great point I never thought of.
It would be waaayy too suspicious if micheal died

There was an episode where Jim and Pam are christening their child and Toby is at the entrance and he backs out of the church. he then says “we have a lot of catching up to do me and god”
that´s because he was a priest
What does that have to do with him being strangler
@@Tman-gt7fk maybe cause he used to be a priest but now he’s a serial killer
Zoober
What so he had two personas, one was the stranger and the other one was himself?
If you remember the episode where Jim skips work. The empanada guy greets Toby with a choke strangling action. That's the convincing point where I was thinking yup Toby is the one
Wooooowwww
Another small detail is when toby jumps the fence and runs the direction to where he lives... the same direction the car from the car chase came from.

Kevin said that they found a missing little girl
Also the Scranton Stangler just stops after Michael leaves; if Toby is the Scranton strangler then Michael could be the main source of his pent-up frustration. Him leaving was a chance for him to start fresh; he went to visit the pressumed strangler to cover his tracks.

For some reason everyone who was manager hated Toby. Could be following Michael's footsteps but, Andy I can vaguely remember being mean to Toby on a few occasions, and Dwight just straight up fired him once he became manager.
